(I'm bored so I ran this through google translator and then cleaned out most of the Korean - hopefully someone can provide a REAL translation!! I am not claiming this is accurate, but you get the gist until someone can do it properly and I'll add it to the OP.)
[EDITED WITH PROPER VERSION (so don't bitch at me people. Sorry for trying ffs.)]
Thanks to losingID8 and HonestTea for providing the real translation - last time I try to do one myself *rolls her eyes*
- The reason you decided to retire ▲ I can't reveal it right now, but there were a lot of problems and reasons. From a players perspective, when teamplay disappeared, my passion for the game fell a lot. Because it disappeared so quickly, many teamplayers suffered a lot. I think it was a very careless/irresponsible decision. On each team there are at least 6 players dedicated to teamplay, and on some even up to 8 or 10. I want to try being a coach and also working on the networks, but it didn't work out. So I decided to retire after trying this and that.
- How does it feel after retiring ▲ I don't know how I feel. It isn't regret or relief. This is a little bit of sadness. At first I was relieved, but after a little bit of time passed I am starting to feel a little more sad.
- Your biggest regret as a progamer ▲ I have a lot of regrets. There were a lot of things I wasn't able to do. I regret starting to be a teamplay player. I was pressured to start teamplay. I started teamplay when I was a Starleaguer, and I really regret that decision. I am not proud of being a teamplayer. Even though I won a lot and received many rewards, no fans will remember me.
- The fans are also saddened by this news ▲ Until now, the fan's presence has always given me strength. The most direct way of feeling it is their cheers. On a website there is continuous internet broadcast, and I chatted a lot with friends about old times. Although there were some that threw insults, in the end only fans remained.
- Your future plans ▲ I am currently doing internet broadcasts, but I will be exploring other options. I am entering military service in September.
- There are a lot of Woongjin players retiring ▲ Not long ago I chatted with DarLinG and he started his studies again. I think he is planning on entering the military soon too. I hope they all do well.

Original Article from Fomos.

He's built like a brick shit-house. I really, really wouldn't want to be attacked by him in any context. Even one involving the words 'bear hug.' Oh and google translate wins at life. I got this awesome line from a recent Firebathero article;
'Came to a sudden slump. 1, 2 who recorded 15 wins from round the opposite sex'
and the epic;
' Ahead of the game is the reason the "unconditional bonbang (live) must take care of my game I hope," the "emotional charge of all the spoils from Round 4 of the explosion of the reason I'll show them," said the ready.'
I don't know what an unconditional bonbang is, but I want to see it live.

Aww. I loved cheering for him in Gom (season 1 I believe), where he was named Dragoon. I kept hoping he'd show up on TV again but he kept losing early... Guess he's one of probably many players who have been lost in the shuffle away from 2v2 games.

They shouldn't have removed teamplay, instead produce more radical maps or something. Like a 4-player version of Battle Royal or something.

The Max/Fantastic_Namoo team was good while it lasted.
Hopefully Fantastic doesn't retire as well.
|
this is sad. i heard about how max was once a pretty good 1v1'er and was even hailed as the next-generation julyzerg (complete with matching looks). when kespa abolished the 2v2 factor in proleague it rendered a lot of non-star players obsolete as they no longer had a chance to play for their team. while this worked out for some people (i.e. zero) and they got their chance to shine on the 1v1 stage, not everyone can be a superstar and players like max are forced into obscurity. it's a sad situation. goodbye park soon jung look-alike, you will be missed.

Kind of a shame that KOR forced him to play 2v2's then just trade him off to Hanbit because of troubles inside of the house.

this news makes me so sad.. especially atm when i am trying to push off on my own career.. T_T

Man, so sad . GL Max!

sad indeed. the huge skill gap renders bottom players useless anymore. it may as well be a motivation killer for new generation??

Nooooooooo Frankenstein Zerg T_T. I hate seeing players retire except for a select few ;P.
|
omg...is that like 5 or 6 players to retire after losing to tossgirl now?
|
i still dont get why they took out 2v2... even thought i started gtting into sc when they took it out, i still wish they had it. 2v2s are fun in their own right...
|
Oh my, that's really sad. Fantastic_namoo and Max were a beastly team, really. Max + Piano too.
So much bitterness in that interview, I'm actually pretty surprised. I mean, Max could have been a great player probably. But so many progamers *could* have been great, so many... Kinda sad to see them come and go.
NsP_DarLinG going back to study... I guess there is a way out for some of them. Progaming is a hard career.

Uh did you even read the top notes?
I said I would edit the op - I just wanted to let people know incase no one translated it because Max isn't really a very big name.
(I'm bored so I ran this through google translator and then cleaned out most of the Korean - hopefully someone can provide a REAL translation!! I am not claiming this is accurate, but you get the gist until someone can do it properly and I'll add it to the OP.)
I then went to bed because I was damn tired - hence the gap between posting and editing the OP/ ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH.
I *knew* someone would have to bitch about this to me. I'm editing the op right now to include the actual translations done by losing and another person. Sorry for making the effort to try and provide a little bit more information! Jesus people like you make me wonder why I bother some times.
I need to put the wall-hitting icon on full time some days.

Sometimes there needs to be critics about something to improve quality.
I just don't wanna see this kind of pattern happening too often
1. Add words "bored" to start of news (sounds like news is poorly done but it can be saved still)
2. Using internet translators, those don't work
3. Finally which makes me sad is adding "I'll edit later if better translation comes ..."
For example, I could get one random news from fomos and start thread by saying "bla bla bored bla bla, (insert fomos picture). Using google translator bla bla, i'll edit later if better translation comes". I bet not that many would be happy and soon many threads would be closed.
Just to point out I like your photo threads, those are super nice. But perhaps translating posts could be done someone else [/Heavy whining]

I've done this ONCE - I liked Max as a player and a person when I met him and I wanted to share the fact that he's finally retired. I am sorry for not being one of the official translators/fluent in Korean, but I was just trying to share the news incase someone else didn't do it.
There will be no need for an 'improvement in quality' because this was a one-time deal. I just won't bother in the future with attempting to provide more than photos here because someone ALWAYS feels the need to come into the thread and bitch.
As it is - the comments on the Artosis photo thread made me highly consider what the hell I'm doing using all my free time and saving a massive chunk of my wages (to buy a better camera.) for people who are just going to tell me my photos make the subject retarded or complain about his;
- hair. - health. - dark circles. - location. - the weather. - Some other bullshit that I can't control.
Thanks a lot for making me feel like a piece of shit for even bothering to try and contribute something else. Go you.

You know that major of people who sees your pictures (75% typical internet numbers) don't type anything to your photo threads. Why? They are happy seeing those photos and most don't bother to make appreciation posts, just compare posts to views.
Tips to handle those complaints. Just talk to fellow admins and ask to nuke posts that contains certain comments about your photos (those you cant control, enviroment etc). Those makes your photos more living than fomos (which are pretty boring) pictures.

That's sad .. I hoped Max could do some kind of comeback. I really started to enjoy watch him play since a game against .. Mind iirc on Katrina where he didnt make his pool before his fourth hatch. That was really amazing.
|
Stop being such a dick Too_MuchZerg. Seriously, she noted in the OP that this was just a rough translation, and it's better than nothing so quit complaining. It's not like it was a horrible OP or anything.
|
Hey, Too_MuchBitching, even if there were a bunch of google translated FOMOS threads it wouldn't be the end of the world and this one was especially fine because the gist of the article, that Max retired, was clear even from the Google Translation.
