Skins are cool because they let you customize your stuff and show off to people. It's a prestige thing.

Skins shouldn't be much of a problem provided they aren't obnoxious or subtly making gameplay worse (I'm sure you guys can think of more ways than me.)

I don't think there's much room for skins in BW anyways, especially since they tried so hard to maintain the silhouettes and overall visual looks of the units. They could get away with the Town Halls because, heck, they're very hard to miss at a glance.

I don't know about you guys but I want my supply depots covered in lava and my vultures looking like toddlers on tricycles.

You will probably be able to disable your opponents skins (there's an option to disable the pre-order skins in the PTR menu), so there's no downside whatsoever to adding skins.

It's pretty obvious they're going to introduce skins because the current sprite designs are horrible. I'm 100% on board with higher resolution, but the artwork looks extremely out of place. They'd look pretty nice as 3D textures, but on an old 2D game, it's like someone just copied and pasted some relatively higher quality pictures to it. Too bright and unbearably sharp. Because it's on a 2D engine, it's hard to blend these in with shadows and perspectives. I don't know how I feel about saying this, but for this context, I wish they had gone for a slightly more cartoony approach. So I welcome softer, anime-like colored skins in the future.

Devs aren't going to change ANYTHING (and shouldn't) regards to gameplay so only thing they can profit from are DLC's such as skins, new campaign etc. I see no problem with them. Only thing I hate are emoticons, hope they won't turn this game into non sense child bs. I want everything remain oldschool and elite.

Also implement reporting system so we can punish toxicity people. A tribunal system would be great so Blizzard don't have to do the work of weeding out bad people themselves and (in)effectively let the player base punish themselves. The real world is full of awful people but this doesn't have to be the real world.

Only if I dont have to see it. RTS graphical simplicity is important, as is the fidelity of an experience ive been having since I was six. I dont want stupid, dumb looking golden Command Centers, and I shouldnt be forced to see such a thing just because some ass hat enjoys them. True for skins all together. On July 22 2017 12:29 Excalibur_Z wrote: Skins are cool because they let you customize your stuff and show off to people. It's a prestige thing. Exactly why they're unacceptable. Your experience should not infringe on mine in anyway whatsoever.

Children can also see tanks mutilating mass armies and aliens with blades attached to their limbs cutting things to shreds. I tend to lean towards putting the onus on parents deciding whether their child (I guess pre teen) should be playing mature online games instead of censoring everyone.
About skins, I don't know. I wouldn't mind buildings having alterations, but units could be off putting.

As to people being mean to one another, again, who cares? This is an online game. If someone gives you a boo boo on your hearty heart, grow up a little and move on. Either way, the bw community tends to be in their mid 20's to their mid 30's, and its small, and will remain more or less small even after remastered, and will remain primarily older even after, as well. We dont need tribunals to modify peoples behaviour [nor should we be attempting to modify peoples behaviour, this is a fucking video game].
Busy body nonsense wrapped up in hyper sensitivity. Despicable.

Idgaf if they add them in for every unit, its not even hurting anything

If you can turn they off why not.
There was a lot of mods to do this back in SC1 and BW. You could only see them yourself. So hey... i remember the "flying saucer" carriers
Didn't find the FS but... i found this one :p

I'll eat an entire baguette if they add more skins into SC:R
