If you have more than 2 gigs of ram, you want a 64 bit version. otherwise, you're never going to notice.

As for windows 7, you'll be able to get it in either version if you purchased it. Though the download off microsoft store is a bit foggy to me on that part.

Even a "clean install" keeps/transfers everything from your Program Files dir. and some other directories. You can find everything in C:\windows.old after the install.

I installed from the HP Stock Installation (my laptop is HP) to Windows 7 RC, so I'm pretty sure there is nothing important in there. yes as long as you saved your documents/pictures/videos that you had previously on your C:\ partition that you might like

However, I might wanna try 64bit, i dont have the discs for my laptop as they said its directly in the harddrive or something, no disks needed. Anyone knows how does that work? I do think you need the 64bit discs for this kind of stuff. You're changing the whole system architecture, and I don't think the 64bit version comes in bundle with the 32-bit one. Maybe I'm wrong...

And it'll come with all the junk that came from factory, bleh >< I miss the simple days of the past when they can just give us a widows disk, we'd purge the machine, and all was well.

![]() I just made a back-up in case my Windows 7 somehow decides to totally screw up on me, but it doesn't appear to be the case.

And yeah, if you have 4gb+ then 64bit is way to go. Plus in some applications you dont use whole potential of your CPU on 32bits.
