UW Odegaard Lan
Approximately 6-7 tl.net players showing up and only 1-3 that actually go to UW. For a school that boasts over 40,000 students, this is a very high turnout. /sarcasm. No shame in coming and indulging the inner nerd. You will be among peers. If you have midterms and tax returns or what not on Sunday/Monday, just stop by for 5 minutes because honestly, you'll probably spend at least 5minutes on tl.net if you stay at home and study. 2-3 hours out of your busy schedule isn't going to kill your grades.
But all this means is that the majority of players playing will be non tl.net which is still cool.
Actual Details
Prize? The knowledge that you are the best and 1.00$
When? February 7th 1 PM (Saturday)
Fee? None
Where? Odegaard Library 2nd floor (Far end of the room)
(Walk around till you see where all the Starcraft screens are)
If you've never been to Odegaard, you may feel a bit intimidated (it's a big place and many people), but don't worry.
Bring? Earphones if you want sound and a USB drive (just incase) and anything else you want

Also, since I've never played BW in Odegard before, I'm probably going to scout it out this week or the next to make sure there's an adequate area for 20+ people to play SC and to make noise.

Darn i can't go on feb 7 cuz i have church on saturdays morning-afternoon. If you guys ever want to have more tourneys or just general meetups to play for fun i would go if its on saturday evening or any other day of the week.

Darn when I first read this I was thinking. Washington University in St. Louis, which is where I'm thinking about going to college next year. Not that I'd choose a college because it has a sc community but if it did that would be pretty awesome. I've never been to a LAN

you don't need to. Look in the Seattle WA Lan thread and there's a download link to SC mini. You can just hop on to one of the machines at ode and play straight from the USB.

Hey guys, I live in Bothell, and I don't know the actual UW campus very well, but I would hate to be excluded from a Seattle tourney! I am a D+ player (usually). However, will I need a student ID to get into the place?

Tomorrow, I'm going to check to see if we can rent out a computer lab for Saturday 7th.
If yes, ( which I doubt), we can play in there with a lot more volume.
Regardless so there's no confusion, whether I get the lab or not, we will meet up by Odegard because it's very big and easy to see and most people know where it is.
I'm counting 10 people so far?

Sitting around watching vods sounds like a great time to me. Hell, if we could get enough Korean students to come (and lets be honest, there's a ton of them) we could do Livebattle/BNet Attack translations.

Yeah you can come and observe without playing if you want.
If someone if concerned about calling ahead if you're going to be late and want to know if it's worthwhile coming, PM me and I'll give you my cell #.
Also kdog could you make the flyer by Tuesday maybe so you could give it to me Tuesday evening? That way it'll have more notice if I put it up in the CS lounge :D If not, that's cool too, but I was thinking it might help get people if they have more time to not have their weekends get booked.

Last time we just met at the computers on the group work floor (the floor with the shitton of computers). That would seem to work better because people don't all show up at once.

So I assume we're just going with Insane's idea of meeting on the 2nd floor of Ode. Maybe the first person to arrive could post here to describe his exact location.
As for the MSL finals, if you guys plan to chill around before the finals start I can join but I gotta wake up early Sat morning so I can't stay for the main attraction. Would be cool to see Scooter's awesome bachelor pad though.
