Cheating is cheating after you've established what constitutes cheating. To do that you would have had to use your perception of the world to classify a set of states or behaviours as cheating when they failed to adhere to norms. Seriously give me a break with your long winded and off-topic rhetoric. Keep it short and sweet. Isn't that what the rules of any activity exist precisely to do? Explicitly define how the game should be played and what actions are legal?
Yes but if we assume that there is 0 theoretical possibility of detecting a cheater then there is no basis for the concept of cheating. Again, sure there is SOME chance, we can invest 1B dollars and detect if they are cheating in their room. But it's far fetched.

If all noise was made by trees that fell when nobody was around, would you have a concept of noise?

Five pages ago, you would have had a chance to explain to me what you think, and why. Now you deserve only ridicule.
Right now, I would bet you have no clue yourself what you believe. You just make it up as you go along. All you know is that you want to play SC BW with your trusted SC2 hotkey setup. That's all you care about. And everything you say you base off of that.
So your new trick is to ask me what I think? Just read my posts you didn't read yet. It is in there.

My last question stands, very tall, like a large oak tree after hundreds of years.

By the way, I don't even play sc2 bud, lmao.

Provided someone informed them of what constitutes cheating. I can imagine a scenario where someone is thinking "jeez Blizzard is stupid for not include this feature let me do it alone". And be oblivious.

Huge oak. It comes down on your head, hard. And all that is in your brain afterwards is still 'I want to play with SC2 hotkey rebinds'. Your skull should be crushed, but the tree has had no effect at all on your brain. Let alone give you the perception of sound. It is simply incapable.

Provided that they read my post. Provided that they have a moral compass. An amoral person, by definition, cannot cheat, and therefore may never be punished. Case of point; mishimaBeef

Nice narrative, but did nothing to address the question.

Is it that hard to picture someone isolated from the gaming community but competitive? Okay...

Stop ruining this thread for ****'s sake.
Koreans determine the market and they will not stand for any of this shit. 1.18 will adapt to their will or 1.16 will prevail. Custom hotkeys are out of bounds for me and I consider them cheating.
People that argue otherwise don't play at a high enough level and have no clue what they're talking about. Why don't you try to imagine the effect of having patrol move on a much more accessible hotkey.
It's the same thing with spells like irradiate or laying vulture mines. Forcing the hand to physically move takes up time and forces mistakes, something that is pivotal to balance at the highest level.

Host with "Hotkeys: Classic" then.
And people who don't play at a high enough level anyway can host with "Hotkeys: Custom".

Bwchart isnt working for me, what else is there?

for you guys who consider custom hotkeys cheating, do u also consider mouse with buttons on the side also cheating? the same argument that could be used to support custom hotkeys cheating could also be used with a mouse+side buttons?
|
It is a win-win to implement an option for Custom or Classic hotkeys at the server or game host level.
This way, you get a larger player base and as well maintain the classic competition.
Just flick the switch...

To summarzie the discussion: Yes, some people in this thread would argue that the moment you use your mouse software to set one of these sidebuttons to «1», for example, you are a cheater. So maybe it is best if you get rid of your fancy sidebutton mouse and get a simple two button mouse. Just to be on the safe side. Maybe wait until after Blizzard has implemented custom hotkeys, though.

Has anyone been unable to join any games? I'm on US East and none of the games are available for some reason.
