Anyways the answer is in your video card settings, you either want to preserve aspect ratio, or go full screen. Depends what video card you have, it should be under Scaling Mode or if you're old school it could look something like this: ![[image loading]](https://i.stack.imgur.com/LXhuJ.png) EDIT: Forgot to add that remastered is free, you can download and play online. But if you want the HD graphics and/or play ladder, then you have to play. You won't have that problem with remastered, but I also don't know what you're trying to do. Like you can't play on iccup if you run RM, and you can't do bw AI stuff either. | ||

in seriousness one thing you could try is just continually lowering your monitors resolution until it looks good. I've done that before. but trying to find the setting is prob the best way to do it. | ||

Starcraft:Remastered plays exactly like the old SC:BW, it just comes with HD graphics (which you can turn off if you like the old graphics), quality-of-life-changes (video- and other settings, personal hotkeys, zoom and info when watching replays, etc) and functional Bnet-ladder. It's also 7+ GB no matter whether you brought remastered or not. I didn't buy remastered because I was disgusted that they made it look worse for "free" players. | ||

Not 100% as sharp, but hardly noticeable, at least acceptable to most people I know who play RM with old graphics (like myself). I definitelly wouldn't go around telling people that it looks "worse" without going into detail, and that you couldn't do s.th. about it, that would give them the wrong impression. Don't want to split hairs about this actually, but if it just looks (a little bit) different, is it wrong to say that it plays exactly like SC:BW? | ||

But if you do sense the difference continuously then, of course, you have a point for people like you and I didn't want to deny or belittle that. If it irritates you, then clearly the game feels and plays a little different for you. Just wanted to state that to me, and to almost anyone I talked to about this, it plays just like it did with 1.16. | ||
