He just stated he will come back and participate in the next Starleague Preliminary,

After today's Proleaugue match in Ongamenet ended with + Show Spoiler +
Ace's victory
and after the winner's interview, nal_ra proclaims that he will participate in next Starleague Preliminary!!
When today's match was about to wrap up and go to commercial, caster Jun Yongjun asks nal_ra whether he has something to announce to the fans. (The whole thing was obviously planned ahead by ongamenet.)
nal_ra hesitating at first, brings out the fact that he still has a 'progamer license', stuttering a bit. Then he goes on to say that he will comeback as a progamer in the next Starleague final. He says he will continue to be a caster while trying his shot at qualifying the preliminary.
He says although he had several occasions where he did not pass the preliminary in the old past, he had never felt that it was out of his reach. He says he has a 'small but profound confidence' in participating and passing the preliminary.
He knows that it is not gonna be an easy road, but he will try his best to make it happen.
(Upon asked whether his goal was to merely participate in the preliminary by the cater Jun Youngjun) He says "No. Of course not. My goal is not to just participate in the preliminary. I want to qualify the preliminary and advance to the next stage. I want to spur some things up."
============
Merely a month ago in an episode of 'Dwitdamhwa', (An ongamenet program where four ongamenet caster meet up and talk about various behind stories of Korean starcraft progaming scene.) nal_ra hinted his strong desire to become a progamer again by light-heartedly saying that he and the other 'old progamers' are still able to advance to starleague. Other casters expressed their usual thoughts on the subject; -how they are dying to see those old gamers comback and make history once again in Starleauge -how realistically it is nearly impossible because of the skill gap that exists between the old gamers and the newly hardcore trained young guns. -how despite its unlikelihood, it will rock this whole progaming scene altogether if say for example boxer/yellow/nada (and so on) advance to Starleague
It was then nal_ra hinted that he might participate in the preliminary. (This program aired just few days before current Starleague's preliminary, probably filmed 10 or 15 days prior) Kingdom responding to nal_ra's desire with playful mockery, Um Jaekyung(the overmind) says that he will sincerely support nal_ra if he is seriously thinking about it. nal_ral then goes on to say how difficult it is for an individual progamer to find multiple practice partners because all the teams and their every team members(from top runners to online semi-pros) are jam packed with their daily routine match schedules within the team. Um Jaekyung then says, he will seek out appropriate practice members for nal_ra as long as he is seriously considering it. Then the program went on to discuss about other issues.

I was so shocked that I screamed "ah~~~~~~!" in my chair and almost fell off. This is about all I can share about nal_ra's comeback as progamer, and his personal thoughts as he expressed in recent ongamenet program 'Dwitdamhwa'
Yes of course. I root for him so much, and I just had to spread the news out of the blue. (as I did way back in the past for garimto) TL's always a fun place to comeback with SC news stuff =)
I am expecting fomos will soon post an interview about it.
going to still play with kt i assume? i'm really excited, especially after he proved that he can still beat a-team players (nada 2-1 in the revenge matches for example)
There's part of me that knows that this doesn't make sense and is probably a horrible, horrible idea, but most of me just wants to scream: GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Flower Toss!!!!!!
I just hope the Dreamer's comeback fairs better than the trashtoss's did.
I just hope his APM goes up and he doesn't have idle probes like he did during the Revenge Game. Actually... I think that was Light. Nal Ra maybe had 2-3 idle probes... where as Best had a CRAPLOAD of idle probes against Light.

ra already plays with like 300 apm. he was slow when he was a rookie but the coaches beat it out of him

He was known to have relatively low APM during his glory days, wasnt he?
WTF? Holy crap, KANG MIN FIGHTING! As much as I want him to succeed, I highly doubt he will and he'll probably tarnish that rep he has should he fail...I don't want that to happen, I'd rather he remain a legend, but I love watching him play.
Now, if only all the other players will follow his example and come back. Neo era of Bonjwa incoming.
I really hope Stork could help him with mechanics, if those two decide to work together their results will be phenomenal. Then we can see Flash really struggle hard...and when he wins, fuck yes I'm going to watch every single game that he does. TvP FIGHTING.

if you watch his recent games (well, only Revenge vs NaDa and Heritage League), his play (mechanics mainly) has significantly improved from say, 2007 period.
KTF publicity stunt, they can pretty much afford this because they are going to have the no1 playoffs spot no matter what they do.
Needless to say he'll fail and wont achieve much. If Boxer and Nada cannot do it now and they've been practicing in proteams, there is no reason Ra can( other than protoss imbalance offcourse)
God, I'm almost always too... seasoned? to get excited about stuff like this anymore: Old pros returning, an old favourite making a good OSL run etc, but this.. THIS!
rA my good old stealer of precious hours of sleep. You're back, my dreamer god! You're back!
can someone make about nal_ra to introduce him to players that werent familiar to progaming when he was playing.. seems like he was a protoss with some cool moves... anyhow hearing an old progamer coming back is always good news, i wish luck to him. would love to see some progamer teach new studs some lessons

You guys are way too optimistic. I'm not particularly excited about Nal_ra's attempt to break into the pro-scene once again (although it's an admirable feat indeed). More likely than not (not saying it's impossible, obviously), he'll just get raped, and I hate seeing old champions get raped by these young macro machines

D: Very true but still I just hope he at least beats the scrubs in the brackets and qualify
ya, would be nice. I think he's gathering the confidence after coming off the win against Nada in that revenge match.. so I hope he isn't completely discouraged if he loses a few times, trying for Starleague and retire again, like GARIMTO did =[
but i mean, Nal_rA always had that spark of ingenuity and creative play and make bold moves and cheeses in games that originally highlighted his career as "The Dreamer Protoss". I will watch and cheer on with vigor during his performances!

The only protoss that made me watch in awe other than Bisu was the little bit ive seen of Nal_rA, i hope he can show some brilliance in this age of mechanics.
Watchin' all that Starcraft, always talkin strategy... he must have gotten the bug really bad. At LEAST you know he is up to date on all the latest strategies, builds, unit combos and like macro styles.
Wow Nal_rA, this should be pretty interesting. Hopefully he can get the right amount of practice time in and get into shape. Good luck Nal_rA! show us some great games : )
Even though it will suck cos he will probably lose, if he gets a nice easy run or even comes back just to move to SC2 I'll be very happy! Will it be with KT again?
can this be a publicity stunt? Like, maybe the SC1 scene is trying to steal some thunder away from SC2? I know in American show business they try this type of stuff all the time.
Nal_rA is probably my favorite Protoss of all time, and I hope he goes far though the realist in me fears that he'll just get stomped by some kid who can macro well.
Nobody ever gives up StarCraft forever if they have a choice ^_^

if you retire and still have progaming license, then when do you lose your progaming license?
Actually, he never retired. MBC "borrowed" Nal_rA for a temporary commentator position and it just got stuck. When he renewed his contract with MBC and later OGN, he made sure that he would retain connection with KT and keep his progamer license.
Too bad he will just suck and drop out of the first round. It's hard enough for past bonjwas like Nada and Savior to come back. A commentator has no chance. *dons fire-proof clothing*

Searching. As far as I remember, map was Desert Fox?

I'm excited to read this, but realistically, I don't know if his unorthodox builds will have any effectiveness to today's players, who's defence is light years away from the old timers.
