I encountered a bug where I selected 12 hydras and morphed lurkers, but I only lost money without getting any to morph.
To see this occurring, go to 11:30 and look at the high ground in front of my base. My minerals / gas go down but no lurker eggs are created. I didn't make any other gas units during this time as you can check (no mutas, etc.).
This happened a couple more times this game. I maybe lost 1000 gas this way.
The replay apparently faithfully replays the bug.

Why does this happen and can this be avoided somehow?

just keep doing what you are doing but do it better and those lurkers will morph

Yeah you made some at 11:36 and 11:45 but looking at the rep nothing has morphed.

Was the game lagging? Weird things can happen in laggy conditions?
Most likely the newest patch fucked something up...

it has happened loads in the past, i remember a game jaedong played a couple of years ago where he complained he got the bug so its probably not to do with a new patch~

You know if there are any rules in place to deal with this? Losing like 1000 gas and not get any lurkers can probably lead to losses that shouldnt be etc

it happens if you issue a move command then morph then quickly move again
basically spam move and morph and itll happen

Zerg is such a trash race.Countless of times i have this bug where i have selected 3-4 lings and only one of them get the attack order. 1 attacking while 2 are sitting looking at the fight. I also had this weird defiler bug.i always thought consume get cancel if the unit u re consuming dies.but there re many ways it gets cancel.

Yeah I feel like remastered has more bugs than any other platform for BW. One of these new maps for instance (eclipse) won't allow a reaver to fire off the ramp. It's a really annoying bug.
Meanwhile, I played the infinite nukes hacker the other day on ladder and apparently blizz is just going to sit on their hands about it.

no its a old bug from 1.16. and its easy to reproc
select a group of hydras, spam right click on 1 of the hydras as you press L. it will consume the money for all the hydras in the group but only the hydra that you are spamming rightclick on will morph. works both offline and online
this also affects mutas morphing into guardian/dev so careful with them too :D

The game engine wasn't changed for remastered.

Oh yea, I saw that. I think consume gets canceled if defiler goes through nydus. I believe it also gets canceled if the defiler goes into an overlord during animation.

I was able to get it to replicate by hitting hold on burrowed hydras a bunch of times while also spamming lurker morph, cancel, and reburrow a bunch of times. Eventually the break and can never morph again.
Sidenote: I stacked burrowed hydras and then morphed them to create stacked morphing eggs which was kinda neat. Imagine making an unbreakable wall!

Yeah as I was watching the rep I did notice your hydras were moving, (grouped and moving) before attempting to morph so this must be it. Congrats on winning the match anyways :D

yeah you cant consume and then go in nydus/overlord; it cancels it, also the drones going in gas cancels it too

yeah I had it happen as well the rare occasions when I was playing zerg on bgh back in 2013/2014; glad to know I was not hallucinating loosing a bunch of minerals/gas without anything happening. no idea whats going on with that but its definitively a thing
