I didn't get to spend as much time with the nerds as I wanted because this is the busiest season for me in terms of real life work - but amidst all the hustle and bustle, I was able to head down to IEF for 2 days.
But first:
+ Show Spoiler +
A very sleepy Canadian and German in my livingroom...
Jamie and I arrived at around 9pm when the SHINee concert was still going on.
Nerds at the hostel in Suwon. Honestly, when there are international events like this, organizations need to find better venues. Suwon was a terrible representation of Korea.
The place had a gajillion mosquitos too - apparently, hungry for white people blood.
The next morning, we all took a bus to the sports complex, where the tournaments were held. Here are the nerds, still happy and hopeful to win and/or make it out of their groups.
Playing area:
Some more nerds hanging out because their groups were not playing yet.
Which of the three will do the best at IEF?
Here's White-Ra after his win against Boxer on a stage match. Needless to say, we were all there cheering for him as loud as we could. ^^
While the other groups were going, some staff at IEF decided to take all the losers to dinner at the Ramada Hotel. Which was a LOT nicer than any Ramada I've ever been to in the States. Steak and salad, was fancy but having to sit through like, an hour of fuckin' speeches kinda killed the mood. Oh yeah and the music. Ugh.
Here are 2 of my favorite nerds
After dinner, we went back to the Tournament place to watch group finals and such and just hung out. (Sorry no pictures of that) Around 9 or 10 we finished up and headed back to the hostel to regroup and head out again. Suwon has NO nightlife. AT ALL. We walked around in the rain, on Halloween, to finally find like, ONE place that can sit us all.
We sat in 5 separate tables and basically ate all the fried chicken and cheese sticks that place had to offer. The workers were amazed to see so many non-Koreans, they even asked to take a picture with some.
With the workers. Korean girl, typical
Team USA!! (I'm always reminded of Mighty Ducks whenever I hear that phrase...)

DAY 2!!
I didn't make it out to the tournament area until like, 4pm LOL. Apparently, in the morning, they had some fun events - like a random tournament for 1 million won. But the bus for that left at 8:30am.. and I really didn't want to get up that early to watch them play.
Jamie and I headed back to Kangnam before everyone else because we were tired and wanted to get ready to head out for the night. Met up with azndsh and his friends from Princeton and went out to pregame before the rest of the nerds came out. Sea came out with MvPzerG and a friend of InfernaL's too.
Yeah... you can tell I've been drinking...
The party moved over to Rainbow once we got news that everyone was in Seoul. I think we took over half the place. I can't even name who was there - and by this time I was drunk enough that I didn't take too many pictures.
Outside -
As Rainbow was closing at 3, we made way to another location until 4:30am... and then the party split ways for the night. (morning?)
I didn't make it to work on Monday. -_____-
Had a great great great weekend with you guys, know that you always have a place to stay if you're ever back in Korea ^^
