So guys basically I've moved to another place, its actually quite enjoyable and fun but I have a huge problem. Thou the internet provided in my room by the houselords is free and fairly fast, I cannot connect to iccup or battle.net. It just stops at "searching for fastest serv" or smth like that and than some lame typical error message appears. Last week I had similar issues with TL, I coudnt open the site, but with some gosu help I managed to fix it. So clearly there are some issues with the damn net, there is nothing wrong with my BW copy... Can someone help me with that, just imagine your life without battle.net/iccup, then you would have only TL to use your computer for, its basically the same thing for me atm.
Sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong place

Any kind of help or advice would be most welcome.

i have a similiar problem too, came back to school from break, now I can't even play on iccup (before I couldnt host games at home) and cant open iccup website for some unknown reason. help us~

have you tried launching BW with the iccup launcher?
i also get stuck at the "searching for fastest server" too if i dont start BW using iccup launcher, other than that no idea :x

I already have tried the suggestions from searching already. If someone could fix my problem of getting on iccup and host games, I am willing to pay him 20 bucks over paypal.

Do you have a firewall? If you use windows firewall, you need to click unblock the first time you run starcraft and iccup.

Your internet is probably a NAT setup, you won't be able to host.

It says something like the UDP ports aren't allowing packets? If thats the case, then make sure you have the right IP address forwarded. If you have the wrong one, then it won't let you play at all... I had this problem at home too, but I got it fixed by just doing that.

- i alrdy tried turning off firewall, dont tihnk thats the problem
- i cant port forward because its college connection although I was able to host before without port forwarding.
- it COULD be NAT setup although I have no idea what that is. How can i find out?

It's def not a simple issue.

And also FISH server works for me(they have their own lan/antihack launcher as well). I can play and everything but i cant host, of course.

Are you sure about this? I am no expert, but I have 5 computers in my local network behind a DSL modem all having IP adresses like 192.168.x.x and I can easily host games. I just needed to open the udp-port 6112.

What did your gosu help do? What exactly has been the problem. It could help to analyse your BW problems as your post is rathe vague now. It could be anything.

well it was clearly DNS problems with the TL page
Iccup launcher is doing no good in my case

i have similar problems whenever my ISP decides to block my SCBW cuz he thinks its 'malware' from time to time (maybe because of the peer-to-peer system), when this happens, i first am not able to connect to any new ips (e.g. ppl i havent played yet), later it shuts down the connection to already established peers too. HOWEVER WHEN I LEAVE B.NET I GET SAME PROBLEM LIKE YOU.

Possible Conclusion: Your ISP's Firewall is blocking europe.battle.net // sc.theabyss.com or whatever server / network you are going to connect too.

if you have a legal contract with your ISP (i dont, i use public wlan) then id just inform your ISP to change their behaviour involving your IP, your SCBW clients and the SCBW ports, so you dont get fucked by them...

I am not too sure about that though, but maybe it helps
