WHO WOULD GET THE SILVER?!?!!
Because Starcraft 2 is a failure, they couldn't actually afford gold. The loser gets a silver medal, and the winner gets another silver metal painted yellow.

thats common practice in actual sports competitions...

summary: it is said that he has no interest in going to SC2, and while he won't be progaming any more, he's still likely to work in an esports-related career such as going on gaming TV shows
He certainly looked like he enjoyed himself on Hyungjoon's show.
It was a long career and he didn't believe he had any more chances left for a gold. I'm happy he played for all these years, it's longer than many of you may think. Hong Jin Ho definitely made his mark.
To be honest I hate every person who suggested he play SC2 instead. That would just be the loss of all dignity for Yellow. Boxer, an unbelievable legend, has already been brought down so low. It's not just about being able to live as a progamer, it's about being the best... You can't be the best if you purposely try to go somewhere with softer competition. That would just be too sad... I don't want to see any more legends desecrate their careers this way.
Well, I suppose it's appropriate that he waited for BoxeR to leave BW first. :|
It's always sad to see a legend pass, but I think this was definitely a good decision by YellOw. He knows that his prime as a player has been over for a long time - if he doesn't want to be a coach or a commentator, leaving altogether is surely the best decision for his future. Like he said in his farewell, the guy is almost thirty. He's already a legend in progaming, I'm not surprised that there are other things he wants to accomplish now.
Best of luck in the future, Jin-Ho! You won't be forgotten, even latecomers like me will remember and respect your name.

I disagree. It's no more of an indignity for BoxeR to play SC2 than it was for him to play BW after his prime as a player. Nobody can be the best forever (or even for more than a short while), and all of the old legends know that. If he doesn't want to play SC2, that's one thing. I honestly think it's pretty insulting to him to say that being anything besides the best (well, second best) isn't enough. Yes, competition in SC2 isn't as tough as it is in BW, but that wouldn't make YellOw (or Boxer, Nada, or July) a quitter for trying. There are a lot of things in life that are easier than being among the best BW players in the world, it doesn't reflect poorly on one of these players to try out something else.
And for what it's worth, BoxeR seems like he may have made another Iloveoov and SKT1. Say what you want about his current skills as a player, the man loves E-Sports, and he's doing a hell of a lot to make it even better. Do you think Iloveoov wants pity for coaching Fantasy to his first OSL victory, now that he's not a top player himself? I'm sure BoxeR feels the same way. (SC2 fans: Yeah, I don't mean the Super Tournament, I know MMA hasn't won that. Yet. I also know that BoxeR isn't a literal coach any more, but it's clear that he has a strong leadership role in SlayerS.)

Do you even know what Boxer is doing in SC2?
Losing?
Omg what a Troll, he not only created the best Pro-gamer Team on Sc2 so far? (Results prove it), but he is creating a Dinasty on SC2.

Or creating the greatest sc2 team ever...
edit: But let's not derail this thread. It's indeed sad to see Yellow retire. I for one was hoping to see him play for at least once(like reach did).
