Sad to see Yellow retire, I doubt that will be the last we see of him though. I'm sure the love of Starcraft will bring him back in one way or another.

I think the retirement of some of the old legends is long overdue tbh. I mean we like sort of having them around but at the same time what are they accomplishing/doing with their lives?

Sad to see him go. Not many progamers have been able to maintain a high level of skill for as long as he has. Hope he sticks around, KT could use him as a Zerg coach since Zergbong is gone.

In a sad, strange way I think it would be bad (not, evil kind of bad, but popularity kind of bad) for BW if Yellow decides to play SC2 professionally. Yellow was easily the most popular of the remaining legends, and still had the skills to play here and there and bag wins vs the younger generation. If he went to SC2 to join Boxer, then things would have come full circle and people might take it as an omen that SC2 is now the successor of BW. And that would be the true catalyst for the takeover (especially if HotS improves the multiplayer experience tremendously) by SC2 of BW.

Just speculating (cause the news kinda depressed me - I was hoping KT would field him and Reach next PL season).

But if Yellow joins SlayerS that would be awesome.

He's said explicitly that he's not going to play SC2, although there's a possibility for some career in the e-sports industry.

Edit: I don't quite understand the sentiment when people say it's 'sad' that he's leaving. I'd say the feeling is more like bittersweet, akin to your college graduation. You will miss all the great times, but you now have another path in life you need to walk, one which is also going to be filled with it's own challenges and rewards. It would be FAR more sad if he stayed on KT as a bench warmer for another 5 years.

I feel like an alien in this thread but I'm happy about this.

Nothing hurts more than seeing alltime greats taking place on the bench or playing and looking like they don't belong on the field. His legacy is too big for that.

Yellow will forever be my favorite gamer. His aggressive play redefined zerg and I'm completely convinced that he's one of the smartest people to ever play the game. He almost always won because he outplayed his opponent somehow and made them look like total fools.
