This is about Jangbi and his retirement. That's gonna be pretty hard when Jangbi actually states 'I'm not interested in SC2' as his reason. A lot of pros would avoid saying that, so it carries some weight that he said it anyway. Jangbi is the guy that in interviews during the last OSL said he wanted to keep playing BW in PCBangs even after it was gone. Whenever a BW pro retires it is always going to feel like an implicit criticism of what happened. It's pure conjecture, but it's easy to imagine Jangbi getting into the code S and thinking 'I don't even care' or 'I don't even feel excited about it' and deciding it was time to go. Jangbi could have said something like 'I want to spend some time with my family before I go to the army,' but that's not what he said at all, even though (of those I've met) Koreans are very family-minded. You've gotta keep it in context. Every BW pro that became anything and got on the A team gave up a lot to do that. 'I will practice 12 hours a day and give up other aspects of my life because this is so important.' That's why I think someone can get into Code S and think "I don't care." It's the same sacrifice for something way less meaningful to him. He loses his agency 'I decided to become a pro gamer and play BW' and has to think 'I tried to make the best of this and be positive, but it still feels wrong.' Fans have sympathy for the pros that were forced to switch and didn't like it, and they're going to express it. If it pisses you off that people feel sorry for Jangbi and how things went down, and that they've chosen to blame SC2... don't read replies in a thread like this cause it was never going to be anything else. SOSPA is the embodiment of this phenomenon. Following that thought but less directed at you: For me one of the things I liked most about Jangbi is that he was a player with a lot of heart. He always said in interviews he was going to have fun with the match, even in an important final. This retirement feels like an extension of that. Something doesn't feel right in his heart about it, and he's listening to that. He doesn't wanna play if his heart is not in it, even if he could nab some prize money. I respect that a lot.

I have had zero interest in SC2 for a while now too. If you don't have that drive/motivation/ambition, then what's the point? I don't blame him in the least. GL HF to one of my favorite BW players ever~!

I have a special place in my heart for Jangbi. I had long loved watching PL and being on the edge of my seat in tense situations. But Jangbi's OSLs had me jumping like a little school girl hiked up on sugar. It was the last time BW made me feel that way and I am so glad I got to experience it. A protoss actually being the best. I wasn't around for the age of the dragons, so this was really special for me. I wish him the best as he brought great joy to my heart. I hope he hops on SSL to stomp some terrans here and there.

He made me like BW Protoss even as a Bisu / Stork hater ( somewhat ).
