Hey all you VOD lovers out there. I just finished setting up a slim but (hopefully) functional
BitTorrent Tracker on TL.net's server. Hopefully this will be a nice solution for sharing recent VODs.
The tracker is a really basic one, and if it doesn't work or has too much trouble, we'll look for something more fully featured. Some of the code was modified to simplify it for our uses, and to integrate it with TL.net a little. This is only to be used for SC VODs (preferably of games within the last two weeks or so). Right now, only registered users can upload a torrent file. As usual, the normal abuse warnings apply here too. People who try to use it for anything other than it's intended use will be banned. If it becomes a problem, upload access will be restricted to trusted individual users only. Also, if the traffic from this starts slowing down our website, it will have to go. Hopefully it won't be a problem.
So anyone with a recent VOD can simply create a torrent file and upload it to the tracker. Then the tracker will host the file and announce it too of course. Once uploaded, just include the link to the torrent file in your post. Below are instructions for creating .torrent files and uploading them.
Anyway, enjoy ^^

Uploading .torrent Files to TL.net's Tracker
- Just make sure you're logged into TL.net, and go to http://teamliquid.net/vods.
- Near the bottom of the page should be the link "Upload a .torrent".
If it's not there, it doesn't think you're logged in for some reason.
(If that happens, try logging in at http://teamliquid.net/ (no subdomain)) - Locate the .torrent file, give a descriptive name for the VOD, then click Upload.
- If successful, go back to the index page. The new name should be at the top of the listing.
That's it ^^ Remember to seed as long as possible so it helps everyone out.
[Note, I think I'll sticky this for awhile to make sure all the potential uploaders have a chance to see it.]
