Last season I really didn't do much as far as tracking progress and concentrating on improving as much as I just played to game. Don't get me wrong, that's a great way to play, and I'm still going to just play, but I think I can improve much faster taking the steps outside of the game.
1. Sc2gears
When I saw the post on the boards for SC2 gears, it was a really cool idea. I wasn't sure if the user would keep up with it, but I'm glad he has. I think it has some really great features aside from the customizable replay save feature. I haven't gotten a chance to really look at any of the analysis features, but I'm hoping to familiarize myself with them as the season progresses, hopefully to get some added improvement.

2. SC2 Record
I saw this thread the other day about a spreadsheet file that you can plug game information into and it can produce some nice results and charts, so I gave it a shot. Everything is laid out pretty nice and the spreadsheet is easy enough to enter data into. Some people were complaining it's a lot of information you have to enter yourself, but I had no issues doing it during the first minute or so of a game when there really isn't much to do anyway. I'm also not sure how much information will overlap with Sc2gears once I start utilizing more of it, so we'll see.

3. sc2ranks.com
Why am I listing this? I don't think this is something that everyone would do in order to achieve success. With improvement, one would hope that their ranking would rise as well. I am by no means suggesting that ranking is indication of skill or improvement; however, given that I am only looking at my own rank with knowledge that I am not trying to just get points, I think it could be useful in tangible proof of progress, which is always nice My plan is to record my NA and World ranking and see what happens.

4. Misc.
I'd like to list all the other random things I plan on doing in conjunction with playing as potential tools to success....so: music, food/drink, day9, stog, every streamer I watch, and all the awesome knowledge floating around on TL.
