Hey TL,
So tonight I was watching "State of the Game" and thought ... "Wow that's a sweet overlay, I should do that for my daily Terran Stream". So I put together this overlay for my stream when I am out of game in the lobby. I am looking for community feedback (ie. What looks good about it, what I should change, etc.).
If your looking for some help creating your own Overlay or you would like me to create one for you please shoot me a message, I'd be more then willing to help you out. Please remember I am not a Photoshop Expert nor am I an Artist.

What program is used to display an overlay? The overlay itself is made in any drawing program (ie. Photoshop) but I'd like to know how to get the display working.

Feedback for your overlay: looks nice. Some kind of frame around the webcam could help. I've used photoshop extensively so feel free to ask about any options.

That's a pretty bad overlay. You're using less than half the screen space. The social network area is larger than the SC2 screen. I'd rather just use a PIP setup over that.

this is for out of game use. In which case the sc2 screen isnt important at all.

Thanks for clearing that up. You are correct, this is for when I am out of an actually game and sitting in a lobby chatting with viewers or waiting for a game to pop.

Oh that looked really nice, How do make overlays? and another Q, How do you auto shift when going in to a game? i mean from the pic above and into fullscreen sc2 automaticly thx for any replies!

I made the overlay in Photoshop, it's pretty much just a bunch of layers of different images. The areas where my Webcam and where my InGame view is, is just left blank. Then in Xsplit I add those screen regions and place them in the blank spots.
I am using Xsplit and I have this overlay setup on one scene button. Then when I am actually in game,I have another button i press that is just Starcraft 2 full screen with my webcam in the bottom right corner so viewers can still see me while playing. I have dual screen monitors so I am not setup like Catz with the automatic transition, I just do it manual by pressing one button.

Although not a streamer myself, I would imagine it would be really helpful for streamers if you ever developed a generic setup that would allow people to insert their own background and social networking stuff or even a guide for people to do it themselves. I'm unaware of how much work it would be to design something like that, though.
Great work on your stuff so far, it's pretty cool that you would make these for members of the community :D.

Xsplit has so much potential, it would be really cool if they added features like this into their software. I completely agree with you. I do not pay for the software at the moment as it is still in beta, but I plan to in the future. I just hope they keep building on the functionality.
TeamLiquid has done a ton for the Starcraft 2 community, it's the least I can do with my limited talent.
