Always a shame BW died back then when it did. There were a lot of good new players coming through with some of the old guard like Flash finally showing a bit of vulnerability afters a long period of dominance. But sadly most of the young talent went to SC2 and didn’t really come back (understandable as that’s where the money was).

Jangbi and Fanta were def in their own tier at the end. Flash particularly had so much trouble vs Fanta. Jangbi was always a pleasure to watch. Wasn’t necessarily dominant in ways that JD and Flash were but the guy just knew how to win and had a really great mastery of the game.

Thanks for the translation! Nice insight from Flash, but I think if he weren't so modest and respectful he'd be like "Yeah, Jangbi and Fantasy were good, but I still would have smoked those guys ezpz if I weren't playing SC2." He even says himself, "no one knows what would have happened if BW kept going", which could easily be interpreted as a nicer way of saying "I probably would have just steamrolled everyone, as is the nature of things."

Just watched G3. Epic game!

Fantasy scouted the proxy robo. What was his mistake? Not expecting the first drop with goons and thinking he had more time to defend against a reaver? Interesting to know how Flash would've reacted.

I vaguely remember there being some behind the scenes/streaming drama with JangBi and how some players didn't respect his OSL win enough. Was that just noise, or did it all get cleared up between the parties involved?

In Fantasy's defense, as good as the build may have been, it would have been hard to adjust to the idea of landing a command center.

Thank you for the vid. It's interesting to hear that Flash and Fantasy were close friends, I'm sure they practiced together, and I assume when Flash said that Fantasy won against him a lot, he also meant those games, not just TV matches.

I agree completely, his multitask was the best of all progamers. His dropship and vulture harass was legendary. He also got much better in his core game, as Flash said it as well. The fact that JangBi cheesed him 2-3 games in that final just means he was better that day but i think in the long run Fantasy would've had many more successes.

He should have anticipated this tpye of elevator tactic. It's kind of basic terran stuff since pimpest plays 200x to think about this and either put an scv at the edge of your base or build a building there to scout. If you see it in time, you can pull scvs in time to defend. It's one of the 100 cheeses that terrans need to be aware of against protoss...
