If we get a decent number of signers, we should get a response from bliz.

I will still sign this petition but if nothing changes I won't be surprised.

All 3rd Party clients will be dead on arrival because Blizzard is still (very slowly) working on the game and supporting the game, it’s not fully dead like it was before remastered. It a huge effort to achieve online player base comparable to the official client, nobody can do that realistically at this stage. If the client stops working altogether or no more updates are coming then there is hope to populate other clients. We always had and still have iccup, still good old 1.16.1 graphics, but since remastered it quickly died out because sc:r gives better player experience.

They shouldv'e just hired the FISH or iCCup team as an extension for brood war and they wouldn't have to worry about a thing. blizzard didn't remove fish, they were actively encouraging players to use it for a while, but the people who ran fish never actually got paid by blizzard. Pretty soon their operating costs were not feasible so they had to call it off. It was mostly just a passion project for the people involved with running it and when they had to devote more time and their own money without actually being compensated, it just didn't make sense. I believe this is the source: https://tl.net/forum/brood-war/527274-october-1st-2017-fish-closure Here is the direct post: https://tl.net/forum/viewpost.php?post_id=26761869 Interesting he mentioned remastered art outsourced to China on page 1.

, but since remastered it quickly died out because sc:r gives better player experience. I'm probably the minority, but for me it is definitely not a better experience. I try and play with housemates and friends in other cities and it straight up doesn't work. If one member from my house plays with the others, it's fine, but as soon as there are two people on the same network and someone else on another network, it won't even start. Very frustrating and pretty much killed our momentum to start playing BW again in a big group. Back to Age II for most of us Same scenario works fine with Gameranger, but it's not as easy to get people over to other clients.

Pay a monthly fee of 40 euro or something along those lines and then demand more staff and fixes. I can compare SCR only with CSGO which I played for over 1000 hours a few years back. It was way worse than SCR, it really was, aim hacks, wall hacks, laggy servers, VALVE Antihack was a joke way worse than Blizzard's system, not to mention the childish player base but they were not VALVE's fault at least. And I thought "What do you expect for a 10 dollar game? This is an amazing bargain, 10 dollars for 1000 hours, as good as it gets, quit whining and play if you like it, if you do not - quit." All in all, in SCR it's a better situation imo. I will still sign this petition but if nothing changes I won't be surprised. I think i'd normally agree with you here but this is a different type of game, with StarCraft. It has infinite replay-ability, we have seen more successful ladders / servers ran in the past 20+ years ago, so there is no excuse for this now, no point in arguing...

I Envision that there is only one way forward: allow starcraft broodwar to be like say mozilla firefox is, or safari or chrome or browsers: what I mean (I do not know the technical lingo) to allow third parties to provide "add ons", which then every single player can personalize to their own needs, wants and such. your petition does not ask that. it asks to remove this hacker, and "fix remastered". i' m sorry, we are gonna have to do something better than that, I do not even understand exactly what you are asking blizzard to do: they have shown neither interest nor have they put any effort into doing things for broodwar since their remaster release, and your petition is too generic, emotionally based; I still appreciate your enthusiasm, care, the effort and time you put in the op, and wanting everything to be better for everybody, but I cannot sign this

Like storm dropping with 2 high templars a zerg base with 3 drones. in 2017 they remade the graphics of starcraft, of the ladder, and a few fancy tricks, because they intended to bring broodwar back under their control - and they did, because people had fate, after all, who gave is this majestic and all time best game ever? blizzard itself. What we must understand is that the videogame industry has changed. it used to be pirates, rebels and artists running the show, and by show I mean the content and games themselves. they use to have to get lucky, beg corporations, or be savy to find ways and means to get videogames out to the people. In short, like every industry, its the artists that come first, pave the way, show the potential. then come the turists, then come the corporations. For one, the lag on ladder makes the game unplayable for me and many others i'm pretty sure, which is shit when you actually enjoy playing the game. And if it was playable it would be a lot more enjoyable.

Now we have on the ladder something good! First place: amateur zerg player pCs, 18-3, a very respactable 317 average apm. He played in 41 Amateur Starleague Season 3, so I guess this is legit 100%

Reported many players and i get pretty many notices that one dude that i've reported has been banned. Sure there are many hackers in cs:go but they have other leagues with 3rd party programs that have their own antihacks that works pretty good. What blizzard really fucked up is that they flashed with the 2v2 matchmaking system but never releasing it. thats a big fat lie to sell copies
