Nice initiative, thanks Caihead. Is Protoss the most popular race in China?

Because Zerg and Terran requires massive amount of practice and Chinese players don't have enough time on their hand (family, careers and etc.), Protoss became the most played race.

So Ive noticed something kinda interesting about the Chinese Scene!
Theyre almost like "Frenemys".
Teammates in GC Opponents in C-OSL Sometimes both in CSTL Kinda mixed up in CFTB
How friendly are the Chinese Players to each other in general?

I can certainly help, but I don't know how much free time I have given that I work 11-12 hours a day lol
Chinese tournaments are pretty big, total prize pools range from US$1000 to close to $10000.
Top player is definitely, without question Fengzi (Z), who was a pro during BW's haydays. Runner up is probably Zhanhun (P), who's a second generation player (early 20s). Jaystar (P) is probably really high up there as well, who is also an ex-pro. Number four is probably Leilei (T), who is also an ex-pro. The difference between Fengzi and the rest is pretty big. Leilei is also quite a bit worse than Jaystar and Zhanhun.
Most recent tournaments invite Koreans to participate, including Scan and Zelot. Beast was never invited to participate in tournaments, but often for showmatches. Scan is just a slightly above Fengzi (partly because Fengzi has bad ZvT), so he's having a great deal of success winning prize money.
Most recently, three tournaments have concluded, but the next ones are being planned and will happen shortly.

A rough summary of everything that's happening right now: Individual leagues: C-OSL is in the third run, with a new 2v2 segment. FBL is in the second run. SCNL (new league launched by scntv) is running C-OSL-BIRD amateur league in conjunction with C-OSL is in first run
Team leagues: The STL is in the 26th iteration Forum battles between different community hubs occurs frequently.
Offline and online events in major cities are organized on roughly a bi-monthly basis, no real guarantee or pattern to when these happen though, will have to update as they come. A list of the events that have happened can be found here: http://www.liansai.net/matchlist.aspx?class_id=2
Teams: The majority of teams are still active as clans, information on players and teams can be found here: http://www.liansai.net/ There are still 24 teams actively participating in STL, not counting the forum / community teams which there are around 5 to 6.
Major communities: Yaoyuan PlaySC 8da plu s.163 wfbrood liansai scntv (new, created by some of the oldest casters and community figures)
Player base is dominated by old legends (ex-pros) from the early 2000s early, racial distribution is usually protoss with the highest representation followed by a even split of terran and zerg. Chinese BW has the same problem with attracting new blood right now but there are a couple of younger players that are promising.
I'm busy with personal life to be making all these updates on a regular basis myself :< sorry guys. But I have all the contact infos if anyone wants to take over.

Can't believe there's so much BW going on, and no way to catch it all. I saw ZeLoT playing in the FBL, are a lot of the players we see in SOSPA tours participating in the chinese events as well?
