It seems blizzard decided to sponsor bw proleague again and is making sc2 players go back to bw and possibly do what bw had to do back in 2011

Besides, there`re various predictions for BW`s new business model. Since the game is almost free to play, it is not easy to make players pay for it. If the game is play-to-play, it would follow the a similar path as SC2.
With regard to this issue, another official stated that “SC1:remaster`s business model would rather be an battle. net upgrades. Since SC1 has many faithful fans, they would establish long-term plan by uniting Battle.net services.”

I dunno the article doesn't seem legit to me. First, we have these weird WC3 MOD Screens and secondly, forcing KeSpa to switch to BW seems a bit strange to me. I would imagine Blizzard to aim for a parallel format for Sc2 and BW, forcing KeSpa to switch doesn't seem logical from their PoV.

Don't know if this is true (but I do not doubt it), but from Gtranslate, it looks like it is talking about:
- star 1 HD late this year or early next year
- continue sc2 alongside star1 proleague
- not sure on business model of star1hd
- star1hd will have better gfx and battle.net support but will have the same feel as star1
- trying to cross-promote Blizzard games

They should've used Project Revolution screenshots instead. That mod looked much more incredible, and it's too bad it never released in its entirety
It's good if they start supporting the resurgent BW scene. It's bad if they abandon SC2 to do that, but that's very unlikely. Still, it would be nice to see KT smash SKT T1 in BW again.

It wouldn't be too bad if that just meant integration into the B.net launcher. Cross-game chat with other B.net friends is useful. BW would get a higher visibility when its among the client's 6 other games (maybe 7 if they ever integrate WC3). BW tournaments, events, and content could be cross-promoted into the pages for other games.

if Blizzard does a good job running the ladder, yes. Currently ladder/tournaments are held on private servers like ICCUp and FISH. If these cease to exist (if BW HD is that succesful for hardcore players) Blizzard needs to provide an alternative. And on that regard im not sure if they will do a good job integrating community efforts like Tours etc, they haven't been in the past for sure.
bnet 2.0 is not the most accessible tool for social interaction either, even though it now has (weird) channels
It's just: this community has been self dependant for a very long time. We run our own servers, we script our own bugfixes, we run our own tours. We look to the KeSpa when it comes to balancing the game (via maps), not Blizzard.
In my personal estimation, Blizzard has been out of touch with this game for more than a decade and i simply doubt they lack the expertise and knowledge of the game and it's scene to make it right.

They might be discussing a separate BW proleague but it makes no sense why they would want to intentionally kill off the SC2 one. Most of the top SC2 pros would not be top BW pros anyways.

Here's what I think Blizzard will unveil:
- A remastered version of Brood War, running on a modified version of SC2's engine.
- Minor quality of life improvements, such as giving Lurkers the ability to Hold Position by default, and automining in the mix.
- Other mechanics such as mining, 12 unit selection limit and unit pathing designed to replicate Brood War.
- Tournament illegal exploits such as allied mines and interceptor crushing patched out of the game.
- The game is available for a small purchase fee, with cosmetic microtransactions.
- Remastered versions of the SC and SCBW campaigns.
- A return to the SCBW/WC3 custom games system.
- BW Remastered announced as a WCS 2017 title.
