As long as the guy/person/opponent isn't one of the above. I like my chances. Hell, I would pick anyone one of them! Hell I would even pick Boxer or oov to play for me because the other guy would need a lot of luck to beat them in a bo5. Hell, I would have Gorilla Terran Donkey Kong smash his wrists so he wouldn't even be able to play.
Perhaps you should rephrase the question to him countering you by picking another pro after. O;
Since the list is who would defend your life if the games were played right now, I didn't think Boxer would qualify. Would you want someone who can't even make it into Starleague defending your life?
LastShadow because I appreciate godly macro/micro play. Also nobody would expect a shadow rush coming. If I lost I could at least blame that the games weren't played on WGT[14]-Tau Cross(ob) on UMS settings.
My 2nd pick would be this guy, if anyone remembers

flash 3-0ed jaedong in a bo5 last finals
Anyway, hypothetical situations in which I would DIE if the representative lost leaves no mindful choice except FLASH. He is incredibly consistent in all three matchups, whereas the next best option, Jaedong, wouldn't surprise anyone if he lost a bo5 to an S-class TvZ player.
Also, any protoss would be a bad idea simply because PvZ is fucking hard and you don't want to take the risk of the killer being a zerg when your life is on the line.
Since I can't know my opponents race, Flash. What if my opponent is Z, and Jaedong has to play ZvZ? It's way more luckbased than any T matchup... even though it's JvZ.
If I knew my opponents race, though, I'd pick Jaedong if he was a protoss (Because if Protoss gets really lucky, Terran can lose to some garbageface cheese. ZvP on the other hand - no worries at all). Besides, is Jaedong really going to lose to a protoss? I mean really?
Ehhhh I know this is going out on a limb by not picking the two clear favorites, but I choose iloveoov. Most dominant figure in progaming ever imo, and he's 5-0 in finals. One clutch motherfucker. Although I guess for this answer to be legitimate it would have to be an in prime oov instead

It could be Flash/Jaedong etc and they learned English.

Man you have never watched a proleague finals.
Because not winning 12 hatch vs 9 pool is a choke. Or any of the other games. The one vs Fantasy on Outsider? Great game The one vs Fantasy on Medusa? The game where Fantasy admits that anyone could've won with that strategy in the interview? The one vs Frozean? Sunken bust. Admittedly, this is the one game Jaedong actually played subpar in.
in desiding between jaedong and flash, Jaedong's last 9 games: WWWWWWLWW 8-1 Flash's last 9 games: LWLWLLWLW 4-5 And if you want to take chokle factor into account, most of the flash L's are in ace maches meaning higher pressure than other matches, although I personaly dont believe flash has a choke problem.
Hmm I am a huge JD fan but I must shamefully admit that I consider Flash to be... better... usually. Although I do think Jaedongs "flashes" (xD) of brilliance can kill Flash, he performed better recently. (at least in the games that i have seen, dunno about that 8-1 vs 4-5 records =D)
Flash, save my sorry ass but Jaedong Hwaiting!!! (unless that person challenging "me" picks him of course, then I hope he goes for a lurker-rush on GreatBarrierReef every game)
Believe it or not, I pick Stork. The guy is probably a newb and Stork is the anti-newb player. He has so many anti-newb strategies that messes with their minds. Kinda like how he does against foreigners at WCG. Its a combination of an annoying and dominant style. Flash and JaeDong are probably the stronger players, but I feel they are more succeptible to cheese than Stork.
I picked Bisu because he seems to be the best person ever at the art of the "APM Fuck." He'll just do 4 things at once and the gunman will break down and cry. Also, Bisu's scout Probe will likely enough get like 3 worker kills.
Lol yeah, he would just walk out of the booth and go like "do we have a problem here?" in a deep voice and then happily let the bullets bounce off his muscular body and just bend the barrel of the gun
reach is cool, too bad my interest for starcraft was not yet in existence back when he used to own =( i guess i missed a lot of great history
At the moment, unknown opponent no prep... EffOrt. I have more faith in his winning streak and ability to demolish Flash than I do in either Flash's superb potential or the apparent return of angry Jaedong. His closest competition in this department atm is Fantasy.
(I really, really wanted to say great, but that seemed a little unrealistic. He's not quite that good. Sea's another who's very very close to that level. If I have to pick a Protoss, free.)
To be honest, I'd be a little more concerned about WHY a stranger is pointing a gun at my head and asking me about Starcraft. The OP requires more backstory, imo.
On July 02 2010 06:15 Chairman Ray wrote: Jaedong. Jaedong is definitely better in unprepared matches.
I think Flash is just as good to be honest, which is why he's so good in PL.
Bisu on the other hand is a great preparation player who does well in series matches, but poorly in PL. Currently, I'd pick Jaedong simply because his vs P is pretty much auto win and his other MUs are pretty damn solid. Something just isn't right with Flash right now. Might be because people are getting accustomed to his playstyle or have studied it enough to make adjustments that punish his builds and timings.
Truthfully, I'd pick JD, then Flash, then Effort, then Stork, then maybe Bisu.
As others have mentioned, this random person is probably going to lose to any progamer, so I'll choose Kwanro and carry on with my day 15 minutes later.
oh man, i wanted to choose flash so much... but it would have been a lie. after some inner struggle i had to be honest and admit that atm, after all of flash´s failing, i´d choose jaedong.

you'd want someone who can perform under pressure on any map, against any opponent with little to no preparation.
surprised a lot of people chose jd.
And that is where Jaedong is amazing at :D.
I chose jaedong of course even though he got 3-0'd in the MSL finals it would not happen again. Jaedong's bo5 is amazing I would trust him more then flash any day (specially as of late).

2010 shinhan round5 angrydong is absolutely amazing. but the winner's league stars are: whoa, they have that shivers-up-your-spine evoking prescence that can dominate whole teams.
Fantasy. He wouldn't just 3-0 gun guy, he'd do it in style.
Also, SKT, with a metaphorical gun to coach Park's head, chose fantasy over Bisu to win the proleague finals. And everyone saw Bisu as the player to take out Jaedong, but fantasy was the one who got it done.
Jaedong is the popular poll bonjwa, no doubt. He has the intensity to make whoever has a gun aimed at you crap their pants and then he'll proceed to 4pool rape them, no lube.

That's actually because that was just the ace match and there was still the super ace afterwards, so SKT had two chances to win. They decided to send out the mentally weaker under pressure player first (fantasy) to try and cheese a win, and if that failed they were going to send Bisu (they mentioned this in the post-match interview).

Baby of course because the stranger would still go to jail even if he won and decided not to shoot me.
iloveoov. Because that badass is clutch under tense situations yo! Anyone else when they find out your life is in the hands will probably be nervous as hell... Oov however is a mental Rock!
idk man, i've always had this vibe about the oz coach having a 1 up on all other coaches cuz he has jaedong. in proleague finals/regular ace games, etc. he always has this smurk on his face of confidence, when in doubt he sends in the best player ever in sc1 ( at least in my eyes).
so if i was to ever send anyone to challenge this masked menace it would be jaedong. i'd also make him wear his SL pins because they are sexy
The reason he says uh oh is because he now thinks because flash beat Jaedong 1 time in a BO5 (and pretty convincingly) that Jaedong is not as good because of 1 time.
It was pretty obvious that Jaedong wasn't really playing his A game imo as he got slaughtered and looked like a noob sadly but thats why he said it hehe not true of course I think if they ever do play again Jaedong will win .
thread might as well be called 'who do you think is the best player vs. completely uncertain terms?' because realistically i would just disarm the guy, the person is close enough if they can touch my head with the gun, and they wouldn't shoot me anyway because they obviously want something from me. that's ignoring the fact that a random guy who'd point a gun at me and demand i play is probably not a progamer, so any progamer would likely beat him.

It would but the OP used this purely to prove a point in the Power Rank. But the added bonus is that its failing him now that TLnet is voting more for Jaedong than Flash.

Not purely to prove a point (I've been wanting to do something like this for a while, but with Flash's uber dominance, I didn't think there would be a point) or else this would have been just a Flash/Jaedong poll. But of course, people who disagree with things I say only read what they want to read in my posts, rather than actually reading them. Evidently reading comprehension is a serious issue.
Can we stay on the topic now, or are you going to hijack this into Power Rank discussion 2.0?

you should stick with flash.
JvZ is back (discounting the 35 minute game with yellow), and JvP is currently the most ridiculous matchup there is, lol. With the way that JD has been playing lately vs the way Flash has been playing, it's really an obvious choice.
That genius Ver has already thought of this problem:
There is an easy answer to the question of: If you had to pick someone to play for your life, who would you choose? In the highest pressure scenario possible, OSL/MSL finals, oov was unmatched.
iloveoov 3-0 Yellow Trigem MSL iloveoov 3-2 Nada Hanafos MSL iloveoov 3-2 Kingdom Spris MSL iloveoov 3-2 Boxer Ever 04 OSL iloveoov 3-0 Julyzerg Shinhan Bank OSLp

Lol, you made this poll EXACTLY for the Power Rank discussion. I seriously doubt any other reason for which you made this thread.
I'll pick stork if that guy will be selected from all progamers, it'll probably some low tiered progamer and stork has the best anti-newb tactics from all progamers imo (look at his wcg matches, he simply messes around with foreigners)
