The passion and hard work of these players..

Players showing tears after winning/losing important/not so important (but important to them) matches.

Edit: Thanks OpticalShot for the translations.

+ Show Spoiler +

Title: "What Ma-Garbage Betrayed" (TL note: also roughly close, you can replace 'betrayed' with 'tainted' 'ruined' 'disgraced' etc. Also, Ma-Garbage refers to... Ma Jae Yoon aka sAviOr, Roll-Ex, Oops[Busted], etc.)

1) YoonJoung (Shuttle) shedding tears after qualifying for a StarLeague

2) Olympus StarLeague finals, XellOs beat YellOw and in the interview, said "I love you mom" and burst into tears.

3) the fifth Royal Roader to win the title! // Sol Starleague Winner, Anytime! // the dream he never gave up // Sol Starleague, Anytime sheds tears after defeating BoxeR in the finals.

4) 5 silvers in major tournaments // when his opponent shed tears of joy // when his opponent shed tears of joy, he shed his own in backstage. // Olympus StarLeague finals, YellOw crying silently backstage after being defeated by XellOs.

5) After beating Stork in the finals, Jaedong embraces his mother and sheds tears.

6) (TL note: the direct translation is "complete championship" but I think it's referring to the SKY Proleague 2006 Playoffs) With the game lost and hopeless, firebathero is unable to type GG (TL note: because he is sad. T_T) and he cries in to his keyboard.

7) Shinhan Proleague Pre-Playoffs (TL note: 3rd/4th place team match. I think this was in 2009), CJ vs. Hite game 1 ace match on Colosseum, Leta loses to Movie and stays in his booth, crying.

8) I thought it would be difficult // when I saw my dad in the crowd // I gained mental strength and was able to comeback (and win the title) // [dad was] always a strong, confident figure // Daum Starleague finals, GGPlay comes back from a 0:2 deficit to win the title in a counter-sweep, 3:2. During the interview, he talks about the impact of his father and cannot hold back his tears.

9) MSL Ro32, Tempest defeats RuBy to advance to Ro16 and sheds tears.

10) NaDa crying after being defeated by JangBi in the Ro8 (TL note: tournament not mentioned) by a score of 2:3.

11) we were the underdogs // we are proud to be on the finals stage // you [fans] cheered for us and gave us support (It's alright) (TL note: the 'it's alright' probably the crowd reaction) // we are sorry (It's alright) (TL note: same as above) // After losing in the finals to Pantech EX, TheWinD and Yooi shed tears during the interview.

12) Bisu crying at the farewell party as he leaves MBCHero to join SKT1.

13) this victory and glory // I dedicate it to my father in heaven // this moment, we all cried (TL note: this blurb is probably the broadcaster's comment) // Shinhan Starleague Season 2, Nada defeats Anytime 3:2 in the finals and wins the tournament, claiming his golden mouse. During the interview, he makes the dedication and cries.

14) Avalon MSL Semifinals, Calm sheds tears after his victory over Jaedong.

15) (TL note: Lost Saga MSL 2009 based on the mentioned players) After losing in the finals to Luxury, JangBi burst into tears when he saw his mother.

... sigh

... savior and those other cheating sons of bitches.

originally i was pretty sympathetic to those match-riggers
but... after looking at all those pictures, and the tears and sweat all those progamers endured on their way to their goals...

it really makes me pissed off how... lightly those cheaters had taken e-sports

p.s. i'm surprised they didn't show boxer's emotional loss too Oov... that was one of the most emotionally intense moments in SC history

These pictures are of progamers that actually worked hard to beat their opponents... op is saying these people are playing out of passion of the game and dedication while others are throwing away games for money...

i'll just select a few

"I don't play games, and don't know much about e-sports,

but after seeing this, I feel how wrong it was of savior

to do the things he did.."

"the one who gave these hard working people a bad name, ma trash.. (refers to savior)

stepping on all fans' faith who supported him, ma trash

ma trash won tournaments, had a high salary and made decent money so maybe he doesn't know..

all these players, even cry because they're happy, for reaching ro16, ro8.."

i left out the more vulgar comments haha
i'll translate more if you guys want..; but it's a very rough translation so, sorry ^^;

This one really got to me. I started watching professional StarCraft back when in late 2008, and I remember the picture of Jangbi crying when he lost. But with this, it would be horrible for all the B teamers and amateurs to never get a chance at their dream.

An excerpt from an interview with savior from the thread, http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=98685

Q: What does Coach Cho mean to you? How about CJ Entus? Be honest!
Savior: Since I'm the only player to win a title after CJ was founded, I still think of Ma Jae Yoon (Note:himself) when I think of CJ. Through all those leagues, foreign tournaments, superfights, etc, I was always wearing the CJ uniform.

It's like a pillar (Note: the Korean connotation here is something he can really rely on for stability) for me, the team. I hope a lot of winners come from this team after me.

Perhaps he's referring to the calm vs hwasin match long ago where there was debate on whether or not calm was telling him his strat.

The Calm/Hwasin incident at IEST (foreign tournament outside of KeSPA's sphere of influence) was never really debunked to everyone's satisfaction. STX denied the two fixed the final matches/claimed it was just mind games/competitive banter and it was up to people to draw their own conclusions. By most accounts they rigged it but due to the nature of the games things (as far as their progaming careers are concerned) went on before long and most let go of the incident.

Only the best of the best make that kind of money. Most earn rather meager paychecks, and you have to think in terms of long-term security, which for a progamer is probably more or less nonexistent, especially in an environment like Korea. Still, this doesn't make throwing games any less shameful.

Also, they didn't intend to get caught.

No. Only the biggest stars make money like that.

Imagine you're Savior. You go from nothing to a somebody. You're making six figures for playing a game. But you're slipping and progaming is a very temporary profession with no reliable follow-up career opportunities. Maybe you could stay near the top if you could get your game together, but the fire isn't in your eye anymore.

Intellectually, it's not hard to understand why these people did what they did. And I will still love Savior's gameplay. But I cannot forgive him even if I can understand it. That kind of selfish dishonesty puts the entire industry in jeopardy all for the sake of a quick buck. It betrays the teams and the fans.

On a smaller scale, it's like what Goldman Sachs does.

You know all those match rigging and stuff should be handled by the coaches and managers of the team. Think about it, the match rigging in Proleague only affected the team so the coaches or manager can choose to punish the player or not. In individual league, if you choose to lose a game or 2, then its YOUR problem for doing so. No need to get the government into this.

The passion and hard work of these players..

Players showing tears after winning/losing important/not so important (but important to them) matches.

What's the name of that song playing?

God... I'm still in the denial/shock phase. Savior, our only freaking zerg bonjwa, who so many people admired, LED the parade of cheaters. It's kind of like finding out that your most favourite uncle ever molested you as a child.

I'll attempt to do a quick (full) translation for everyone:

Apologies for the rough job (I just did it as quick as I could), but if it helps, feel free to add it to OP. I also shed some tears during the translating process, especially at the NaDa part...

This makes me so mad right now. That said, I'm personally glad that of all the big old school names in BW, Savior was the only one involved. If someone like Boxer or Reach were implicated I might never be able to watch professional SC again.

If stealing lots of money from others doesn't warrant government intervention, and is solely a matter to be handled internally, then that's a pretty nice deal for the culprits. If you bet 1k on savior to win a game and he threw it, would you feel that only his team should have a gripe with it?

Did anyone remember here interview?

Excerpt:
+ Show Spoiler +

- What do you (Boxer) think of Savior? At your out of army interview it seemed like you want to teach Savior more.
▲ Boxer: During the Savior Era, he dominated everything and looked invincible. He is a very experiance played. During my out of army interview you guys asked me 'who is the player who seems to be most similar with you?' and I answered savior but I guess people took it as a 'apprentice' thing. But thats not what I meant. We both earned so much money but blew it all on useless stuff. When we started to try getting more money we started losing. Once a man is seduced to life's other fine entertainment, it is very difficult to get back up. But Savior is dealing with his problems very well. This is why I said we were similar.

- And what do you think of Boxer?
▲ Savior: Come to think of it, I do think what Boxer said is right... When I first started to be a progamer, I wanted to catch up to E-Sports icon Boxer Hyung. I tried very hard as to get up to that level. After hearing what Boxer Hyung said I agree with it 100%. Only people who lost everything they had can know this feeling. Honestly, I always felt Boxer Hyung is the only one who can understand my feeling. Because he knew how hard it is to go through, I think him understanding my position is thankful.

- When a top player falls to the ground, it is fact that a player to get back to their #1 spot is extremely difficult.
▲ Boxer: For players who reach their peak and fall back down it is very difficult to get back to their original state. You can't concentrate, and when practice isn't working out you seek for other pleasures. Women and alcohol mainly. Players who were at the top know the way back, but it is still very difficult. Players like us know how harsh reality is, and that is probably why it is the biggest factor.
After leaving the army, I decided on 1 thing. I don't want to screw around anymore and I think I can give up everything for gaming. Like the first time I came onto the e-sports scene, I want to sacrifice everything to get back to my original state.

▲ Savior: I agree with everything, especially how you have to sacrifice everything. When I was at my prime, I met people and just played. When I wanted to get back inshape, disconnecting myself with life's pleasures was so had. Not long ago I felt it, getting back in shape is a long, long way.

Lying through his teeth ... to Boxer.

It's funny how when an idol like Savior falls, people don't find it enough to think that he has destroyed his career his life, his future, his reputation and will probably end up in jail anyway. He fucked up, he pays for it, this hate is so fucking unnecessary.

In France we call that "shooting on an ambulance". Makes people feel better.

Ok, by your logic, we should not hate Hitler. Because his career was destroyed and his future when he lost the war, he committed suicide and lost his honor when he is known as one of the worst men in history and he is the butt end of so many jokes.

Because bad things have happened to a bad guy, therefore we shouldn't be mean to him anymore right and we shouldn't hate him for his crimes anymore? Interesting logic.

Uh yea, you ever hear of Tiger Woods?

You'd think with the press coverage he got he either ate babies or murdered 50 school children and buried them under his house.

No...he cheated on his wife.

What savior did was worse than that yes...but people are going to hate. They just do that.

Hate is a pretty strong word, that and your analogy is not the best because you're comparing someone who embezzled money to someone who committed mass genocide.

By the opposite extreme, should we hate Ashlee Simpson because she lip synced one performance of Saturday Night Live and destroyed her reputation? Should we hate Jerry Springer because he tried to run for Congress despite the fact that he runs such a lewd and lascivious show?

I think the assertion here isn't that "Savior did nothing wrong," it's that there really isn't any point to step on a man when he is down. In some ways that is a bit petty.

He's already going to live with that damaged reputation for the rest of his life. There is no need to attach so much emotional hatred to it when he'll already have to live with that guilt forever.

The focus is not on "hating" savior, it's on the consequences of his actions that not only he will feel, but the entire esports industry.

The proper analogy I think is this: you spent ten years to make a plane that is capable of flight for the first time in human history. You worked tirelessly, sleeping little and knowing little of life's pleasures. Then, this guy "savior" comes along and smashes it. His crime is petty, he will probably be charged a fine for damaging your property. But the entire world will "hate" on him for destroying something that could've been great, and that you worked your hearts out for.

I know. This story makes me laugh so much. People and medias are the obscene one in the whole thing, much more than TW. Nobody should give a fuck about his damn private life.

Hitler did something which was one of the most monstruous thing ever done by mankind, and for the most monstruous reason one can imagine.

Savior cheated a game to make some money.

If you want some very rational explanation of my reasonment, Hitler's death is nothing compare to what he did. Savior will pay 100 times the damage he did, all his life. I don't say it's unfair, it's perfectly normal, but shitting on him because he has fallen when everybody was considering for equally bad reason as a semi god a couple of month ago is a bit indecent.
