SC2 could live up to BW if it somehow was able to bring the better part of rest of the world into competitive SC. In ways BW did not. Whether it does that remains to be seen, but I doubt SC2 will ever be a success to a BW fan given all that has happened around BW and SC2 before and after SC2's launch. | ||

It has addiction generating mechanics like MMO games do. Leveling, grind for items and economization of scarce resources. As well as centered around team dynamics to decrease stress. These are very effective at targeting brains addiction generators, so traditional RTS games have no hope in competing with them. In a sense, it is likely SC2 is the last big RTS. | ||
