Sup tl. I would like to preface this blog by saying: Some people are considered attractive, some aren't. It's life. I'm not here to brag, I'm here for advice.
This summer I haven't been able to find a job, and I've applied + followed up 20+ places. I have no previous real job experience, only volunteer shit. So today, long story short, I had to walk around in this ridiculous "king" costume for a place I volunteer at. I realized that I have no problems pulling off outfits, even ridiculous ones, in front of large groups of people.
5 different people came up to me today and asked if I was a model. I got randomly offered a modeling job on the street, but it was for tighty whities and I thought it was sketch as hell. Turns out it wasn't but it still creeped me the fuck out. Anyway I decided that I should at least look into modeling. Free clothes and a little bit of money sounds sweet to me. Do they get to keep clothes?
I can't believe I'm asking this on a starcraft forum, but..do any of you have any previous modeling experience or know someone who does who can let me in the loop? My google-fu brought up this but after looking around a bit I realized I really have no fucking clue how this works or even where to start networking.
My game plan: A) Get some pics I can make an online modeling profile with B) monitor craigslist C) I can talk with a girl whose been on the cover of teen vogue real easy. I'd feel really fucking weird doing it, but I kind of think its an opportunity I shouldn't waste.
A) I've got a friend whose sister just started a photography business, I might be able to get a semi-professional photo shoot for free or some kind of exchange that doesn't involve money. I am NOT going to pay for this however it happens. B) I have this morbid fascination with w4m in the casual encounters section. This won't be a problem. C) FB message or rl? I'm thinking message first then lunch or coffee.
That's my situation. I appreciate any help or advice you guys can give me.

From the sound of it you can just put that King suit on again and walk around town. Sooner or later you'll get an appealing offer.

I don't understand the connection between your first set of ABCs and your second set
Good luck getting advice form TL. From what I was told, you don't typically get to keep the clothes you model. You can ask, and they'd most likely let you keep them, but that's strongly discouraged.

A quick question, what're your other credentials? Mainly school-wise, and the volunteer stuff you've done? Also pics
I'm headed to sleep now, but I'll check back on this thread in the morning and try and contribute something <_<

Pics? Empyrean, I'm not gay. But I'm flattered.
jk
I'm an eagle scout, I'm in college, and right now I'm volunteering at a school that kids go to right before juvy. I've volunteered at other random places.
and for pics, my real problem is that I have no recent pictures of myself. Other people do, but I don't and they haven't been posted on fb. I'd feel like a tool showing you mirror pics. If I get that shoot with my friend's sister I'll post some

Hey, still awake.
Rofl, just for curiosity's sake haha :D
What college do you go to, what year are you, and what are you majoring in?
As for employment, I'm not exactly sure how useful it is, but I'm pretty sure being an Eagle Scout will score you some points in interviews, etc., if you play up the dedication and commitment required to be one. The volunteering experience will also give you good interviewing points in the future, and you may want to put it on your resume for now as well. Those are actually some pretty good experiences, I'd say, and would probably help you on your job hunt.

I don't think it's ever a negative.
