First of all, you can download it here (click on 지료 다운로드 DOWNLOAD). Here is a mirror (with edited pictures... if you can view them) Here.
Basically from what I can gather, the developer of this game, Kai, wanted to do something similar to the Football Manager games, yet keep it in an e-Sports setting. This is something that the TL community kind of wanted to do.
So basically after you extract the zip, run the executable.
You will be greeted a screen like this.
New Season -> Start a new career with a new team Tournament Mode -> Go right into a single bracket tournament with randomly generated maps. Load Data -> Self explanatory.
Alright, lets pick a team, for this example I will use CJ Entus. You will now see a player list, for the tutorial, I will view sAviOr (마재윤)
If you go into a new season, you will be greeted with this screen of the map pool for the season. The map pool changes at the end of every season for both the PL and SL.
For the first season, you will always use those maps.
Click next to go onto the next screen.
Every season you will have the opportunity to spend your earned money on trading and buying new players. You can also fire your own players if you need quick cash. Most of it is easy to do and doesn't require much translation.
This screen is the screen you will be mostly be seeing during your game time. This is your calendar. The bottom left button takes you to the item shop, while the bottom right goes to your players overview. The green line means that that is the date where your players condition heals (I think).
Anyway, I will stop translating for now. infinity21 is going to help me with the rest, and the stuff I am stuck on. Hope you guys enjoy the game.
P.S Check out my beastly team. + Show Spoiler +

Wow, that's really cool! If it were in English I would download for sure.
|
Yeah too much hassle to double check things haha else cool

none of the images are being used by the program. i simply extracted everything to a folder (including the image folder...) and i can't see anything

What do the individual stats translate into? It'd be interesting to see who is ranked what in regards to those stats.

I beat tournament mode with ACE. ACE are pretty good this game, Boxer, Anytime, Reach and Oversky are a strong team, though most teams are when you don't have to deal with Season mode fatigue.
|
Badass, I'm totally going to check this out, even if I can't understand any of the text.
|
this is pretty fun/neat wow :o
USING ESTRO BTW
|
I shall lead ACE to victory...

I bet SKT1 dominates. Just totally rips apart the field because of their strong 1v1 line-up that's immune to statistical proleague chokes. I bet their zergs are worth something too.
On the other hand, they don't get the Oov or Boxer effect.
|
I love this, it's pretty cool how theres OSL/proleague in 1. Where's MSL? But damn, there's actually like "live reporting", resources a player has, army count, etc.
pretty neat

SKTT1 zergs really fail because a lot of the maps are zerg favoured. The rosters are pretty recent too so the terrans aren't so good.

esports based video games ftw I <3 korea!
edit : a translation of the stats would be awesome though, if anyone has the time to translate like 10 words, thatd be wicked =P

My pictures don't work either, I think its because the pictures are named with korean filenames so you would need korean windows to run it.

This is so awesome. I reallywish it was in English though so it didn't take so much effort to play, haha.

It'd be awesome if you could play the games for them instead of being a simulation. And have like unit handicaps to make up for crappy cpu AI.

You don't need Korean windows to show images, you just need East Asian Languages installed/be able to read Korean itself in Windows Explorer.

Oh, what a great idea

if it's easy to translate the english->korean (like the method to editing text or whatever), i can help out =]
|
I would be content with people just telling me what the Korean words meant. No need for actually changing the game to English.
For example, what do all the items do and what are the three bars depicted next to each map?
|
51398 Posts
tell me how to unpack the exe and i'll translate all of it to english.
|
ok for items:
The left box = players Middle box = Type of items Right Box = The specified item
so in the middle box, the choices in order are: 1. supplies 2. mouse 3. keyboard 4. monitor 5. misc. 6. potion
items depend, obviously keyboard, mouse, monitor, the better they are, the better your player is also potion option, is to boost your player condition. and the more expensive it gets, the more things it can do.
for option 1, theres basically vitavita (energy drink) and chewing gum which you can allow your player to use before a game starts, which helps them greatly (esp chewing gum)
the three bars for the map are: orange = rush distance green bar = resources yellow bar = something like, difficulty of map? like how complex it is or something
|

Thanks clazziquai.
For the bars next to map, you mean top, middle and bottom instead of orange, green, and yellow right? Because the bars can have different colours based on the degree of whatever it is signifying.

yes thats how it looked like for me at a certain map haha ;P

but idk, the trainups dont seem to be worth it, the mouse/keyboard/monitor use is only for like 10 games, and the one for 50 games is waaaaaaaay too much

and i also tried samsung and stork lost like every single game after first season, why??

wait so you can power up players permanently i assume?? or no

Using those 3 bars along with racial stats, makes this game so much easier. Macro players on high resource maps seems to be working very well. While high damage on small rushdistance/less complex maps

tyvm so I did figure out how to fire someone with pachi's advice, although I admit I didn't select my own team at first(it was already selected so I didnt think I needed too lol). Here's the screenshot incase you are slow like me: + Show Spoiler +
BTW, from what I can tell - the game designer purposely made certain players receive slumps after season 1 in order to make the game balanced and more interesting.. for example - Jaedong won 90% of his games for me in season 1 and even led my team to the proleague championship, but he gets worse every season to the point where he loses most of his games in season 4. Backho becomes a super good player though lol.
OK there is one thing that I can't figure out - what do these 3 boxes mean and how do I use them? + Show Spoiler + I mean the chairs, weights, and balloons. Thanks!

Where it says 행동력 = Points You Can Use. They accumulate up every game. Chairs = Rest, restores Stamina, costs 60 points for each player. Cat with the weights = Training I think, costs 120 points for each player, not sure about effects. Balloons = Fan Meeting, 200 points but I have no idea what it does.

I haven't used rest but training adds a few points to the attributes. For example, baby went up 17 points after 1 training with a most of 6 to the north attribute.
I think fan meeting gives you money (the fans buy merchandise?) seeing as there is a part showing your current money there.
edit: yep. I just sent my whole team consisting for 10 players on the fan meeting and got 124 (or was it 134) money.

cool, so it seems like training your stars and using fan meetings on your scrubs is prolly the best strategy.

it's not even that, dude i have barely enough $ to afford keyboards for one player! well i got a keyboard/mouse for stork, mouse for jangbi, and keyboard for fbh but... i have barely enough to provide my players the potions -__-
and i cant even b uy the chewing gums

I don't bother with keyboards and stuff usually, my players win with SPIRIT. Now that I realise you can train players, I should restart to test that out.

Cheats. If you want them legit, go through a season without spending any on items like me and you should be able to trade them for a mid-tier gamer. Maybe not the best like Stork / Jaedong, but a slumper should be fine.

KTF/SKT1 is ez first place i was thinking of useing them to make money then trade to get people i want like iris/nada/savior/yellow lol and train them
I hate how i need to change my language settings to korean for non unicode programs because it makes my files from C:\ to a C:W(strikethough) and it just looks ugly imo lol also it changes some of my programs into korean and i need to reboot lol everytime i want to change them

Lost 3-2 to Lecaf Sniped Jaedong/Backho with Iris and ..Much i think
Then savior lost in the Ace vs Some Scrub.
Replayed as Lecaf, they REALLY need to fix stork. I cant beat him on a zerg map with Jaedong..

my jaedong failed to qualify for like 6 seasons straight before making it to the dual tournament (he has 950+ in all stats too)

In my experience, zergs generally suck.... No zergs have over 60% win rate in my game. While 2 Ps and 2 Ts have over 70%. 6 Ps and 3 Ts have 60%-70%.

Yeah, there are no consistent zerg players.. although there is a number of solid Terrans and a couple of P's like hiya, backho, etc.

from what i've seen the most solid t's have been flash, midas, really and leta for p, bisu, free and best seem to do the job. anytime and kal straddle along too. for zergs, no idea.

|
Also it seems like all zergs dont use strategy lol apparently shark is a very the most stragic zerg next to oversky lol oversky

I have found luxury the most reliable zerg so far. he is 40-3 but I only put him on heavy zerg favored maps.
Oh and on STX Julyzerg is 21-6

With SKT, it's easy to make a lot of money since bisu & best do all the work. Make sure the players' conditions are kept top level with hot packs and don't spend money on anything else. You can make like 700-800 per season which is good enough to get 1 good player or 2-3 mediocre players with good potential.
|
I anxiously await the translation of this.. any chance that anyone could ask the creator for the source code? Maybe if he saw this thread and the interest from the english community, he might be willing. Though ultraedit might be good enough IDK..
At any rate I have played it quite a bit.. Even won the proleague title with CJ in season 2.. using only the players that are on their team now. It definitely helps to put Kwanro on low eco maps, since his aggressive style is really good on those maps.. So if the map's 2nd bar is low, then I believe that the map is low eco, if the map's first bar is low then It's a very small map? Not sure what the 3rd bar is.. but someone correct me if any of that is wrong =P Kwanro went 9-1 for me in season 3 using this method. Iris/Savior/Much are pretty good on macro maps though.

I see, thanks. So does anyone know if having a high strategy rating could work the best on maps with high complexity?

Having solid macro protosses and terrans with maps like Destination, Harmony is useful. Katrina SE second season is lucky too.

How do you save the game ? -_-

i dont think you can save the game until your season ends.. so just leave the game on/minimize and finish a season throughout the day so you can save after.

from what I can tell, complexity is probably tied into the strategy rating of a player.. but I could be wrong. KaiKnight Zerg so good.

Both (are there others other than red and blue which are Z and P respectively?) keroro guys are pretty good. Best you can scout anyway (based on cost). I scouted Nal_rA too just for novelty.
Okay, I did some rudimentary translations of items
The drink adds 3% condition. The gum lowers ability loss by 50% in the case that the player loses. This leads me to believe that your player improves by winning and gets crapper by losing. The 3rd item in the first category increases the condition of ALL (not just those in the current lineup; actually, I'm not sure about it working for the player that activates the item) the players in your team by 1% if the player that has it wins. The 4th item works by choosing who you think your player will play against. If chosen correctly your win probability will increase.
Other items pretty straight forward. If it adds a small number like below 5 it is adding condition. Otherwise if you can't find what it is adding from the player's skill octagon it is adding that amount to all skills. There's also the last category potions. Pretty straight forward I think. It's generally exchange of condition for a variable amount of a certain skill or exchanging of some of all skills for condition.

If chosen correctly your win probability will increase. Yes, I'm fairly certain the first point above is true. It's not worth it in my opinion though. Only send out guys who will win consistently It's only worth it if you're planning on training a player with good potential. The best way to play this game is to save a LOT of money by not spending any and buying out all the good players & players with potential early on. Then you'll have a solid line-up to work with and you can afford to give decent gear to your players after your line-up's set.
|
Ahh to use it click on the thing you want to do then select the players and hit the button under 2 chairs = Rest Kitty+weight = training Ballons = money making
1st bar of map = base distance 2nd bar = resources 3rd bar = complexity
Took 3 seasons of just pumping 1 guy to win then 2 more seasons until my team could compete
Also you do loose points when your guy losses. I just map abuse to make sure my guys don't loose else i use trash to play leauges early on
|
Is anyone thinking about translating this? T_T This is the best program in the world besides Starcraft itself and ChaosLauncher
|
What does the training actually do? From what I can tell, it just decreases the number on the training screen.
|
It improves the player getting training.... Some skills may decrease but overall it will be a gain.

Players stats get worse when their condition goes down. Maybe thats what gum lowers.
|
No no, it specifically states ability decrease lowered by 50%. If I remember correctly (as I do not have it in front of me at the moment), this is the same words as for those items which increases a certain amount for all skills. In any case, it doesn't lower condition loss as a result of playing a game. I thought so at first but it's not the case after much observations. Condition loss itself is a bit random. Perhaps based on the length of the game.

just mess with it enough and you get a scence on what to do.
I just have a porblem with this game and inflation of stats i was in like the 7th season doing well my main guys that win singals lost their value etc and started diving and my team couldn't hold up and every other team had like godly stats =p dam gum
|
Yeah, by the second season, Lecaf had 3 terrans who had 800 in all of their stats, it was crazy. Only Best could beat any of them, and only on high macro maps. ~.~
|
I'm pretty sure, as I said earlier, that players improve through wins (as well as training too). So if you constantly play someone good/decent on favoured maps and they constantly win as well as give them gum so they don't lose as much skills when they lose, they get good really quickly. Over 800 in all stats really isn't that difficult.
It does mean you can't really play anyone that's bad or do much speculative things because the game system doesn't work that way. You don't improve merely by playing games. You actually have to win them. To really do this is difficult for the first few seasons and especially so if you want to save up money to trade for good players.

Here are: 1. Translation of Octagon in Picture form 2. Translation of the different Maps description
How to use them: If your player has good offense = Shorter the rush distancethe better If your player has good Strategy Sense = More Complexity is better If your player has good macro = Longer the rush distance and more resource the better
Hope that helps guys!

1.21.8 was released a couple of days ago, don't notice any fixes really except for some roster changes (Thezerg to SKT) and stat changes.
Also though, I can't fucking believe this (no cheating or anything). + Show Spoiler +
Tips from me: Spend initial money on gum, it is the most useful tool in the game (and for 5 points, worth getting (you get 3 per purchase). Later on, buy heat packs so you can use your main starters more, THEN invest in gear.

my images arent showing up at all, i extracted the files and ran exe and it seems to work fine other than the images
sorry for the double post
edit: im a retard

I think that the Korean filenames make th pictures unreadable?
|
i installed the language pack and changed to the settings so it runs things in korean and the pictures still dont display, i double checked and tried to mess around with things and still nothing
|
In your language and regional settings or whatever there should be a part for non-unicode programs. You have to have that on Korean for it to work properly. It may stuff up other programs though (as in changing fonts) and for me setting it to Korean requires restarting which is annoying.
|
i found the problem, i already had the files extracted before installing the language packs so it messed up the original image names i assume. works fine now
|
This is really awesome, wish I could read the livereporting though. Mumyung looked like he might come through vs Leta but got pounded in the end of the game..

yeh stork is really imbalanced this new patch he is pretty much unbeatable against non s-class players

is this the first korean feature to go through TL for a decent length of time and not be translated? >.<
|
Does anyone know what the training that costs 120 points is for? I use it constantly and I'm not seeing a difference. (It's the one between resting (60) and money-making (120))
Anytime is my PL savior - 21-2. Too bad he keeps failing at qualifying SLs.
|
It just increases the stats of the player getting it. Not much. Maybe by 15 in total. It varies and the distribution is not necessarily spread out evenly. Some stats might even go down but overall it is definitely up.
|
SKT1 goes undefeated! Led by Best, Bisu, and Midas, all losing one game each. We also slaughtered Samsung in the Finals 4-0. Sadly Jaedong and Savior didn't perform that well .
Best was a beast this season, not only was he 22-1 in PL, he also won the OSL championship, not losing a single game to anyone all the way through.

OK one thing i found: control is the defining statistic in ZvZ. Was practicing Calm vs Jaedong at the start of the season and Calm had higher stats in everything but control and lost consistently on every map.
Kinda glad its in Korean. Fun to work stuff out. (Finally won PL as FOX in fourth season YAY).
|
Man, my 7th season as SKT, Hanbit's Free had over over 900 in every stat, and over 1000 in 3. His win % is 86%!
Some players just snow-ball into monsters. Not even Best or Bisu could beat him. :\
|
Yeah I've done 5 seasons as CJ, Free has won the starleague twice in a row. He beat my boy Much in the semifinals last season
|
5th season as ACE and have Bisu, oov (got them at the beginning of 2nd season) and just got jaedong

This game has its quirks - I have a beastly line-up including Bisu, Best, Firebathero, Fantasy, Jaedong, and Xellos, yet strangely my best player is Sea.Really who has 1000-850 in every stat. xD

Tempest's Macro is crazy...
|
Ah, this game is annoying the hell out of me now. I have yet to see a single zerg make it into the RO4 of the SL, and there is no Zerg that has a 70%+ win rate, whereas there are like 10+ terrans that have that. And the Macro terrans are extremely overpowered, with players like ForGG, Darkelf, Gogo routinely making Starleague finals.

Awesome translation dude, now I can finally figure out who's who without having to learn hangul. xD
Also, unrelated note: EstrO is pretty damn strong, I finished 3rd in proleague and 2nd in starleague (Sea.Really) with them in the first season. Sangho was my team's ace with a 15-5 record.

<3 Sea.Really and Sangho. Hyvaa rocks too.

Bump for a great game. Season 5 and I had to start over because Mind Nada Jaedong and Bisu are all slumping T_T They lose to people on maps that favor them. <_<
|
I don't get how to train or rest or have fan meetings. I'll press on it and click "run", but it won't do anything.
|
T_T this game is so random i was 18-0 and none of my players made it past RO16 :/

this game is the tits! :D
Finished my first season as SKT1.
We took the playoffs and BeSt took the Starleague finals (He beat his teammate bisu in the semi.... I really wanted bisu to win as he consistently pulled us through the regular season matches)
Game needs more Nony.

yo someone explain how to mod your saves or the game (english version) to get all that money like GTR did, i toyed with the files in ultraedit but couldnt find any value for the money

dang, this game is HARD. something like 4-16 in my first season with KTF, flash and lux out in Ro32
|
pretty hard game. I have one question. Do practice games have any effect at all?
|
... I'm completely failing, what's the general strategy to get your players to perform well? :/ (I'm using KTF)

Use the condition training, ALWAYS BUY GUM, start out with hot packs on your main players. Also dont count on Flash to win you alot, his stats are good but he loses, Alot.
|
- Buy loads of gum, use them on all of your guys in every game. - Use players on maps that favor them (IE; play Best on a P-favoured map with high resources). - Don't use players when their condition is below ~95%. - The 'Rest' action is really useful, it's pretty much all I need to get through a season with all of my main guys above 95% condition. - Don't spend your money on stat-boosting items until you have a solid team of good players. - Most zergs blow chunks, only a few like JD, July, and the twins are worth getting early on. Later on some of the other zergs can become monsters (Like in one of my games, By.Great has 900+ in just about everything).
|
I just joined tl.net to post this picture. hello all
+ Show Spoiler +Bogus is my ACE player just for laughs but now hes 2-0 after he beat boxer in a few minutes. EDIT: 3-0, he just beat savior on NeoHarmony.
Great game by the way, I just wish July didn't slump so hard.
|
Starting with CJ, by season 3 I bought Ruby, by season 4 he won "My Star League". The most consistent zerg I have is Kwanro but I only put him on maps with low rush distance and is Z favored while I used Savior and Jaedong on other maps.

Jeddus Tips
1. Develop the Team Around a Star Your team needs to be built around someone. While it is important to strive for a solid lineup and backup you can count on in the clutch, I find it helpful to overload one of your teams top players with preferred treatment. By that I mean baby him with the Vita Drink to keep his condition up around 95+, get him a K-SILVER Mouse and Keyboard, throw that power ring on him, buy him a monitor, and pop some gum in his mouth. If you can't afford the best gear, I suggest a Mickey Mouse, Umbrella keyboard, and Wrist warmers. It might be unnecessary as I spent my third season without a lot of gear and just saved money (in order to purchase Nal_Ra and Boxer for sentimental reasons...)
Alternate between resting and practicing to help boost his stats throughout the season. My team was SKT1 and my star was BeSt. BeSt finished Season III at 22 W 3 L before the playoffs. He led the team in stats all three seasons and won the first Starleague (although that seems to be a lot of luck.) and as I have stopped buying him equipment he's at 74-28.
2.The Star needs Wingmen for Support After running some in-house tournaments to figure out our strongest players (and simply judging their stats) I picked one player as my Stars main support. On SKT1 Bisu was the obvious choice. I outfitted Bisu with similar gear as BeSt once it was affordable. His record was 17-6, although a lot of that was me sending him out without his gum or vita drink on accident. Overall he made Ro4 in Season 1, Ro32 in Season 2, and Ro16 in Season 3. 64-31 record overall.
My second wingman was Midas. Midas had solid stats all around and could win consistently. He posted a final record of 13-9 by the end of the regular season, and managed Ro4 in Season 3 losing to SangHo (who is pretty beastly.) Previously he made the Ro16 in our worst season. Overall he's 53-35.
With those guys I rest and train consistently through the season. At the end of Season 3, I transitioned Midas into my star, buying him all the best equipment. He has a number of stats above 1000 now and in these seasons in-house tournament he is consistently beating BeSt and Bisu.
Develop a B-Team It is good to keep a second string of players who may even be congruent to your Big Three in ability. My 4th place player was Canata (8-3) who usually earns his way into Ro32 or Dual Tournament, My 5th place player is GoRush (he didn't compete in Season 3, I kept him training with all his action points though) and he had some big wins in the first season. My 6th place player is Fantasy, who I also spend time developing his stats in training, and should Canata or Midas be out of comission I run him in the matches.
Milk the Money All my "scrubs" spend their action points on holding fan meetings. Something like 11 players or so spending every 200 action points on fan meetings boosts your funds significantly. I used the money to outfit Midas in superstar gear, acquire Boxer from ACE (trading Mujuk) and purchasing Nal_Ra from the free agent pool.
In season 3 in every match we would go Bisu, BeSt, Midas, then Canata. Most games we would 3:0 it, except CJ seemed to have our number.
My team went 16-6, 16-6, and 19-3(+39) We won the playoffs three seasons in a row.
Now I am trying mad scientist stuff, like loading Boxer with attack poisons and seeing how much damage he does when he heals his condition back... going to try different gear configurations too.
I don't recommend save hacking to those who are trying to learn the game, it is true you can make a pretty wicked team, but it is kind of against the spirit of the game.
Other people have posted a good summary: Use gum. Keep condition up. Rest and Train. Pick players who are advantageous to the maps.
|
Haha in my first season as CJ, sAviOr has beaten bisu 3 times, once on andromeda in like the second match, then in the next encounter haflway through the season, they vsed in game 4 on colloseum and sAviOr won, then in ace i picked savior and he beat bisu on andromeda again.
Wish this translated to real proleague t.t.

has anyone actually managed to go a perfect season? (24-0)?
my uber team always seems to stumble at one part of the season.... i was having free-reign over the competition (never got to an ace match) then out of no where cj 3-2's me.
|
I came close several times, going 21-1 and 20-2 pretty often. But random crap like your star players losing to chumps like zergjoaa (Seriously, who the hell is this guy?) screws everything up.
|
Haha, type-b won my first starleague. This is so crazy addictive.
|
Does anyone have any suggestions on starting cj, like what to do, who to send on what maps, who to train etc. (i just finished first season, finished 10th infront of estro and ace lolol)
I'm still getting used to this.

not yet, I just went 20-2 (or 21-2 counting the finals)
I lost to KTF and KHAN early on, I was being kind of lazy that season.. Midas and Bisu both made Ro8 (20-3 season for Midas before post season I think)
I'm playing with out of the box SKT1, I think I would manage a perfect season if I just focused more on those matches I don't feel are important to my end goal (or spent a season just saving cash then maxing out the gear on my starting lineup and blasting through the next one)
I think my goal should be perfect season and then take the starleague (which is sort of a pipedream anyways...still only won the first time, and that guy hasn't made it past Ro32 since)

This game is no fun. No matter what you do, your best players suck ass and the more they lose, the more their abilities go down the drain, I never have money for equipments/items yet all the other teams are fully equipped. I played 17 seasons without cheating, that enough for you, Mr Internet justice?
I have Lecaf with: Luxury, Stork, Flash, Jaedong, BackHo, BeSt, fOrGG, HiyA, Young, GGPlay, Juni, Anytime, Really and zergjoaa and my record over 17 seasons is 114-263 (sets: 577-938). So tell me, should I get MORE stars maybe? They ALL slump and end up with HORRIBLE stats (eg: stork is under 600 in ever stat, regardless of training and resting, just because he went on a slump that led into a bigger slump that led him into a shitty b-class scrub).
Seriously I just want someone to point out the line to edit or something ... not give me an ethics class about how cheating (in a single player) is so wrong and evil.

Much, sAviOr, EffOrt got 3-0d by YellOw, Reach, OversKy.

Ethics or not, I'm not sure why you would be getting worked over so badly.
Do you keep their condition up above 95%?
As far as money, take all your non-players and make them hold fan meetings as soon as they hit 200 Action points. Do this all season long!
With that team I think my lineup would be: Really BeSt Jaedong Stork
I would save the money you get from Fan Meetings for the K-Silver equipment and Power Ring for Jaedong, Best, or Really ASAP. The other guys would probably get wrist warmers, a mickey mouse, and an umbrella keyboard as the season progresses.
Try to keep 8 Vita Drinks on hand for your lineup (even moreso than the other gear), and keep curing Really, Best, and Jaedong (if that is your starting three) since their condition will drop often.
If that doesn't work, you can send me your save file for 17 seasons and I can see if I can come up with a strategy to pull your guys out of their slump!

Hold a Fan Meeting: for 200 action points you are given a sum of money by holding a fan meeting. Go to player action screen. click on the third icon (hold fan meeting) Select the players you want to hold it. (requires 200 action points.) Click run. Funds are placed in your reserves.
I don't know the algorithm used to determine funds.
Tip: Use the players who aren't going to play regularly.
|
not to sound like a jerk or anything but i dont see why many people say this game is hard, try to use common sense and put the players you're gonna use on maps that fit they're style of play (like putting flash and any other macro oriented players on monty hall and not maps like neo requiem and the opposite for jaedong and more control/harass players)
anyways restarted my file as ACE using the translated version and now im season 5 with 1 PL win and 3 consistent RO16 and higher SL players (Flash, Bisu, and OversKy...Casy on and off) and YellOw improved a lot from what he starts out with (beat fake YellOw on neo requiem ). the players i use on my team the most are (ill try to put it in order from best to worst): Flash, Jaedong, Bisu, OversKy, Casy, and BoxeR

I still don't understand how to trade, I'm at the screen with "scout trade fire" or w/e but it won't let me do shit, I've figured out how to Fire but that's it.

pick a player from your team and a player from the team u want. the trade option will only appear if u have enough points for the trade. same thing goes for scouting

i think train games are to try out players on maps so you can see how they work out (like i figured out the BoxeR is really good in monty hall despite having garbage macro, its probably due to his high strategy). someone clarify if im wrong

for KTF:
use Flash in Macro heavy maps (Harmony, etc.) and those that favor T (Plasma, etc.)
purchase a ring, k-sharp, and m-sharp to lux and flash. this is how i won season 1 and came 2nd in season 3 and 4 (proleague). Lux keeps getting to ro4 but gets eliminated weirdly (either he wins the first game and drops the next 2 or loose to horrible players), and flash never gets past ro8 for me. Maybe because i use them alot in PL.
Also Lucifer and Tempest are good for Macro Maps that favors P (Destination, etc.). Tempest is my Destination Sniper and 815 is a good backup for lux.
Hery is Useless and SaiR is very very good in maps with very short base distance (there are loads if you get lucky with map pool in the laters seasons)
Also a hax tip. After the season, I save my game first then check the map pool, if the map pool doesnt favor my players, i press the reset button and load again until i have maps that favor my players. This was also how I got Nal_rA, by reseting when he is not on the recruit list.
And yes, The gum helps alot.
So i hope this helps some of the KTF users.

I'm working on a CJ walkthrough/strat guide as a sort of challenge.
It may take me a week to figure it out.
I went like 12-10 on first try, narrowly missing the playoffs. It took me the first half of the season to figure out my strategy.. the second half I had a good 8 game win streak. Lineup: Iris, Much, Kwanro, Savior. Backup: Darkelf Ace: Iris, Much as Backup.
The whole idea is to build a powerful high attack based team. I don't know many of the other players yet though, I am working on the spreadsheet of the team.
We'll see how I do with my next attempt.

You should try to incorporate Xellos into your team, he's quite a solid terran. I found I could get about a ~60% win rate out of him by playing him on terran advantaged maps.

Xellos is so unpredictable though I went through the first 2 seasons with him going something like 10-15 and on only terran favored maps
|
I subbed XellOs when Iris was too low condition to play. He managed to win his match, but his style didn't seem suited to my overall gameplan.
I managed to get Iris Attack at about 950 and Defense about the same (Macro over 900 also) while xellos was his usual 650-750 stats, which isn't bad, but he went 0-4 against Iris in the In-Team matches (he also lost to Savior and Much in similar fashion.)
That doesn't mean XellOs is bad, he just needs to be developed with good equipment, training, and positive results in-game.
A lot of it would depend on the maps for the season and when I am playing teams he can outplay.

Halfway through Season 1 as CJ Entus.. the reattempt. I've played every team, so more or less we would see a repeat of the results over the second half of the league.
I stuck to my power lineup of Much, Iris, and Kwanro. SaviOr was my clutch player after my big three.
One match Iris was down to 89% Condition, so I subbed in XellOs (he got the win) The match went to the ACE so I pulled Iris out (He was equipped with the K-Sharp gear for extra damage dealing) and he pulled through. Iris was 12-3 by mid season, which is respectable for a team leader.
The key is to keep that condition up, pay attention to the maps, heal when you are able, milk money whenever you get the opportunity, upgrade equipment keyboard+mouse together, and then train them up.
All CJ Entus fans will be able to take these boys to the title I think.
The key, with any team, is basically learning how to manage the players health, find your star and wingmen, then grind cash to buff them up.

Playing with ACE is really hard/frustrating. Especially if you play with default teams only (no trading). Best I've done so far was crap 1st season, 2nd place 2nd season (19-3 woo), crap again 3rd season. By that time Anytime started massively failing and I decided to reboot.
My ACE lineup (not like there's much variety, anyways): Lineup - Anytime, Boxer, Oversky Backups - Daezang, Casy, Yellow Subs - Foru, Mumyung Ace - Anytime, Yellow (map dependant)
Somehow, even though Anytime had a ~75 win% over 3 seasons, he couldn't get past the Ro32. The only people I've ever had qualify to the SL were him, Boxer, and... Sunny.
Playing ACE is like playing on Extreme mode... there's about 3-6 players none of your guys except Anytime can touch in the early seasons. Meanwhile... I guess I'll go start again.
|
Bisu turned into a god XD
In season 2 he is 27 - 2 !!!!!
Also end of the season 2 I recruit Flash , EffOrt and BoxeR
My line up became like this.
Bisu Flash BeSt Fantasy EffOrt BoxeR Kwanro
I'll be undefeated champion hopefully

Thing I learned while playing this BackHo sucks.

My actions in the "player action" menu aren't working (rest, train, fan meeting), I click on a player and then PlyrActio and then Rest and then Run, and it does nothing. How do these work?

You have to select the player after you select the action from the player action menu.

When I'm in the mood to just mess around I like to choose a random team and go until I lose, upon losing I switch to the team I lost to. (By season 13 it starts to get boring)

what do the two bars mean when the game is actually happening, the orange and blue one i mean

I assume one is units and the other is money, if either drops to zero it is game over. It could be any variation of that.

BackHo won the Starleague 3-0 in the finals also Sparkyz won the Proleague
Fun as hell!
|
Bisu is so strong in this version, I went 20-2 in the Starleagues, and won Proleague finals 4-1. Bisu lost to free in SL 0-3 :O!!!
But Bisu, Fantasy, Best combo is amazing.
|
I won the league first season with Khan, and Stork won the Starleague. Its really helpful to buy a bunch of Vita Vitas to help with conditioning. I also find monitors on your stars (i use them on Jangbi, FBH, and Stork), to keep up their conditioning is useful. I almost always put a good player first round and give him a ceremony to give a boost to team. I dunno how effective it is, but it works for me. and BTW, Flash is wayyyy OP. He went 21-1 for me in the PL, i just stacked items on him.

My Oversky and Daezang end up being nice all-rounders, while Reach keeps underperforming. I'm having trouble finding someone to stick on Andromeda without overplaying everyone, so I used Mumyung. He's 2-7.
This playthrough, on the first season, I managed to qualify an unprecedented 3 players into the SL: Daezang, Casy, and Oversky. They only got to the Ro16, but things are looking up. I just hate equipment replacing days because it hurts to see your funds take a giant drop. Speaking of which, the other problem with ACE is that your money gain from fanmeetings is really small because of the amount of players.

OMG Savior just won Starleague!! After many seasons of underperforming in my SKT1 team, he just exploded this season and slaughtered even my god of Starcraft, Best (1100 in macro, defense, attack and 950-1050 in everything else), on the way to his crown.
Could this be a sign? it's 2009 already :D

But regardless, if you can make around ~800 points a season, and you should be able to if you can win around 70% of your games, then you can quickly build up a star-studded roster in a few seasons.
In my current game as Estro, by season 9 my main roster is:
Sea.Really Best Sea Anytime Upmagic Yellow[arnc] Firebathero

This is so awesome, just DLed it. I picked SKT T1 and 3-0'd KTF in the first game. I was so nervous in the Bisu Flash matchup, the levels look to be very close until the end.

ACE 1st season update: Finished with 13-9 (+1) for 3rd, setting me up with a Playoff match vs. Lecaf. Shit.
Yellow, 2-4, ends up being my clutch player, beating Lomo on a map he's never played on to force the Ace match.
Jaedong beats Anytime twice, including an Ace match that almost ends up in a tie, to sink me 4-3.
Meanwhile, Free beats Mind 3-1 for the SL crown.
Is it worth it to spend points on Training? I have my regulars spend their points on Training, always leaving enough for Resting. If someone needs equipment replacing, I save up for Fan Meetings.

Keep their conditioning high, and buying statboosting items. The poisons also work quite well, especially if you want to raise specific stats (I stacked strategy poisons on tempest and now he OWNS on macro maps.)

Hm, another good(?) Season 2 for SKT1. So we went 2nd (OMG SECOND!) place in the Proleague. We were first and the last place match was my SKT vs number 2 OGN and the winner would be 1st place.
I lost 3-2 in the ace...argh Then Best played in the Finals vs Flash and lost 3-0, wtf? But SKT now has 2 players that achived the finals (Bisu/Best) And Fantasy is great in proleague, going 20-6. Too bad he had to bump into Best in SL Season 2.
GoiNG FOR S3 LATER TONIGHT!!

Ok i got tired of getting raped with CJ/Stars/eSTRO so i decided to play khan. Went 16-2 and rubbished last game with shit players to rest players. Finished first and went onto the final vs lecaf, My players beat Backho, Lecaf and Forgg, and lost to ZERGJOOA, HIYA X2 (in ace match, he beat great) and dongrae..

Wow, just did a season with SKT1 after mostly messing around with ACE. Bisu/Best/Midas/Fantasy is a ridiculously powerful combo on the first season maps and Bisu is an absolute monster. 24-2 in Proleague regular season + winning starleague 3-1 over Kal after beating Stork in ro8 and Really in semifinals (Best lost to Kal in the semis, I was so hopeful for an all-SKT final..). Oh yeah and Doctor K beat Juni in the 6th set of the proleague finals to secure the win over Samsung KHAN. Go Doctor K.

I mean you can get almost anyone if you trade off Stork, FBH or Jangbi but if you try trading off anyone else you have to pay a crap load :/

Season 3 was horrible. Only Best managed to make it to the Semifinals of Starleague to lose 3-0 to someone (I forgot)
Proleauges, we lost in the semi-finals, to CJ 4-3, where Best lost to Much.
Season 4, was a bit better. Could have been better. I finished first place for the season and Canata was basically my sniper. =P Bisu/Best showed great stats and Fantasy went decent 14-7.
So in Starleague, Bisu lost to Pure 3-2, after a 2-0 lead -____- and Pure lost to Sea.Really in the finals 3-0!
And in the PL finals, I lost 4-2. -_- now I have two runnerups for both SL/PL am I the "Stork" of this game? :[

in the previous version did someone else had issue with the opposing team not using a player from each race? or was it just me ? I was hoping to be fixed but the log of the new version does not say anything about it.

I only use vitavita and gum although that's mainly because I play as SKT and Best/Bisu are amazing players to begin with so there isn't much need for stat boosting items (Midas, Fantasy, and Canata too if you can build them up correctly). Although if I think a player needs a small nudge in the right direction I'll buy some K-Sharp gear.

KAY TEE EPPU
gone through 2 seasons so far. placed 1st both time going into the playoffs, ended up losing in the finals both times. :[
in SL, Flash has gone the furthest by losing 0-3 in semis first season.
flash and luxury are beasts, 815 is good, tempest is ok, sair is dissappointing.
|
Aaah! Second season as SKT, 21-1 with the only loss being 2-3 to STX in a match where Kal beat Best and then beat Bisu in ace. So, so close!
Midas and Fantasy both improved a ton compared to first season, although Midas lost in the ro.32 (faced Jaedong twice and lost twice) and Fantasy lost to Flash in the ro.8.
And now Bisu rolled Flash 3-0 to win his second consecutive Starleague, what a beast.

ss of calendar screen thx
|
How did you get all of their stats so high?
|
I don't have the end of the year screen thing, cause I forgot to make a screenie of that. ><
This is Season 12 and I use a lot of the keyboards/monitors/mouses to boost up their stats and always use the gum item thing on every game. It's really easy to get such high stats with ppl like Best cause they are naturally so imba already. Just play them on maps they are good on and spent items on them like crazy. Eventually your player will reach the same point, where the only way to beat him is to use a disconnect hack or send the Destroyer.
I got another undefeated season earlier on Season 3 (screenie of that on page 10), but I couldn't repeat it until now. Always lost to a random team or two during the season (usually the worse team too...)
|
Hmm, I guess I'll have to see what my players are like that far ahead. I'm just ending season 5 now and the highest I've seen Best's strategy is ~700 with macro/attack at ~1050 and other stats mostly around 900+ so it seemed kind of odd that it could be as high as it is in that ss.
What do you usually spend your players' points on?
|
Rest mostly. I only use about 6-7 players (Best, Bisu, Canata, Midas, Fantasy, Savior, Jaedong). Puts a huge strain on their condition. All the other players just spam the money making one. At the end of the season, usually I spend the remainder of their points mostly on money making and 1 or 2 training sessions. Most of the stats come from the mouse and etc.
|
Where can i save? There is the load season data button but i cant find how to save my scores.
|
New version is far most difficult to play, money are not milked so easy anymore, Action points for players are received harder.
Funny thing though for the first time I managed to win both PL (vs OGN with BeSt beating Chalrenge in ACE match ) and also SL with Bisu, 3:2 against Leta.
I always play only 1st season with no trades.
Regular season stats:
(overall 21-1, lost to Lecaf). My go 2 players:
Bisu 19-2,
BeSt 16-2 (lost to Bisu in SL semi)
fantasy 12-2 and
Canata 7-3
Hyuk 5-8
BoxeR made the SL
Also, can we have pls the new version translated, plss

and predictably, flash wins 3:0

Looking over 1.21.9... Playing ACE got way harder. Anytime, Oversky, Reach and Sunny get nerfed, and most importantly, they lose Boxer to the most imba team ever. Good thing Casy gets a big sense buff.
Meanwhile, Best and Bisu get buffed, Leta and Mind get big buffs, and Jaedong trades some scouting for sense, strategy and defense.

I wonder how they improved "Zerg's efficiency" in this new version.

Yeah zergs are pretty weak in 1.21.8, I can't ever remember seeing one win a starleague. The game as a whole seems to follow a P > T > Z trend just looking at average winning % for players over the course of several seasons.

I have type-b at 11-4 and Yarnc at 13-5
Leta sucks major shit for me, though

Hmm I finally decided to give this game a go and it's addictive!
My first run I was winning and losing so a bit even then I pressed R at the top left and lost it all Now I tried again and am on 5-0. I just did like Jeddus said I buy lots of gum for everyone and give the other items to Bisu. I mainly play a wide range of people each game just varying, with people with high attack on maps with a short top bar, macro players on maps with long middle bars. Then I constantly train and rest people and always spend points. Working well so far, although it does look like quite a bit of luck too, if only I could read I'm just guessing :S

how do you guys trade? whenever i trade (I tried trading Canata for Luxury, and they accepted) i'm always at a shortage of $, leading me to no get potions/gum early season, sorta weird :/ what skt needs right now for me is a GOOD ZERG!!!!
|
in my game protoss are overpowered.
every single starleague semi finals has had at least 3 protoss players in it, and sometimes its all 4. best won two starleagues in a row, then lost to stork in the third. jangbi beat mind in the 4th. stork beat free in the 5th then jangbi in the 6th
|
In my games, SangHo seems to always own me easily, beat much twice and savior once as CJ, beat bisu twice and best once as skt, and when i played woongjin once he beat free..
Also to SMB - same, the only zerg i've had past the round of 8 is Jaedong. Luxury made it once, but lost to BeSt. Jaedong makes it every time though.

I am tempted to can FBH. He's been on a 5 game losing streak after winning his first two.

wait does a long bar for rush distance mean that it's good for rushing or bad for rushing?

Long bar for rushing should be bad. Neo Requiem, Nemesis, and other maps with short distances are short bars while maps like Monty Hall SE have long bars.

I've been throwing my high attack players on maps with long bars and they do far better than maps with short bars. But maybe I'm mistaken

The maps are based on real statistics use common sense if Neo Requiem has a short distance bar you can tell what it means based on how the map actually is.

-_-;; Can players slump here? I'm on season 4 and Kal went from being an unstoppable killing machine in previous seasons to losing almost every game. In fact every single player on my team is losing to players with way worse stats on maps that should suit them perfectly.
GUHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Seriously, Kal at 6-8 from like 70%+ win ratio last season --;
If a map has a high difficulty rating, strategy is one of the important skillsets right?
EDIT: Lol@Kal losing to Mumyung (who has nowhere near his stats --) on fucking Desperado (55:45 PvZ). EDIT2: Oh fuck off, now he lost to Foru. EDIT3: Then the bastard beats Rumble and Forgg in starleague --; Get your priorities straight plz.
Kal rallied and finished the season 13-10 Hwasin 11-8 By.Hero 8-5 Calm 10-9 SoO 3-7 Bestgod 2-9
EDIT4: Lol Kal 1-3 vs players with way way way worse stats than him PvP And just lost to Iris on a 60:40 PvT map --;

Someone should go and make a team of only Tossgirl, Jongmi, Navy (Is she in this?), and January. Maybe throw in Grr and Elky too. The most unlikely team evar.

A lot of my players get epic lose-streaks. Bisu started the season with a 75% win rate and great stats like 900+ in everything, then proceeded to lose his way to a 67% win rate and ~800-700 in each stat. ]=

At this stage, I'm now having trouble LOSING the Proleague. Closest I've come in recent seasons is 21-1 in regular season and 4-2 in the finals.
The 1.21.9 update is really critical, I feel. Without it, S-class Zergs tended to slump more compared to Protoss and Terrans.
With KTF, I basically spent the first two seasons only buying heat-packs and arranging fan meetings where possible. After season one, this gave me enough cash to trade FireFist for Bisu. Following much the same procedure in season two, I traded Tempest for Firebathero and 815 for Jaedong. At this stage, I had two Terran aces (Flash, Firebathero), two Zerg aces (Jaedong and Luxury) and one Protoss ace (Bisu). For this third season, I started to buy equipment for my aces, and I had enough at the end of the season to buy Nal_rA, so I could develop two aces for each race.
At this point, it's hard for me to lose Proleague matches at all, and all that's left is to develop Nal_rA's stats.

I would love to know what's happening during the games. It'd give me a reason to slow it down a bit and enjoy it more.

Someone indeed posted the method (the program is ultraedit) I am not sure how I will do map names (or the octagon stuff) but I already have 6 player names translated +my test name (it is slow going) I have all the time in the world so the only problem is map names (not sure how I will find those) and that I will die of old age before I am done. (as I said slow going). You want to try doing this yourself the player names start at ~line 0010e and ultraedit is free to download and simple to use once you realize you should ignore the numbers in the center and focus on the right hand column. You might even get it done faster than me.

You can see the korean name there for andromeda for example. I think TLPD even let's you look up korean words, so you can try copying and pasting map names on TLPD?

Not what I meant, I knew that, I actually am doing the same thing for the player names. My problem will be knowing a map name is a map name when I see it.

how do you guys increase individual stats? is there a way??

Translation update: Players: Done (with a few exceptions and a mistake or 2 in the free agents) Team+Map names: Done (They are still cut off but you should be able to figure it out) Text: I did the store -poisons and a lot of unnecessary background text, unfortunately I can't find anything for the buttons, so all of them are in Korean still. Just found and translated the octagon though.

On January 08 2009 10:45 clazziquai wrote: how do you guys increase individual stats? is there a way?? Yeah other than cheating. Im using CJ and after ten seasons I have come first 8 times and second twice, xellos won the starleague twice savior once and effort once, savior also got a silver to xellos and xellos got a silver loosing to mind. The best way to improve player stats is to have them consistently winning games and by having them practice. Basically what you have to do is make sure you put them out on maps which favor their race and do your best to look at the team your against and try not to put them into a match they will definately loose. Dont play them too often so you can use their action points to train rather than rest.
Xellos won the starleague and has become a really good player as i said well this happened completely by accident I just played him conservatively when I needed to rest Iris and DarkElf and played him agianst weaker sides on T favoured maps, if you can win the starleague it also improves your stats ALOT. I didnt even buy him any gear in the process. If you can manage to get them on a roll they can keep on going and keep on improving. Likewise you can easily put your players on a downward spiral if you play them too often or put them out in matches they will certainly loose too often.

While I can't translate the buttons I am pretty much done with translating 1.2.9blue I just need to know what would be the best site to upload it to for everyone here.

Translated 1.2.9 broken version fixed will be up in a minute.
I am posting this to the public due to some mistakes in the names of players (I don't want to waste TL bandwidth for an incomplete work) If you want to host it here anyway go ahead.
Also I found where the button text was since my last post so that is translated as well, I also started the live reporting before realizing how big it was and giving up.
This should be the fixed version (not sure how it works so if you get the choice pick the one with fixed in the name) http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=8e1beb2d0f5b67a7d2db6fb9a8902bda

My players never seem to get better... Flash is 7-3 yet at worse than default stats, used gum or vita every game.
|
Thank you so much for the new translation!
My new game as MBC went well, with Sea making it to the semifinals (Had to eliminate Ruby and Pusan on the way T_T), but we won in the PL finals over Khan rather handily.
Edit: I noticed an error, you have Nal_rA named as Mingu.
Edit2: Update on my MBC Heroes game =D
Season 3 was awesome for my Heroes - both the players in the Starleague finals were my boys.
Light won, Sea choked, obviously.
We proceeded to lay the smackdown on Khan, who stole the title from us in the previous season. My kickass terrans Light, Sea, and Ruby dominated their opponents, and Jaehoon sniped Jangbi.

Well I have officially raped this game:
Lecaf Oz:
Jaedong July Kal Jangbi Flash Leta Pure Hiya (He entered beast mode and has over 1100 in like 3 stats and has won last 3 leagues) ForGG +other 2 shitheads
Lecaf has won last 4 proleagues and has had 2/4 3/4 and 3/4 of the ro4 starleague spots these past 3 leagues respectively.

Does anyone know if ceremonies actually do something like maybe make the player do worse than normal if they loose but better if they win in terms of stats?

They just raise the condition of your whole team +1 if that player wins

For you guys who said Hiya became insanely good, was this after a lot of seasons? I've been playing a little bit as Lecaf and he did pretty good in the first season but after that he's been slumping hard. Season 4 atm and he's 15-30 overall. fOrGG on the other hand hasn't lost a proleague game since season 2 and won the starleague last season (3-0 both in semifinals vs mind and finals vs bisu). Dongrae loses quite a lot as well, but I've been able to use Backho/Jaedong/fOrGG/Young/Lomo to pretty good effect.
Yeeeah, just finished season 4.. fOrGG went 16-0 in proleague and won every single match in starleague except one game against Bisu in the ro8. Hiya finally won 2 games near the end of the season but lost in the playoffs (finished 4th, lost to MBC 4-2 in first round with only JD and fOrGG winning). I guess fOrGG has taken his place as bonjwa of my save file.
|
Can we get some kind of contest going on for this? Something like 1 day or two - each user tries to get the best out of one team, then we can move on to another one...and so on.
I would say only 1st season so it's equal for everybody, and at the end of the day everyone post his pics with the top achievment,

For me he just got lucky in the leagues early sky rocketing his stats then followed through with huge proleague performance to get his stats into insano mode

ahhh why host it on mediafire i get poor 5kbps out of that crappy site could someone please rehost the latest version?

I finally got my first perfect season in version 1.21.9 with MBC, in season 8, played with no trades at all.
Did it riding on the backs of basically just 3 star players, Light, Sea and Jaehoon.
+ Show Spoiler +~.~ The past 7 starleague finals have all been won by either Sea or Light, with Sea taking 2 and Light taking 5. I was actually rooting for Jaedong to take this one, but he got demolished by Light in each game. Aaaaand Light goes and wins the ace match to clinch the title.
|
I fucking trust tempest and he didn't failed me. + Show Spoiler +
I mean yeah its not a top player but he has a positive win ratio in his first season and he got better. he will rape next seasons. And with the money i got in that first season i bought Reach from ACE.
Now Reach and Tempest will get this StarLeague together. FUCK YEAH !!!!!! HAIL TEH PROTOSS LEGENDS
ah and ps: lol @ Flash, ok he helped a bit ps2: Go away lucifer you damn noob, Sair too

Through S4 I've won every proleague and had Flash win one SL and come 2nd, with KTF

Lol the StarLeague simulation was quite unrealistic...TESTER won the StarLeague in my 2nd season. The StarLeagues came out like this...
S1: Much > Anytime S2: Tester > Fantasy S3: Fantasy > Tester S4: Fantasy > Light
|
Playing as SKT1 and lol at ElkY having the 2nd best winrate on my team this season (no cheets, lots of trades, picked up elky as a free agent on 15th season, bought him best equipment and played him on T favored maps finishing the season at 7-1, behind FBH at 9-0, also fantasy 6-1 and Midas 8-2, lots of T favored maps this season lol). My zergs, although a top-tier lineup, have failed, great 3-5, Hyuk 3-5, Chojja 3-2 and my ace Jaedong at 9-5, although the maps that werent T sided were all strongly Z favored. No P maps at all so Bisu went 0-0 and Best 1-0, although Bisu is in the Ro4 in this starleague, having beat BeSt in the Ro8. Stork is in a semi-slump (surprisingly since the last update he's pretty weak, with 64% career winrate, far behind Midas, FBH, Bisu and BeSt)
|
by the way, before you lol @ my "top-tier Z lineup" consisting of Hyuk, great and Chojja, remember that this game isnt realistic after a few seasons. For example, FOX's keke has won 2 starleagues, Rock won one (LOLWAT) and Midas has 5 titles and 2 runner-up finishes (Mind you he's by far the best player at this point in the game with all stats 1000+ and a winrate of 76%, 267-82).
Anyways, Hyuk is a regular Ro8 club member and has 60%ish winrate, probably closer to 70% since I started training him and buying gear, he now has 850+ in all stats with control, sens and attack at 920+. Great was already booming with KHAN when I bought him (in exchange for TheZerg+1k credits ROFL) and Chojja had the best stats in the free agents and I wanted to see if it was possible to pick one of those, pimp him out and then boost his stats through a solid winrate + points on practicing to become an S-Class player. Answer seems to be yes so far (even more so with ElkY having an 85% winrate so far )
|
My players must be cursed or something when it comes to playoff matches. Going through season 1 as KTF, Flash went 20-3 in proleague and won the starleague. Finish 4th in proleague, beat eSTRO and SKT to make it to the finals against OGN. And then..
Luxury < Clay Flash < go.go Tempest < Leta Sair < Spear
I am...completely mystified.
|
well probably Flash condition was weak
|
OMG HOW DID I MISS THIS? Gonna own with Lecaf. Thx for the bump guys!
|
Trying to get a full season of 3-0 with SKT/samsung, the furthest I've got so far is with SKT I am 3 games away from the finals and Bisu is still in starleague. My next game is against khan who are in second place with only 1 (or 2) losses from earlier on in the season 1 coming from me but I'm worried because stork and jangbi are both 97+ condition :S.
Oh and ceremonies are so amazingly useful with fantasy bisu best and midas all being top contenders who rarely lose it means I keep my condition 98+ most of the time.

thats my equivalent. turned yellow into a complete wrecking machine. apparently tho he carries much of the same qualities that the real life yellow has and cannot for the life of him win a starleague haha.
right now trying to turn tossgirl into a good player, then im gonna work on each of the foreigners.

I decided not to try and find my answer in 24 pages:
Does anyone know how to find the maps in advance or are you just resorting to practicing players on every map multiple times in every MU?
|
Still playing as ACE, and... SKT can have Boxer, when I can have a Casy that owns everything left and right. That said, anyone have any screens of really weird shit happening? I had Cloud beat Jaedong once. Pics/report to come soon... maybe.
|
Been raping with Lecaf. BackHo won SL 3 times in a row, fOrGG twice in a row. I am always #1 in the rankings losing 1-2 games overall. fOrGG, BackHo and Jaedong are beasts and Young+HiyA sometimes deliver good results too. And it's been only 9 seasons.

Practicing does nothing as you would know if you had bothered to spend 30 minutes and read the thread. The maps which are being played are shown as you start the season right after you do any trades, scouting and firing.

Is it worth it to buy equipment (mice, keyboards, monitors) first or to buy stuff like gum/vitavita/ceremony/sniping first? (by first I mean the start of Season 1). Currently, with CJ, I'm trying to have the players earn their own equipment from winning in the SL (I keep track of this in an excel) and my funds from PL go into stuff that benefits the whole team. I'm curious to what you guys did to start.
Here's what happened the first time I played season mode w/ CJ.
I finish 15-7, 2nd in the PL. 3 of my players (Effort, Savior, Much) qualified for the StarLeague, Effort was eliminated in the Ro32, Savior was eliminated in the Ro16, and Much won the StarLeague (fuck yeah!) against Anytime (lolwut). I refrained from using Much in the PL Playoffs because he was still in the StarLeagues, and I somehow got 4-0'd by OGN. Next season, and I fuck everything up. Only Savior and Much are in the StarLeague, both get knocked out in the Quarterfinals. Somehow (not enough gum, I think) I finished 11th in the PL. After that it all went downhill due to a lack of funds and stuff.

Season 1 with CJ (not really knowing what to do):
Last in the PL, with a 6-16 record TT Flash won the Starleague 3:0 over Sea.

Gum is the most important as it makes you lose less stats when a player loses. Then you can use vitavita in the beggining of the season on a player who is about to player OSL and he's really tired (below 90%). The energy drinks are very good for this, they are cheap and can get a person to 100% without using in game items. (this only when you are rich)
I found the ebst items are the monitors as they make your players less tired from playing many games. So buy a good LCD for your best player (Bisu, BeSt on T1; Much on CJ; forGG in Lecaf; etc).
Then you can gain mad $ from fan meettings.
Playing after 1 or 2 seasons becomes to easy. What I try to do is play and win from season 0 with any team and trying different combies. The bad thing is you always get the same maps on season 0

Yeah my closest so far is with STX:
1st in SL with Kal and 1st in PL first season 1st in SL with Kal and 2nd in PL second season
Then once I lost PL I restarted as I already have a few far teams and my goal is to win 3-10 season in a row of SL AND PL.

Obviously the exact potential changes from game to game, however I think there is a certain degree of...potential capabilities that are consistent. I'm in season 2 as CJ, and I'm thinking of adding some depth to my terran line up [Iris, Memory, ??] or my protoss line up [much, movie, ??]. I was wondering, who do you think, as a minor to mediocre terran/protoss, usually has a good chance to make it somewhere? Or should I just stick with my team as it is and use the money for gear?
1st in proleague, SAVIOR 2nd in mystarleague. Sadly lost to forgg 1-3. Broke my heart
|
hwasin is a god in mine for some reason, he's 51 and 6 vs terrans, (3 of his losses to Sea.Really in the Finals CHOKE MORE)
I also picked up nada!
This is pretty fun.
|
has anyone noticed Ganzi always becomes really good by season 2? He made the semi finals season 3 as Lecaf, going undefeated until he was 0-3'd by Jangbi.
|
He's a middling sort of player in my game. Around season 10, his stats are nothing special - around 600-800.
|
Are they gonna add a version based on WL? Would be awesome:D
|
Now that I think about it, Max also does surprisingly well in my games. Someone was a Hanbit/Woonjing fan?
|
I wish there was a way you could always go back to check season stats of your old players, or see their total stats/abilities at the end of every season, to see the fluctuation, or consistency, of match up's. For example, season 3, Much still is negative pvp. I cant remember how negative he was before. Is he getting better or worse? Mostly flavour but still entertaining. Kwanro use to be a top zerg, then he hit a slump and has a 46% zvt zvz, but a 80% zvp. I wanna see that development, you know?
Heres to the next patch!

played 3 seasons as OGN, finished bottom 3 for proleague all 3 seasons...
but Leta won 2/3 SLs ...

Okay guys........I'm really terrible at this. I have CJ as my team and am trying to make Savior the main guy, but he has only made it to ro32 so far in around 4 seasons. The furthest is probably Kwanro in the ro16. I'm usually last or second last for PL....... Season 5 is coming up and I'm going to sell Kwanro for Jaedong.
One question, does training on a map with X player vs Y player do anything? I try giving Savior all the best stuff such as mice, keyboard, monitor, and necklace. Damn........this is so hard ;_;
Also, everyone on my team, with the exception of Jaedong who I just bought is under 40% win rate.
|
Nope, training doesn't do anything afaik. If it did, it takes away 0 condition, so it would be kinda imbalanced You gotta make your player win many games in a row, so his stats rise. Give him a gum if you think he might lose. To win, you should put your player on advantageous maps in favorable matchups.
Getting equipment helps ofc.
Well, nothing fancy, i'm not that good at this game either, but I managed to make Hong Jin Ho win a Starleague and place 2nd (1st in regular season, losing in Grand Finals to Flash) in Proleague with ACE [yeah i'm weak compared to most of the guys here].
I also managed to beast up Notice with STX by getting him correct snipes, although I must admit that it was super lucky on my part (like sniping a Protoss on a heavily T favored map).

Practice hard improves abilities- but its small. Regular practice is basically just allowing yourself to test out your players capabilities on each map. I' m in s3 as cj, first season we won PL with savior losing in the finals of the starleauge 1-3 to forgg. Second season we won PL with effort winning the sl 3-1 over Kal. Kwanro made it to the ro8 season 1, but slumped aftewards. Iris made it to the semi finals losing 2-3 twice.
Anyways. Basically the game is sort of random. Sometimes your players will do way better than their abilities say they should. I think this is just a random program that goes off for certain players, so you get new top players over time. Same thing makes some of your players slump massively, despite being the better player. But generally speaking the majority of your players will not be in a rise or slump mood, and will play consistently. Just find maps that favour them, and considering CJ's deep line up, rotate if you must. Iris can be played on 'all round' maps. Kwanro should go for maps that have a small rush distance. Effort/savior can be used on any map, so long as its not brutal against Zerg. Much [at least s1] basically falls to being used on Destination a lot.
Memory/xellos/iris is a fairly easy combo to pump up, but iris should always be your regular. Movie/much is a little harder to keep consistent, but its entirely possible to get movie to be a top player. The 3 zergs are basically thrown at you, so long as you cycle between them effectively.
Note: Game is a lot funner if you impose PL house rules, like where you have to play a member of each race no matter what. Really makes you care about the development of your line ups, because you start to worry in the back of your head; if Much slumps, my protoss line up is fucked, I have to get movie in form, etc.
Edit: Remember, don't be afraid on playing the scrubs of your team, sometimes you get lucky and they win a game, beefing them up a bit. Sometimes you get really lucky and they are in a 'rise' mood, and suddenly you have a really good player. It's rare though, so do it on occassion only.

One question, does training on a map with X player vs Y player do anything? I try giving Savior all the best stuff such as mice, keyboard, monitor, and necklace. Damn........this is so hard ;_;

I reached the ro8 with Savior, then he lost 3-0.....bleh. I'm starting to use the "sniper" item now, and it really is making a difference. My all seasons PL record is 25-121.................lol. I sold a lot of my players already and only have a 10 man team.
Here's who they are: Savior, Jaedong, Effort, Much, Movie, Reach, Nbs, Iris, Xellos, Skyhigh. I don't use Nbs at all and want to get Anytime. Should I hire more scrubs first, then the big names? Man.........I really want to restart because of my shitty PL record, but I don't want to lose Jaedong and all the items.......heh.
|
My own rules for playing: Must have 1 of each race in a match, and no trading players (though I may make an exception for GoRush and Xellos). I'm playing as ACE, finishing 1st in the standings every season after the 1st.
1st season: Finished 3rd, losing to Lecaf/Hwaseung in the semis. Sunny does well as the 2nd T, even beating Jaedong.
2nd season: I win the proleague 4-0 vs. KTF, basically by having everyone snipe Flash, and everyone else rushing their way to victory. Casy is develeoping very nicely. Anytime still fails in SL. Flash (50-6, 19-win streak) somehow loses to HyuN in the SL semis.
3rd season: PL win over CJ. Sunny, my 2nd T, starts sucking. Casy wins SL over Flash, 3-2. Anytime still fails in SL.
4th season: PL win over CJ, 4-2. Casy goes 33-5, beating Tempest for the SL title and racking up 11 straight to finish the season. Anytime still fails in SL.
5th season: PL win over CJ, 4-1. The maps force me to use Mumyung for the first time in 4 seasons, and he surprisingly goes 3-1. Yellow beats Yarnc, Casy, and finally Oversky to win the SL, 3-2. Casy shows signs of slowing down, Anytime still fails in SL.
I think there should be a penalty for an incorrect snipe, because there doesn't seem to be one.

I took screenshots of Casy at the beginning of every season, and the info is interesting.

HOLYYYYYYY SHITTTTTTT!!! My CJ team got 12th place for like the 7th time in a row. BUTTTTT I HAVE A SAVIOR VS JAEDONG FINAL!!!!!!!! They are both on my team.......omg........sorry for the caps, but I'm so excited for some reason even though this is virtual. It feels like real life.......EPIC BO5 BY TWO BEST ZERGS EVER!!!
Update: Jaedong vs Savior Jaedong <Medusa> Savior Jaedong <Ride of Valkyries> Savior Jaedong <Byzantium> Savior Jaedong <Destination> Savior Jaedong <Medusa> Savior
Jaedong wins 3-1. Wanted Savior to win, but CJ 1st and 2nd is awesome. So happy even though my team sucks balls at PL =]
Edit: Uhoh......just noticed I can't buy players from other teams. You can only trade..........I sold so many players, and now I only have 10. Shit, this isn't good O_O
|
This game is causing me to love this man.
Young's macro just broke 1k, he's getting pretty damn good.
ToSky somehow beat FBH and Really (on a T-favored map, wtf?) but lost to Child, 910, and Cloud..
Oh yeah, and you can tell Samsung Khan is Stork's team: in 9 seasons, they've got 4 starleague runner-ups (Jangbi x2, Stork, Great) and 0 wins, and 4 proleague runner-ups with only 1 win.
|
This game is so fun.
I've made MVP and go.go into complete monsters, and for some reason the OGN Shine is winning Starleagues left and right.
|
Light on my team is an absolute monster. I'm playing with the rule that I cannot trade or acquire any new players, and my team is beastly. In the last starleague, 5 players in the RO8 were from my team (Light, Sea, Jaehoon, Saint, Ruby), and the finals was a BO5 between Saint and Light (Light won... 3-0 blow-out).
My team has gone undefeated in the proleague for 3 straight seasons (66+ consecutive wins), and has won 9/10 Proleague finals, and 9/10 individual league finals. I think I'll move onto another team and try to replicate my success. :3
|
Tried playing eSTRO, and I pwned Samsung 4-0 in the PL finals in my 2nd season. Didn't think I'd win 4-0 though because the starleague finals were actually JangBi vs Stork, but somehow they both lost in my match =P
|
this games pretty cool i picked skt1 and traded fantasy for flash after season 1 but their zergs still suck lol
bisu went 18-1 and wins starleague
oh and the best line during the games Flash, overwhelming firepower or something!

Well, I finally made the playoffs after like 13 seasons. Lost in the semifinals. My Zerg Trio are really raping stuff up though. Right now it's Fantasy vs Jaedong on one bracket and Savior vs Effort on the other. Here's hoping I get 1st 2nd and 3rd place!
Semis Jaedong 3-1 Fantasy. Savior 3-0 Jaedong.
Finals Savior 3-0 Jaedong.
Savior got revenge from the previous finals! Yaya 1st 2nd and 3rd/4th(?).
Savior won another finals 3-1 over Nada.......I'm too addicted to this game.
|
My dream final has just happened:
MVP NEXT BONJWA (free also won a Starleague earlier, against Flash)
I just made the Stars have a perfect season (in PL matches, not each individual player)
I just started a game with SKTT1, where I fired Best and Bisu right off the bat. I plan to make s2 a bonjwa.
|
lol this game is so annoying you have to play like 6 hours just to get to a save.
Luckily I made cj so strong that I am literally having trouble not 3:0ing every team. Movie is my worst player that I actually use, and hes on an 11 game win streak...
So I own
|
Hehe I started over as SK Telecom and never lost a set in the first season.
Abusing Bisu = <3
|
oh man I just traded Kwanro for pure. Kwanro went to the quater finals [2-3] against lux season 1. Season 2 he sucked, except at the end. He won me games in the play offs and the semi finals. Now I'm looking at him on wemade fox listening to a sad song, and I cant help but feel guilt, like I betrayed him, just because he was being out performed by Effort.
I mean, my zerg roster is so strong, and movie/much aren't aces, they're just good. I need more protoss depth damnit! Or do I?
|
Man, this game gets to be so unrealistic after awhile.
|
On February 10 2009 08:21 Avidkeystamper wrote: Man, this game gets to be so unrealistic after awhile.
In mine Ganzi won 3 starleagues i have no idea what your talking about
|
So I started off with KTF and won both proleagues for Seasons 1 and 2 (with lots of resetting when I had terrible start off to season).
Flash is doing amazing with over 70% win percentage for every match-ups. Practice is OK with like over 66% win percentage. Bisu that I acquired for 2nd season is 63% win percentage. Tempest as well 65% win percentage.
The problem is, although I'm raping hell out of competition in Proleague (with some luck of Lecaf somehow beating Khan for me in Semis), I'm getting pounced in StarLeague. None of my guys have made it to semifinals yet and don't seem to look as if they will anytime soon. Plus I don't know if any of your games are like mine in which Jangbi is a fucking beast. He has like the highest stats right now (tied with like BeSt) and is virtually unstoppable in Bo5's. Is there any way I can take him down a few notches? I don't want to trade Jangbi into my team to just make him suck because I REALLY hate that guy and there is no way I'll ever trade him in. Also do the other teams ever get new players? I notice that they acquire the players I fire but do they ever make trades by themselves?
|
you cant really do much to stop beasts but wait. Time. Eventually Jangbi will fall- though best seems simply rigged, hes the best player in the game no matter what 100% of the time. I don't believe they trade, but they might buy an independent player...not sure on that one, I always get angry and stop playing by the 3rd season. :S

i tried playing as SKT and it just wasnt as fun as playing with sparkyz or ace, i got best to almost 1200 macro (sry no screenshots) this game doesnt get old

My Bisu has 92% win rate (3 of his 4 losses are in the MSL where he got knocked out at RO32...WTF?)
All my other people that I use have like 50-70% win rate (BeSt has the worst out of all the characters I use for some reason). The ones I use are:
Bisu BeSt Fantasy BoxeR Midas
I'm going to try to trade for Savior next season since maintaining I can maintain Bisu's epic equips and still get a ton of money ^^ I'm in the middle of the second season and I still have a perfect record in proleague (not counting playoffs).

SK Telecom Terrans suck ass. End of story. They lost me 3 sets in the second season (2 in the last 6 games and it forced me to get 1-4 against KHAN in the finals).
Bisu only lost once (to Flash), and somehow lost more times to Jaehoon than Flash in the MSL quarter/semi-finals. BeSt is still the master at choking (and he even has 1050 in both macro and attack), and all my terrans have 50-60% win rate. I still don't have a decent zerg. I have a mess of a team and I really need to import people :/
I have 578 money at the end of season 2. I can make a lot of trades to get Midas out of here for better people... I just don't know which one to take. :/
|
Midas and Fantasy are both very good in my SKT gamefile (which up to like Season 20-something by now). I guess ppl like Leta and Flash would be a good trade and you should have enough money to do it (since Midas is worth something).
|
Midas is worth a lot more than the skill he has (like 600-650 in everything), and I might get Leta. His stats seem much better than Flash's. I'm probably going to try to get Yarnc after. I have 0 problems with money (even with maintaining equipment on Bisu and BeSt).

I just opened Winners League1.4.html, it should work in Firefox.
It's not the same as the regular one, it just seems to be a way to simulate two teams facing each other. Of course I can't read Korean so I don't know if there's some option to do other stuff that I'm missing.

when I run it like firefox, and click on a team or/and an opposing team, and I hit start, nothing happens.

Map order is always:
Destination Sin Chupung-Ryeong Neo Harmony Medusa Andromeda Rush Hour 3 Tau Cross
But yeah I'm not sure exactly how realistic it is haha. If anyone's good with html though at least the code is right there.
Dazed_Spy it's probably blocking scripts, I don't use Firefox so I can't tell you how to stop it.

I am currently looking for a freeware hex editor so I can translate the game again.
|
I can't read what he said in the thing but here's what I've found as changed so far in this version compared to 1.21.9:
Shine moved to KTF from OGN Spear moved to Hwaseung from OGN GoRush moved to ACE from SKT Xellos moved to ACE from CJ MuMyung moved to SKT from ACE
Mappool changes: + Show Spoiler + Tears of the Moon: -balance altered (ZvP 45:55 -> 60:40) -rush distance, $$$, difficulty all lowered
Destination -balance altered (TvZ 60:40 -> 55:45, ZvP 55:45 -> 50:50, PvT 55:45 -> 50:50) -difficulty lowered
Sin Chupung-Ryeong -removed from season 1 mappool -balance altered (TvZ 55:45 -> 50:50, ZvP 55:45 -> 50:50, PvT 45:55 -> 50:50) -rush distance increased
Neo Harmony -removed from season 1 mappool -balance altered (TvZ 50:50 -> 45:55) -rush distance and difficulty lowered
Medusa -difficulty lowered
Byzantium -balance altered (ZvP 50:50 -> 40:60) -difficulty lowered
Return of the King -removed from season 1 mappool -difficulty lowered
Andromeda -added to season 1 mappool -balance altered (TvZ 60:40 -> 50:50, ZvP 60:40 -> 55:45, PvT 55:45 -> 50:50) -difficulty lowered
Colosseum -added to season 1 mappool -balance altered (TvZ 55:45 -> 50:50, ZvP 45:55 -> 50:50, PvT 55:45 -> 50:50)
Carthage -added to game
I guess you start with no money now instead of 10. All potions except first and last had their prices halved, the last potion went from 160 to 60 and the first one is still 5.
Training now reduces the player's condition by 1..
|

Thanks for the new translation! I don't know but the new version looks alot brighter/cleaner than the last version. I'm definitely going to try a new season on 1.12.10 with KTF again and it shouldn't be as hard as it was because now they have Shine (who sadly is stronger than over half the team). I'm Korean so it's easy for me to read it but just out of curiosity, are you going to finish translating the rest of it (free agent names, some of the item names, resources, etc.)? I'd rather be able to know who the korean free agents are because I only know most of them by their ID's.

@Sunyveil: I checked around 10 random players' stats and from comparison, I think all of the stats stayed the same (at least the ones I checked were still the same). It's a pity because you're right, Khan is so overpowered.

Ran into a bunch of problems so here's the low down on the new translation
I am trying to test changing code and seeing what effect it has on the game since my editor won't display Korean, everything hasn't had an effect on gameplay, but if you see something like t3aaaa or 4t please tell me where you found it. (screens also welcome) BTW this is the bunch of problems (that and I am translating it by feeling around like a blind man, but I can live with that.
The exception to this is players, in which case I want to know who they are so I can give them proper ids.
I couldn't find some of the map names, they just aren't where they are supposed to be, so I apologize for that.
Still same link if you can't find it (I am posting this before I upload it so if you see it in the next 5 minuets be patient.

Just downloaded new version, here's some stuff you can change with the independent players if you feel like it:
p8aaaa -> TheMarine TheMarine -> Leader JinNam -> JinSoo p5aa -> Jy p7aaaaaa -> Lx Leader -> Rainbow[ROKA] p6aaaa -> Tulip[gm] p4aaaa -> JinNam
Gonna go fiddle with it some more I'll let you know if I notice anything. Thanks for the translating.

any news with the translation?
and don't you guys hope, that dude who made mystarcraft would release a version like the new Winners League? That would be so awesome :-D
|
I stopped because there didn't seem to be enough interest in it. I will upload the latest version in ~10-15 minutes.
Done, still same URL as the OP.
|
well, yea. I noticed that too :-(
But any ways. The most important thing are the names of the players and the teams. And they are translated. So you can enjoy the game more or less in English! :-D
I'm sure if a really new version of mystarcraft comes up, it'll attract more interest once again. As for now, I'm really thankful for your work, woswordsmen!
Cheers from Switzerland :-)

I appreciate all your efforts wswordsmen :D This game is great

How embarrassing I uploaded the wrong file. fixing the mistake.

why is the file set to private

So people don't mistake it for the new version. I accidentally forgot to click the button to finalize the upload wait 60s

o where is the new version?

Just to clarify, it is at the same link, it wasn't there because I screwed up.

oddly enough i was giving free all the good items until he lost to him in the SL, abuse ftw

this was after he beat JangBi 3-2 after being down 0-2 and starting the game at 91%

ok so I tried searching for this but failed miserably, and I don't want to read 30 pgs of posts (if it's been posted)
but what does each player stat have to do with the map stats? like I heard that strat helps with difficulty, attack/control help with low rush distance, etc.?
also lol I have khan and actually managed to lose 2 SLs out of 18

Lol you mean 1-2?

Going to upload a new version now, the main difference is some menus, I wasn't sure if there was still enough interest to do it.
Reminder: Old saves (from 1.21.1 at least) work with different versions of the translation link is in OP

epic fail on my part, its so fun abusing players with many games, GGplay had 56 (55 there then PL finals). i need to do that with Flash to reproduce reality

The actual games were funnier, the zergs got max army as soon as they started making any army, I don't have a copy of the exe (so this is the only shot I have) but it was a funny bug.
BTW I uploaded the update it like 2 min after I posted (has the same name though).

it's impossible to have a player max out all stats at 1100 (i've tried it, doesn't work)

On March 21 2009 23:23 ZidaneTribal wrote: do you lose more likely if u put speed on 4x cuz thats how it feels.. There should be no reason for that, I only modified string literals. If you want to find out play ~30 practice games at x1 x4 x8 speeds between the same player and map, see if there is a big difference.
This might be obvious but the left side would be win, right would be lose. Also if it looks unusual to you post your data so I can look at it.

So I pretty much 'beat' this game. Played like 25 seasons (I know, I know) and it's almost always one of my players who get champion and 2nd place. And I always win PL, except for a few weird occasions. I don't even have to snipe players anymore because the majority of my team I can send in with gum and they will most likely win. One season the ro8 was composed of all my players.
I think if you start off the game well you will dominate, but if not, it will be a challenging game. This was a new file I made where I won PL in the first season. I'll still play it if I want to kill time or something, but it's just too easy now =( I even made one of the Terran Korean girls into a pretty good player.
|
Yeah I know what you mean. It was actually kinda fun when it was challenging in the first few seasons. Then by like season 6 I won like almost all the PL except 1 and then Bisu, Flash, 815 and Tempest each had like SL wins and it became boring because I won all the time. This time I'm going to keep the team exactly how it is rl and not trade in players like Bisu or oversky.
|
If you want a bigger challenge (although not buy much) fire the people marked [rtd] because they retired (this won't make your team worse, but you will get less money), or instead of trying to do well do something silly like make a team of foreigners (I assume you know them).
btw I am going to update retires (hero, zergjjoaa) if you care (they will still be on the team I can't change that just marked as retired), also comes with a few more English menus, but not enough to warrant a release at this point otherwise.

I can't I can only modify names you need if you downloaded the new version you would notice hero and zergjjoaa have [rtd] next to their names denoting they are retired. While hypothetically I could do that I would need to read and write ASCII fluently when I don't even know how it works. Forgg will be traded in the next version of the game, which I can't control (not the next translation which I have control over). Based on the previous amount of time it took I would say you have ~2 months to wait (end of round 4 of PL)

and by the end of that, I hope the game has frag-bet-style. That'd be sooo awesom :-)
and thx wswordsmen once again :-)

Nice, thanks for the link, can't wait to try it out
Wow, I love Flash's new picture
Wow again, By.hero is a lot better now
|
Yay, I never finished translating this one.
I will get to work on the new version after Lzgamer's stream ends.
|
It's really cool. He made a lot of balance changes.
SkyHigh for instance is a beast now and the really overpowered FBH is a lot weaker in the new version. sAviOr also got much stronger *YEA*. That's really cool. What surprises me is, that JangBi is also slightly better in the new version (as though he wasn't allreasy super strong :-) )
It seems a lot more accurate now. I'll try a new season with CJ! (gogogo sAviOr :->)
|
Translated version is out, with the usual start (names of players/teams, maps, and stats that's what the NMS stands for)
|
|
I hope TT and Frozean suck now, they were always dominating in my seasons and it pissed me off
looking forward to the new balances! Kay-Tep should be nigh-unstoppable with the roster changes now

Destroying fools with CJ Entus. Placed 2nd in the first season, but won the team tournament. Started season 2 and am currently sitting at 1st with 12-2 record. Have two players in the top 16 for MSL, with Savior playing a top 32 game after I stomp Oz.
On a side note, the player who always seems to destroy me is HiyA. D:

Get hotpacks for everyone. Always use gum on players. Save money to buy good players. Dominate. Win. Don't send out players with bad-ish condition or if they have a league upcoming.

what are the hotpacks? what does gum do?

I am not going to translate the menus of this version (to much work), but I already did the menus for version 1.2.9 Blue, it is one of the files at the site with the most recently translated version.
It is actually the version that the quote is supposed to lead you to.
Also since I have pretty much taken over the thread I thought that making a new thread would be a good idea so I could edit the OP, I want other peoples feedback on this idea.
Poll: Make a new thread and when? (Vote): No (Vote): Now (Vote): Next Translation Update (Vote): Next Game Update (Korean)
edit: damn I wanted the option to read now, but I got quoted before I could change the poll.

On April 12 2009 12:26 whatusername wrote: make it now! also there needs to be a cool pic for IdrA Idra is a joke. It is just a Terran player that doesn't exist, so I named it Idra. I named the cartoon protoss Nony when Nony was in Korea.
I actually do a bunch of those jokes. Check out version 1.2.9 look at the ring item. I was actually disappointed no one noticed that.
Edit: I just got an idea, I can put some foreign gosus in the game (although they would be stuck with the same stats and race, basically the only thing I can change is the pictures and names.

Yeah good idea. There are some "no team" korean guys many here probably don't know.

Wow, this game decided to go back a handful of years.
GoRush decided to beat Bisu in the first season of my newest MyStar. Talk about random.
And Go.go also advanced in first place out of a group including him, Mind, Hwasin, and Flash. Talk about bm yet gosu at the same time!

Yeah the only player in recent years that I remember got a significant namechange after becoming really good was Savior (from IPXZerg).
Edit: Just realized that there is a pattern in how you play opponents throughout a season. I always wondered why it always seemed that I played the same team twice in one week half-way through the season, especially since it continually reoccurred. Well, I finally looked at how the games went and realized that you play every single team in some (I presume) random order. You then play them again in the reverse order you began the season with. I'm not sure if this is a new revelation or not and I doubt it will help in anyway; however, I just thought it was an interesting note about this game.

Some questions for previous version. 1.9.2 or smth like that: 1. How to use training, rest and fansector. I select player, then click act, but nothing good or bad happenes. 2. Is hotpocket really somehow usefull except +1 condition? Does it bring any good to a player who already HAS 100? 3. What maps are you used in PC room competetion? Why they don't use devices there? Do they help or not?

1. Select player, and press bench (for rest) baloons is fan meeting etc.
If you click rest you lose action points of the players selected and gain condition. With fan meeting you gain money.
2. Hot pad thing is good cause it makes players get tired less for little money. Condition is a huge factor, a decent guy at 100% can beat a great player at 90%.
Not sure about 3.

The more they win, the better they get. You can try buying the potions, but it's heavily luck-based. The 120-point training thingy also messes around with your players' stats a bit.
