I installed the patch when they released but had the OpenGL problem. Im running Windows Vista with DX10. is that already fixed?
i saw that on PTR patch it was fixed but what is that? what about the official patch? 1.18.7?
You'll have to wait until 1.18.8 goes live. (I'm guessing sometime next week or so). You'll be able to play campaign and LAN games. You won't be able to play on Battle.net though, only 7, 8 and 10 are supported because they support newer version of TLS (why Blizzard didn't use OpenSSL to support XP and Vista is beyond me).

Microsoft don't support XP so why should blizzard.

If people are still running XP they should just upgrade anyway its nearly a what 15? year old OS now, its not like getting windows 10 is difficult or anything, i mean you can download it free from the website ya know

Well people should be upgrading from XP for the main fact that it's full of security holes now. Don't know why anyone would still use XP. Hope the people that still use it don't have anything important like bank info and stuff.

isnt it obvious to you why progamers would use xp... ? 1.16 bw was made for xp os progamers find in xp os bw 1.16 has the best response to bw ie muta micro

My mouse is SUPER laggy in 1.18. No matter what options I turn off and on. When the game boots up my mouse goes from responsive to RIDICULOUSLY laggy. Swapping from ShieldBattery to 1.18 is night and day.
Tried turning off scaling and sensitivity and no luck.

Windowed/Window-Fullscreen its super laggy. Fullscreen only (which i hate) it goes SUPER sensitive and I can't even tell if it's lagging.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Is it possible to have 1.16 and 1.18 installed? Anyone have an idea about this installation without having too patch or reinstall between the two?
|
Make a copy from your 1.16 starcraft folder and then update the original one. Use either .exe to start the respective version. You have to change the install path for the 1.16 launchers like iccup or mca launcher, too, obviously.
|
You can use Registry Editor to change the path to the 1.16 version.

Hi folks,
Since I updated my bw to 1 18.7 i can no longer see any gateways (europe, fish, us east...) My 1.16 works fine with shieldbattery and if i launch it with iccup I can see the gateways (but cant use em because then it prompts me to update). I havent changed anything on my computer,to my knowledge. Any idea?

I also had no issues with 1.16 but 1.18 was blocked

so I'm playing 1.18 a bit and can't help but wonder, is it just me or they messed up the netcode completely? It's borderline science fiction for me to play a game without insane amounts of lag.

Okay, I found out what was going on: - My main monitor defaulted back to 60hz - Second monitor was still 144hz - I assume SCBW 1.18 detects the highest refresh rate? - As soon as i moved my main monitor back to 144hz, FIXED.

You should post your findings to the official forums. I wouldn’t be surprised if that is causing other people trouble too and Blizzard might be able to fix it for everybody.
