Other than that, he is a true role model for people. Always trying his hardest to be the best, always incredibly humble and human. Definitely my favorite pro player of all time in any esports, no that's not enough. One of my absolute favorite competitors in any field <3 I don't think anyone can change the passing of the seasons (laughs). A lot of time has flowed by, and I need to think about my life going forward. Whatever I end up doing, I'll do it while remaining thankful that I remained in the minds of some fans. I'd be thankful if when people think of StarCraft, they remembered that there was once a player called Jaedong. We definitely will no matter what happens now.

Considered one of the best zergs during the KeSPA era This is incorrect. Jaedong is the best Zerg in Starcraft 1, of all time, bar none. This is without question, as no other Zerg came close to winning 3 OSLs and 2 MSLs and a WCS and various other major tournaments that defined the Starcraft 1 era. Certainly in Starcraft 2 he was a top Zerg, getting many second place finishes and a championship. When you combine the two games he is absolutely the best Zerg to ever play Starcraft. Also an amazing, humble, and awesome human being. Jaedong fighting!

Guy deserves one man. It's almost like the fans (myself included) want to make up for that so badly. Nothing would make me happier than seeing him in another final with a repeat of the Batoo OSL vs Fantasy. Most memorable series that involved him winning for me. Then he needs to probably take care of his health. I don't know if Flash has anymore wrist issues, but if it worked for him, hopefully Jaedong can get his sorted too. I'm not saying it shouldn't be a priority, but I know that Jaedong himself would want that ASL win above all else right now.

I would be thrilled to see him get a gf, get married later and watch a stream of him with a baby or something lol. I think I just want to see the man happy. yeah I would like to see him like that just as Larva has his wife and his baby. Larva occasionally lets his wife and kid appear on the stream.

Also an amazing, humble, and awesome human being. Jaedong fighting! In terms of results earned as a professional, absolutely. However, some people put more emphasis on intangibles such as memorability during peak form and influence on the landscape of the professional scene. However, I do believe people sometimes underestimate how much more Jaedong has achieved compared to sAviOr. sAviOr barely had half a year as the top performing ProLeague zerg, as opposed to over five years Jaedong spent as the best performing ProLeague zerg. It is like comparing David and Goliath, so I won't even compare the two anymore from this particular front since it is an insult to Jaedong's legacy created within the ProLeague. This is nothing like the circumstances involving BoxeR, and NaDa, whose peaks came before the creation of the ProLeague. sAviOr made his debut after the creation of the ProLeague, yet never had a season where he ended up as the best performing ProLeague player. Even if we look at what made sAviOr special (his individual league prowess), and take away the entire career achievements of sAviOr from Jaedong's body of work, this is the breakdown of the top four finishes that would be left remaining: 1st place finishes: 1 2nd place finishes: 2 Round of four appearances: 2 This is the entire top four finishes of some of the greatest modern day zerg players of all-time: EffOrt 1st place finishes: 1 2nd place finishes: 0 Round of four appearances: 0 ZerO 1st place finishes: 0 2nd place finishes: 1 Round of four appearances: 3 Even if we only look into what made sAviOr special and consider his numerous high placements he had in individual leagues, sAviOr needs the combined top four individual league placements of EffOrt and ZerO on top of his own, to somewhat match the top four individual league placements Jaedong achieved over the course of his career. The only things sAviOr has over Jaedong are intangible matters like meta-game advancements, memorable runs in certain tournaments, lores created around his legend, and the aura he had around him when he was at the top. Professionals are judged on their results. Entertainers are judged on how much they inspire the people around them. One can argue sAviOr was probably the better entertainer (better narratives surrounding him) and performance artist (more inspiring to some) involving the game of Brood War, but there is no universe where someone can logically explain how sAviOr was comparable as a professional gamer (as in people with the profession of being judged for their competitive results) of Brood War.

and afterwards, it's jaedong who was the most driven player at this period of competition. regardless, of whether or not he was the best, you guy still have the opportunity to watch his games. that's what we should be remember as it is, truly, the last time we'll see them.
