Now if/when your favorite player turns out to be in the middle of a scandal, it might bother you, and you're right, some might give up on the sport entirely, but that is generally not the case. Some people write said player off, some stick by them regardless for their other accomplishments, but most will find new favorites to follow. As for Boxer, if he were theoretically found to be guilty of such a thing, it would indeed tarnish his image (and make e-sports look bad), but it would not take away from his accomplishments, and he would still remain a starcraft icon (much like I expect savior to be if indeed he is guilty and is forced to quit, after everything dies down a bit). I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree here. Because teams have no regional affiliation, most people pick the team that has their favorite players on it. If your favorite players were all taking bribes, you will care a lot less.

The investigations on him, the fact he was booted off the A-team and demoted from captain in March, the fact that the media has all but said its him without releasing his name because they can't.

CJ Progaming team revealed that they will strongly respond to false accusations about their gamers accused of fixing games. A CJ affiliate phoned Fomos to let them know about rumors flying around about Savior. They mentioned, "Savior indeed is going through knee surgery. There has been no talk among the team about retiring or displacing Savior." The affiliate added that the investigation about match fixing is on-going and that no one should jump to conclusions that tarnish the reputation of any of the CJ players before anything is confirmed. "As long as these malicious rumors keep spreading to destroy players' reputations, we will strongly respond to them." On the other hand, there have been many articles in the e-sports community about who has fixed matches. According to Code 307, these accusations fall under libel and can be punished under law. Even if the accusations are true, by Code 310, accusers can avoid penalties only if additionally, the accusations were made for the greater good. --- Basically, CJ Entus is standing by its players, at least until proven guilty. Also, we finally seem to get an answer to why suspects in Korea cannot be named -- newspapers do not want to be charged for libel in case the accusations are false or revealing names is not considered helpful to the "greater good". THE PLOT THICKENS AKA CJ Entus is continuing to lie and try to keep the bullshit knee surgery excuse alive

It could be true love and all...but a move like that for someone whose job prospects outside ESPORTS are probably not that hot, and even in ESPORTS are more due to his past accomplishments and reputation rather than his current skill? This, too. Dude, Boxer is probably a millionaire. He still gets a 300,000 salary on name alone and plus endorsements. If he's invested that money well he's fine.

![]() I'm not that surprised though because shit like this is rampant in any sport, comes with being a professional sport, but its still saddening. I think the most annoying thing about it is how it puts a lot of shit into doubt even it wasn't actually tainted by match-throwing.
