Ladies and gentlemen, the time has come! The new season of OSL is upon us, and since there seems to be a lack of it, I will be casting it!
So, OSL will be aired during Tuesdays and Wednesdays. My goal is to cast the games the same day as they are aired, but sometimes I can't do that, my schedule is to irregular. Although, I will cast all the OSL matches, from the dual tournament to the finals!
This thread is a bit late. Group A and B has already been played. I waited as long as I could to make this thread, and my hope was that Sayle would cast the OSL as well as PL. I even badgered him online several times about this matter. Some of you might have heard me cast alongside Sayle before, since I think he does a great job with PL. I do want everyone to be able to watch all BW games with english commentary, and since Sayle decided not to do the OSL, I've decided to do it instead!
I will try to cast OSL the same day as they are aired. I would love to give you a set time for the casts, but the reailty is that I can't, since my work is more or less 24/7. However, I will post my casts one week ahead with clear times stamps and dates so everyone knows what is going on.
I will stream through, and leave VODs on http://www.twitch.tv/ominousc2. I'm going to record the casts and upload them to http://www.youtube.com/user/OminouString as well.

Sound great, man! I don't know jack shit about BW strategies or build orders, I've never even played it except the single player, and somehow it's still my favourite game to watch I dunno why  Unfortunately this means that I miss quite a lot of what's going on when there's noone around explaining things to me in english and I have to read up on things later in the forums.

Great! I will definetly check our your YT channel. I still remember the times when we had something like 10 active, english BW Casters. One could find a new game almost every day... ahh, good old times 
Just for the record: you know that Nukethestars is casting the OSL - as he has been for many seasons. He isn't live/stream casting but you should find everything from the round of 16 on on his channel.

Yes, I'm a fan of his work, especially his hype videos. Those are awesome.

Liking this! One thing our scene needs more of is casters! If you would be willing to bring your abilities to foreign events, I'm sure you can find plenty to be doing. We may even end up co-casting at some point.

NukeTheStars does some groups but not live afaik. Don't know about other casters like DeJaVu.
But more casters the better go Ominus!!!.

I have some bad news regarding this weekends casts. I DL'd the tool for streaming that was recommended to me (XSplit) about 6 weeks ago and everything seemed fine. While trying to configure the stream during this week (since I didn't decide to cast the OSL until this monday) I discovered that the usage is now limited for 'free users'. Obviously I will buy the client, but I wont get my salary for this month until next week.
I will still be able to do the casts that I've promised to do this weekend - but in a lower quality. This will be most obvious regarding the sound. I am very sorry about this, but we'll have to do the best of the situation.
Either way, I'm looking forward to tomorrow, hope for some really GG's!

Don't worry, sayle's stream looked the same on 480p and not that bad on 360p. Either way old-schoolers are used to shitty vods, an ability to recognize supply counts is more than sufficient.

first of all : a big thanks for doing this.
The video quality of your twitch.tv vods is great, allthough twitch.tv itself sometimes does stupid shit .
the audio is a little strange. I dont know wether its your mic or what it is, but its sometimes really ...bad. I cant really describe it. Maybe you could listen to yourself and understand what I mean?

Anyway, good casting! Ive watched all the ODT groups. You shouldnt worry too much about your casting being "stale". You're a new caster, doing so in a foreign language without anybody to fall back on. Very few people excel at that right off the bat. If your're bringing on a co-caster do it with the guy that during his co-casting with Sayle during SPL dissed Canata (and sounds a bit like Kennigit - im sorry but i couldnt find his name Edit: Vorosh). That guy was awesome.
Also this thread might be as good as place as any to ask, without starting a new thread:
Does anybody know if the dates for the OSL final has been settled? And if so, are they liable to change?
It would be amazing to see one final of the big three in person before BW dies. (not going into a debate on this - just saying its better to take precautions). Going to korea to see an OSL and GSL final would be friggin amazing.

Yes, I used to post some on GG.net, around 4k posts in total I do believe. The reason I stopped posting doesn't have anything to do with the mods though, but thats a story for another time and place.

OSL Ro16 starts next week! I will cast the games pretty late the coming 2 weeks because I work late. I hope that you guys can join me anyway for what seems to be the last BW OSL ever ()

Im tuning in, at times there are some pretty huge errors, and at times its really good and exciting commentary. Just keep casting and it will eventually be awesome !

Good news everyone! I won't have to split my youtube clips anymore, I can now upload longer clips. The vods for tonights cast, however, I really messed up, starting game 1 and 4 a few minutes into the game. Streaming, casting, recording and trying to listen to my excellent co-caster was a bit much to handle after 9 hours of work. Watch the VOD on twitch.tv instead for the whole cast.

Seems like my stream got taken down for listening to RHCP before the cast. Can't think of any other reason. I do aplogize for that, but there is not much I can do right now. Have to wait for an answer from the guys over there.

WTF? Your channel got deleted for listening to a song? How does that even make sense...every player streams while listening to music that they surely don't have permission to use....why did this happen Ominous? I will not be able to do the first two sets of Ro8 on the same day as they are aired, I'm going on vacation. I will do them on Saturday the 23rd since I'm going on vacation for two weeks. I did however promise that I would cast every single game from the OSL and I do intend to live up to that promise.
From that point on I will cast the rest of the sets on the same day as they are played, and of course, doing the finals live. That should be awesome.
Feel free to join me for the rebroadcasts, if you don't, I do hope you watch the games in some other way. My goal was always to provide an alternative for those who can't watch it live, or don't want to watch it with korean commentary (or just simply prefer english commentary), and I'm glad for everyone of you who had decided to support me! Much love.

However, in games 1 and 3 of the match between Hyvaa and ZerO the ends are missing. This is due to the source of the VOD's which I apologize for.
The full length vods with english commentary is found at http://www.youtube.com/user/NukeTheStars if you would prefer to watch those. Game 1 was over about 10 seconds after it got cut but game 3 went on for about another 5 minutes or so.

My journey is starting to come to an end. Today I did the last rebroadcast of the OSL. Every single game from the Dual tournament to the Ro4. I don't regret a thing. Please feel free to join me on August 4th for a live cast of the finals. I can't promise you much but I can promise you good games and me crying if JangBi wins.
Coming from SC2 (at least as a caster, always been a BW player and observer at heart, been playing online since 06), as a swedish caster, I didn't expect much starting to cast BW in english. Being an swedish caster in SC2 is one of the most fun jobs I've had but also one of the most ungreatful ones. The swedish community, although some supporters, has always been very anti and is not afraid to express it either.
But you have all recieved me so well. Even from my early casts, struggling with streaming, struggling with the language, game knowledge and a lot of other things, I've almost exclusively got nice comments, thank you's, and positive feedback. I am so greatful to all my viewers that have joined me throughout the tournament and my casts.
I would also like to thank some other persons:
DejaVu119 - Offering to help me out with the casts, doing a great job at it as well. Thank you for messaging me on TL.net and asking to help out. You have made the experience a whole lot easier and also more entertaining for the viewers.
Hacklebeast - DejaVu having moved, started a new job, and all that comes with that, I found myself without a co-caster for some of the bigger games towards the end. I didn't hesitate to contact Hacklebeast who had done a lot of awesome job with non-korean BW and asked him to help me out. He did so willingly and I thank you for it!
Sayle - I found this TL.net thread about Sayle starting to cast PL, every single game of it. Cool, I thougth, checked it out and asked Sayle if I could join him a couple of times. He obliged and had me on for a few casts. That is the start of my casting. When the PL season was runnin towards an end I often tried to get him to cast OSL as well. He was torn in doing so, but finally decided not to. Although feeling like I was taking his god given right to cast it, I made this thread and tried my best. Although, those feelings went away when I read Sayle write this:
"...there was a point where I felt that the fate of foreign BW rested on my shoulders. Thankfully though, there are now some really great English commentators picking up the slack. ...(like) OminouS picking up the English rebroadcasts of OSL"
So I guess thank you Sayle for indirectly making me a caster!
NukeTheStars - Although having no direct contact with him, thank you for living and breathing OSL at your Youtube channel for years, and putting so much time, effort and money into the game we love. Make sure you will check out his hype videos in the past, and also the one (that I hope) will come for this one! Should be awesome. Also a big thanks to all the youtube casters for all the work they have done througout the years, like Klazart, Cholera, Moletrap, Diggity and Rise to name a few. There are others out there as well.
Finally, big thanks to the players, casters, streamers, managers, teams and everyone else involved in the korean BW scene that I don't even know exists for giving me not only the best game ever but providing me with so much entertainment and joy throughout the years. I love you all!
(I realize this post is a bit cheesy, but it's my 1k post and I actually love this game with all my heart)
Either of you choose to join me, the korean casters, or someone else entirely, please, make sure that you will catch this last ever OSL finals! I guarantee you, you wont regret it!

Its kind of a bitch, cause I feel not watching the last OSL live is disrespecting all the enjoyment Ive had through out the years. Well well, I'll be with you in spirit and watch the VODs later.
