Guys, Taiche made this awesome tool ages ago for us. It allows us to store replays with the following benfits:
-No waiting times -Direct-linking -No ads whatsoever -Thumbnail with the map! -Many other things I probably forgot
It's just a reminder, please tell a friend, because it's much better for sending replay when you are making a complaint or whatever, and we admins don't waste time waiting 30 seconds for Rapidshare to allow download!
There's no money involved in this! We just want to minimize headaches :D
EDIT: http://www.repdepot.net
|
i think people upload more replays daily, why only a few are in lastest replays(sorry for my bad english )
|
I've been using repdepot, it is awesome. Also it lets you download the map that was played on, shows the players APM and starting locations, and you don't need to register or anything to use it.
|
repdepot didnt work for me before... its quite odd to get that PM however when i used one of the upload sites from the opening post in the complaints iccup forum -_-;

Repdepot works for me most of the time. But sometimes I try to upload a replay and it gives me the error that the file size is too big. But I checked the file size, it's not too big. Only some replay files give me that error when I upload.
|
yup... definitely love repdepot way more than any other place that host replays/files
|
been using this for a lonnnng time now. Only sometimes it is bugged, and wont upload a replay (file is too big?)

Repdepot's my favorite method of sharing replays. It's quick and easy.

That happens to me nearly every first time I try to upload a rep. Always works the second, though.
|
RepDepot and Fighter Replays are the best sites as far as I know. I always use RepDepot now.
I still wonder why people upload replays to rapidshare. Imo rapidshare sucks balls. They always ask me for premium account bullshit or won't allow me to download cuz I'm "dling something else" when im not.

Rapidshare shouldn't be used for anything, really.

|
wow thx forgot about repdepot. it's true that rapidshit is a pain in the ass sometimes so this is really useful

RepDepot is still by far the best upload site for us out there. Thanks a bunch.

cool but rapidshare was taken out of that thread a long time ago and admins have been making server announcements telling people to stop making rapidshare complaints..
not working though. ;p

lol I like replaydepot better will start using it moar

I agree, repdepot is the by far the best site for uploading replays. It has no waiting time, the links don't expire and it gives you lots of nice info on the replay.

I would've used repdepot but i was scared tehy wouldnt take the complaint in consideration... Mind you this was when I first complained like... a couple years ago

Just noticed a bug, when browsing for replays there's no option to filter them by version 1.16, the latest version in the filter is 1.15. So when people go to search for replays they don't see any of the new 1.16 replays. The only way they can see the new replays is by unchecking 1.15.

I still get the "file size too big" error when I try to upload reps... I have to refresh a lot and once in a while it'll randomly work

OK, thanks for the report ; I fixed the wrong thing and had a hard time figuring what was going on. Now I believe it should be OK. However, instead of blocking the upload, the progress bar won't be working. But that should not be nearly as annoying as the previous "impossible to upload" thing hopefully

Way to bump a year old thread
|
wtf this thread is only a year old? Isn't it on the strat forum guidelines that we should use repdepot or FiRe?
|
I know that this thread has been dead for almost two years, but it seems RepDepot has been down for way too long. The only thing left of it is the simple message "RepDepot is encountering issues. It will not be back until a few days, sorry." being displayed at the top of the page.
Is it the end?

Is it the end? Oh my god... i just realized... TT.TT maybe they are making a maintenance change to sc2?

Yeah it's been down a lot longer than a few days lol. Just use iccup.com

Hey guys,
Sorry for the down server. I am having issues with the database ; I thought I could make a quick fix but couldn't. So it will have to wait some more until I get more free time to work on it I'll try to disable a couple of not necessary things to put the site back up. Don't worry, all the data are still there, it's just a performance issue that brought the server down to its knees on a regular basis.
Anyway, sorry for the delay, I didn't expect it to be so long and I don't have much free time these days (second kid incoming). I'll keep you posted when everything is back to normal.
|
Taiche, thank you for the amazing site! ^_^ Congratulations on your second kid! :D
|
Thanks Taiche :D This is a really under-appreciated tool and I'm glad you're still keeping it going even with all your other responsibilities in life. Keep being a hero
|
No problems, we just needed some info on the downtime. Congrats on the kid! :D
Take your time.

Also, Chef, happy 9000th post

Thank you all for the kind words Keeping the server up is not an issue, it's just that for some reason the CPU gets to 100% constantly when the site is up ; it's been the case for several weeks so I was worried. Probably a query that needs optimization but the hell if I know which one.
I'll try to put the site back on in the next few days, with many sections or features unavailable like search or the "popular downloads" and all ; you will still be able to upload/watch replays though, which is the most important part I guess. If everything is fine, I'll try to figure out what's wrong exactly.
|
I don't think I've thanked you for this service before... so THANK YOU! :D
I was surprised to see it still online after years Is the database still intact?
|
Thanks for the hard work. I always found the logo really really cool for some reason.

Thanks Yeah, no issue with the data themselves, probably some query(ies) that are not optimized and suck all the CPU power. Will try to figure this out this weekend.

OK guys, the server is back up. As stated above, you can only upload and view replays ; search and list functions have been disabled for the time being until I find out where the bug is. Also, the side boxes (popular replays, etc...) have disappeared as well. I'll post here when everything gets back to normal.
Thanks for your understanding !
|
Thanks Taiche
|
Oh, didn't realize it was back up. Thanks so much Taiche, all your hard work maintaining the site is very much appreciated. Glad to see it still up and running.
|
Yeah thank you very much, repdepot is amazing =)
|
This is especially true after Rapidshare decide to take super slow for their download.
It used to be Megaupload and Rapidshare are the forerunner of file sharing websites.
I just can't wait to tell my children all the awesome things we did on the internet.
|
Rapidshare always blew, for me at least. Megaupload was the best, yeah.
Mediafire is pretty good though, especially for things like this.
|
Thanks Taiche! Thats awesome! I asked one guy by name of FuNkY on UsEast but not same person unfortunately
|
I've used this site to host replays for an amature tournament I ran a while back in broodwar, it's an awesome site so thanks for making it. At risk of being stoned, does the site work for storing SC2 replays?
|
Obv. not... He would have to make new code for it to read SC2 replays properly. Plus the cost of hosting would go up dramatically with the influx of SC2 users. The man has a baby, he doesn't have time and money for SC2! Think of the baby!
(but there is always time for BW, in that case put the baby to the side for a few minutes)

Hey guys,
Thank you all for the kind words Sorry for not replying earlier, had a busy week + weekend... and had not the time to look further into the bug either Anyway, about SC2 it's like Chef said : the new replay format would have to be parsed and that's a lot of work. Also, my ex-partner in crime chrisbk is no more so that's a lot less fun than it was back in 2006-2007.
