But that's just an assumption as I've been using a mechanical keyboard to play BW almost right from the start. I highly doubt that this would matter, I never really noticed any wear on any mechanical switch even on 5+ year old keyboards. IMO mechanical keyboards are way nicer.

No wonder he was on life tilt before taking a break from streaming. Hands down one of the best physical players in bw all the while having his main tools break down must be rough.

IMO mechanical keyboards are way nicer. I think you misunderstood me. I never said that mechanical keyboards weren't nicer, and of course they show hardly any sign of wearing out (mine for example starts to do so just now, after 10 or so years, and just a little; then again I don't play 12h a day, haha). I meant that for those progamers, if you had learned the game on a rubber-dome keyboard, there would be less of an incentive to switch to the (back then) more expensive and harder to get mechanical keyboards if the rubber-domes wouldn't even wear out that quickly. But in principle, and definitelly today with all the gaming-gear manufacturers: Team mechanical, for sure.

Is it because pros are getting old or mechanicals are better? I mean I wouldn't/couldn't switch from rubber dome to mechanical after 10+ years of hardcore practicing so I don't get it. Why wouldn't you if you figured out mechanical keyboards are way better. Pretty sure they register each keystroke better than rubber dome ones.

Yeah sure but QSENN DT-35 had legendary status in BW. For example, do you know why FlaSh switched to Razer Blackwidow during his SC2 career and switched back to rubber dome (which he still uses) when he came back to BW? Just habit? I mean, FlaSh who used ruler to adjust best position for his equipments definitely could've chosen mechanical to take advantage if it was better but somehow ended up going back to rubber. By the way, ASL S11 finals are tomorrow. So there isn't any hype up article? Could've been nice cause I really think this finals MUST deliver.

It's entirely possible that having different keyboards for different games is entirely to do with psychology (and cognitive science) and not with anything performance-related. Not saying that it is absolutely the case but just wanted to put it out there that there is merit to it.
