Bad for them, good for us, then prolly also bad for us. They'd probably pick YT anyway.

Way before Riot took full control of the League scene, they forced tournament organizers to drop any smaller game they viewed as competition. Dreamhack, for example, was once unable to do a Bloodline Champions tournament, because Riot basically told them they could not have League if they decided to run Bloodline Champions. Kespa also killed the GomTV Starleagues by pulling out one team after the other. @Highgamer: Afreeca crashing would be the biggest blow to BW since the Kespa SC2 switch. Compared to that, the Sonic scandal was nothing. Afreeca is a big part of why BW was able to survive when everyone went to SC2 and they even stepped in to run a Starleague when we lost SSL. Most eSports nowadays would collapse if the devs pulled out, but thanks to Afreeca BW would be just fine if Blizz dropped KSL. I highly doubt Youtube or Twitch would give the same support to BW that Afreeca is...

Makes ne think that If the scene moves to Twitch for whatever reason, pro teams and a kespa-like org should come back because we would be missing a huge events organiser that sustain his initiatives from streams subscriptions and donations. *Events, including the extremely important amateur tournaments

It doesn't really seem any better than kespa in terms of supporting lower tier players, but then they also aren't forced to play 10+ hours a day for no pay.

If Afreeca crashes, you can say goodbye to the Korean BW scene. Afreeca has been extremely important for helping keeping things going. Early on, a lot of the expros streamed on Afreeca than we got SSL etc... These pros barely get viewers on twitch, but they get lots on Afreeca and it makes sense when you consider BW's popularity.
