People seem to hate this Baezzi guy just because he took the Jon747 account. Sure, but as far as I and many viewers are concerned, this is THE guy who has been consistent and fast and reliable when it comes to VODs.

Taking the Jon747 account or not is of little relevance. He can use another user name or whatever and it's still okay for him to request some help to compensate for his time and dedication.

I don't see why people recommending not donating to the guy just because of some conflict between him and TL.

depends, if u're a 12 yo then it's probably free, but if you're a professional IT guy making $100K/yr then it's $50/hour just for labor.

No, he was belittling Baezzi's effort, and indirectly, belittling Zatic's effort. Some of us do appreciate the time Baezzi and Zatic put in - as Zatic put it, it becomes a "grind" to do it timely, consistently, and for that long of a time.

The answer is obvious...TL needs to start collecting money to buy the follwing:
3 powerful computers with TV capture cards
Korean Cable (or whatever) with 3 boxes
Awesome Korean internet
And about $5 extra per month

Then just give it all to Chill or Artosis or one of the casters in Korea. They can hook all that stuff up in a closet somewhere and stream EVERYTHING 24/7 over to some server R1CH will undoubtedly write in 12 minutes which will automagically reencode the streams, cut out the commercials, then properly name and upload the VODs. It's that simple.

But yes, his contribution towards our SC community is quite significant. Unless someone else picks up the slack, him ceasing to upload would leave our community destitute.

Yeah, I agree. We'll have to overlook Baezzi's character (or maybe lack of character) and consider the positives he brings to the community. I definitely agree with Plexa bringing up that thread as it gives us a greater understanding of who we're dealing with, but at the same time, we can't deny the benefits that Jon747 account has brought to the Starcraft community and the benefits it has even brought to TeamLiquid.

The real tragedy is that oskyloveo has apparently stopped uploading. Baezzi isn't the problem. He's replaceable. He was a nice convenience, but eventually we'll find a way around him, and we won't have to rely on a person as fucked up as he is anymore. Good riddance.

You look like a great candidate to replace him. When will you be uploading vods within a day of the matches?

I assume you're calling out chava's calling out of Baezzi so I'll comment here.

Uploading VODs when you have a reliable source isn't that hard. I know, I used to do it for the TL tracker. [....]

1.) Click a few buttons to open up a window where you would download said VODs (for me a clubbox page way back in the day, for Baezzi apparently oskyloveo's webpage).
2.) Refresh every once in awhile until you see the VODs up.
3.) Begin downloading VODs.
4.) Come back in (hours) minutes when the downloads finish.
5.) Rename as you feel appropriate
6.) Click a few more buttons.

While I agree that the source is the actual bottleneck uploading to youtube is way more annoying than adding a torrent to a tracker. It's actually so much grind work that I almost can't believe Baezzi did this for so long. Actually maybe that's how he got insane haha.

I coded a bunch of tools that help with the process without those I would never be able to upload that much. Actually just uploading the TSL Vods once a week is already so annoying I can't imagine doing that every day good god.

I've never uploaded a video to youtube so I wouldn't know anything about the uploading there. Torrents were really easy to make, just tell your client to tell it to make a torrent and then upload it to the tracker.

If making youtube videos is actually a decent bit of work then yeah, I guess he's more worthy than I was making it out.

Right the real problem here is sc2gg. Let's bring back the rivalry!

I was wondering when you and this would show up.
I used to run SC2GG, if you remember that. Come to NHFFA discord. It's where a bunch of old players who all suck at BW hang out, as well as people who like to play FFAs for some reason. https://discord.com/invite/kWNQvnd

donating money to baezzi isn't going to make oskyloveo come back... kind of hard to believe that this whole time (at least 2-3 years) the entire foreign viewership has thrived predominantly on the work of only one guy. wfbrood would be a legit replacement if it weren't chinese and laggy.

Definitely. Surely there is some kind of way we can raise money as a community to support this great service. I won't be able to sleep at night without my Jon747 vids.

Do you have any idea how hard these accounts are to obtain these days? It's not really a small thing; but that's not why we're recommending people don't donate. It's because he has shown the tendency to be childish and go with the slightest whims and there's a decent chance this is just a scheme.

Yeah, and you have to ponder on whether or not you'll get consistent results AFTER donating. I'm not saying anybody's trying to steal money or anything, just mentioning a safety precaution that the whole donating/paypal thing isn't a business deal. What if you donate money and get nothing in return?

Wouldn't be the best quality, but maybe someone with a good connection can screen cap from the live streams? I sometimes record directly off of ogn.ferron.pe, for example, but my connection (and availability) isn't reliable enough to record vods.
