I play sc2 since the release of the beta and I watch a shitton of professional SC2 – basically all major tournaments, many online cups and ladderstreams as well. Also, im obsessed with rankings! Therefore, i post a foreigner rankings for about a year now, and i plan to keep posting rankings on a monthly basis in the future. When i talk about „Foreigners“, i exclude non-korean asian players (chinese, taiwanese), simply because I dont see enough of those scenes to rank them, and they dont participate in your regular major tournaments too often. So you may call it a „Western Foreigner Ranking“ if you so desire. newHow do i make my ranking? Which criteria do i have?My personal ranking watches mostly on results, but also on how they where achieved. Also, ladder-performances as well as past, major results play a role in my ranking – as well as my general impression of a player (does he seem talented / cheesy / cant seem show off his full potential somehow). Activity obviously also plays a role – you cant call a player you never get to see one of the absolute best in my opinion. Added new ranking system: roughly75% = my own rank /// 25% = aligulac.com rank. both ranks will be shown in the players pictures, comulating in one rank. ![[image loading]](http://abload.de/img/explanationruft0.png) 30* means 30+ or rank 30-40.Also, only the Top30 players will be shown, not the 20-25 players following. There will possibly be a small list of the 5 players coming the closest to Top30. So when criticizing the ranking, please talk specifically about my personal rank given, not the comulated rank, since the aligulac rank isnt influenced by me  too make things easier: (my own rank [3x] / aligulac rank [1x])

simply put: if i had to take one foreigner to play in code S and do well, i would take stephano over anyone. simply because hes the best. thats my opinion, he didnt do anything bad enough to change that opinion.

Real happy to see Dayshi there, and I think he's placed well. But he will keep climbing!

I'm looking at your personal ratings like you asked and I'm curious what makes you rank Naniwa > Lucifron and Snute only at 12 when he recently beat HyuN in a bo9 as well as leads him 9-7 overall in the last month (12-7 if you go a few days before that), beat Mana in their only meeting (who you ranked 4), won ESET UK Masters, and is rated highly by the computers. Mainly I'm wondering what made you put Snute behind Ret, Thorzain, and Sase specifically, and I think you could argue him to potentially go higher although it would be close.

The only result I'd consider impressive is beating Creator 3-2, which is a good result, but Creator still hasn't looked nearly in good in HoTS as he did in WoL. He beat a bunch of Swedish players, but none of them have really accomplished much recently, and the only one you/aligulac has rated decently is Sase. Then he has 0-3 loss to CJ hero and losses to Jim and JonSnow in team leagues. Just doesnt stand out as a top 10 foreigner type month to me. I guess you're just saying he won enough games and didnt really lose enough to justify dropping him?
As for Sase, I think it's pretty hard to draw any conclusions for him because he's basically only played against TW players for the last month, beating up guys that SEn has an over 90% win rate against if I remember the numbers from last season. I understand Snute stumbled a little when first switching to HoTS, but he's playing very well right now.
I like these blogs, though. They are interesting and I like to see other perspectives.

I like how according to the current polls Huk is both the most underrated and the most overrated player in 21-30. Maybe that means he's actually right where he's supposed to be?

stephano has been close to drop to rank 2 3 times now, this month included. its just hard to call any foreigner better than him without a great major tournament result

I dont know why you hate vortix so much, it has to be some personal issue though.
He isnt #2 on aligulac for no reason, its not like he didnt have results in hots, although almost all of them are online (to be fair, there havent been many offline events yet)

I don´t really see, why major is on 24 in your list. Putting him above Socke, Strelok, Welmu, Bunny, moonglade or SortOf just seems wrong, his last results were a loss against terminator (which I can not really blame him for) and some SEA online cup, where he lost to Mafia. I know he is practising with T8 but if ranks are based on teams, Fenix also could be in there.
Otherwise it is good, maybe ThorZaiN and Goswser should be a bit lower, Welmu a bit higher and Strelok/SortOf/Heromarine somewhere in there, but you can´t fit everyone in and as this was written pre-DH, rating those a bit lower can be forgiven.
