I've already had the decompression in the summer of 2000. The surgery was a success for a long time. It improved my initial symptoms which were basically all physical-related.
My doctor moved to a new state so we went to a new place recently for a yearly check-up. Currently to this date my status is "borderline" for another surgery. They said if the pain and discomfort is affecting my life I should get it. Well, since my last one sucked some major balls and I've just had extremely bad experiences with surgeries in the past it was clear my answer was "fuck that". No ones putting a knife into my head.
However, my symptoms are progressing very rapidly out of no where to the point that I can't function at all. My main problem which I'd tell every doctor at every doctor visit was my vision was going. They give me the eye tests and say my vision is almost perfect. I do wear glasses but as far as visually being able to make things out, do the eye tests, etc. - I pass them so e-_-Z. But my vision is very distorted to the point where everything I see has a very fuzzy flashing overlay to it. If you give me a palette of colors it is easy for me to tell you which one is which but in reality the colors look like they have a heavy flashy/fuzzy television cable like layer on them. It is getting to the point where it feels like I can't interact with my surroundings because everything looks and feels so false.
But the ONLY suggestion I've got so far is the doctor said that it might be increased intracranial pressure and another surgery would help it. But since they've shown almost no concern over it I am just assuming they don't know what the fuck they are talking about.
So... I know bad vision isn't something to get a surgery over but it is to the point where on bad days I can't read black text on white backgrounds. Reading books are such a struggle for me. And in the dark my vision flashes as if a strobe light is on a mile away. Which actually COVERS the objects in the dark instead of has an overlay to them. So even with a little darkness I'm partially blind.
WWJD guys?
