I watched Artosis ASL video on YouTube, and I don’t think Afreeca makes them wait with launching the Vods but they don’t have the production to host it live.

What I'm still curious about is whether the end product for the Tastosis VODs is something that can have an audience of people all watching at the same time. Two approaches that might make this possible: 1) use a feature of YouTube so that the video premiers at a set time and has a live chat box accompanying it, 2) Tastosis actually stream their commentating of the VOD on YouTube (again having the chat box). 1) Seems pretty feasible and not breaking anyone's terms presupposing that feature even exists on YouTube. 2) seems like it might break someone's terms but I don't know exactly what.

Personally I think either option would be amazing, and actually markedly better than having no audience watching and chatting together. If it's possible, I hope Tastosis get word of this idea and take it to heart!

1) Is absolutely possible, it is actually called "Premiere" and is an option you can select when uploading a VOD with a scheduled "Premiere" time. I think having some sort of social strapped to this would absolutely make sense, even if it is something in a 3rd party program like Discord if need be - that's how us crusty old folks used to watch Proleague with our 144p streams, chatting on mIRC ^^;

Oh is that what premiere is?

I thought it was just creators announcing an upload ahead of time! That sounds pretty cool actually, would definitely recommend Tastosis go down that route

It does both! If you go to the creator's channel, you will see that there is a premiere in X hours, and the creator can share a direct link to the video where it says the same thing (with the preview thumbnail) soon after it is uploaded. The chat box appears during the broadcast, and disappears after the broadcast is over (I believe no record is kept of the chat but I'm not an expert).

Good times, back when the live report threads would reach 100s of pages and you'd have people live translating in chat T_T

If Arty or tasteless do read this: +1 for the premiere idea

would be fun to emulate the live experience somewhat, even if it is just a VoD in disguise

Would be interesting to know how much they got paid by Afreeca to host these things. If we could surpass that it would be amazing

has there been any information as to what people are subscribing for on patreon or is it just a one off payment to gauge interest for future seasons?

Cant tastosis cast it live on afreeca + upload vods to youtube later? i guess a lot of people would like to hear them live, like a LOT. Especially europeans. There is nothing better than waking up sunday morning and tuning into some ASL action. Surely there isnt a lot of cost associated with casting live it on afreeca?

They cant cause they are twitch partners! Best thing we can expect maybe if they can try to get VODs from Afreeca right after the games is finished so they can cast them same day or day after! It will be really hard to wait 3 weeks for games and not be spoiled on internet about results.

That's not the issue at all. There is a free clean stream that Afreeca offers. The cost would be $0. The problem is, from what I understand and has been mentioned numerous times in this thread, their Twitch contracts.

What did he say on his stream? Because what I heard on stream from Artosis is he can't stream on Afreeca because of the Twitch partnership.
