Now, I am not sure if this will be a good decision, but I guess it's worth a try. For an unknown period of time, I will be consistently using P as my race.
Reasons and things to consider: 1. I have been sucking cock with T 2. My APM doesn't live up to decent T standards (not that APM matters enough for a race change but it's definitely an addition). Plus, I might be better off using 180-200 APM for P instead of T, where it requires about 250+ APM for decent play. 3. I'm tired of spamming P and I instead of O when I'm trying to siege, and then noticing my tank hotkey group is now dead and gone. 4. Fuck reavers 5. Fuck dark templars. If I can't beat these two, why not join them :D
Arbiters are pretty gay too...
Anyway, I am hoping I might have a better win rate and career as P. I have never liked P or Z more than T, and I always found T fun as hell so I may regret ditching T, but this can possibly be for my own good.
NOW, I want some responses to see if I should or should not switch for real. I have heard several people say that switching to P from another race was their biggest mistake in the history of their SC career, which scares me. I have also heard that P is boring as hell. I have found P to be not dynamic enough compared to Z or T, but I think that's just perspective. But all in all, I think it'll be more fun winning with a boring race than losing all the time with a fun race. If that makes any sense... Winning is always more fun imo.
If you do not recommend the switch, please be sure to point out exactly why, and if you do recommend it, it'd be nice to receive some opening tips (I know about the recommended threads guide, I just want some personal suggestions). Thanks a lot guys.
And no, I am not really considering switching to Zerg.
Poll: Switch to Protoss? (Vote): Try and switch back if you don't like it (Vote): Don't even try it's a waste of time (Vote): Yes, Protoss is definitely the way to go (Vote): No, Protoss is for fags (Vote): 8===D

I find a lot of truth in this. A lot. T_T;

Switch to Protoss. I've only played against 2 Protoss players in the past like 12 games on iCCup. Where did all the Terrans suddenly come from?

I totally agree with your number 3, I'm like why arent these guys sieging?? and then gg.
And Protoss is not a boring race, especially pvz and pvp, where the storms are all over the map. And if you go into late game, getting into the most advanced upgrades with maelstrom and such is great.

Maybe they're the offspring of Fantasy

Why not, it can't hurt to try. I guess "Try and switch back if you don't like it."
At least it'll be a refreshing playstyle if you're getting aggravated by the mechanic/static nature of Terran.

I will take these into great consideration. But is there a reason why you guys have non-protoss icons as you say this? O_o

switch to zerg to have an advantage over protoss, who are all scum.

All up to you. Some people have different styles suited for different races, just experiment around. I find Terran is to defensive and immobile for my taste, and that Zerg just feels weird to me. I find Toss is the race most suited for my style of play. And toss is not boring. Its so fun seeing units melt in storms, commando speedzeals running in and sniping hatcheries, making big blocks of ice and giant blue tornadoes of doom is just fun ^^
Just play around, you'll find a balance eventually.

I switch back and forth, especially if the opponent is terran. I either go toss or just leave, lol I hate TvT, which also could be a consideration.

Yeah. Beating Protoss really isn't that hard once you learn how to. It just depends if you want a challenge or not. If you cannot adapt your play and learn to defeat Protoss, in a matchup that is genuinely balanced, then to be honest, you probably lack the ability to get good at any one race. Or rather, you lack the commitment and mentality to.
That being said, Protoss is easier at those lower ranks, that is forsure. You could surpass your T rank after not too much practice as P, I'm certain. But you will reach a point where you will get decisively raped at some rank where T's don't blow ass, then you'll probably stay at that rank for a long time.
It depends what you want out of SC. If you want to challenge yourself and push yourself to master a game and to get as good as possible, it doesn't matter what race you play. Play whatever one you want. If you want to get that new shiny rank to brag to friends, go ahead and go P.
You mean switching completely right? Because if you're having troubles with TvP, doing PvT for a few weeks will give your TvP a lot of insight, and if you treat that as a constructive learning process to study the matchup, then it should benefit you a lot, nomatter what race you end up playing.
Long story short. Learning the timings for DT and reaver and how to scout them, really is not hard, and if you know it's coming, you have a HUGE advantage. I love it when they try it now since it's really not too hard to figure out. =p
I agree with Raptor. I have thought about switching because a part of me wanted to be a top foreigner and I felt like I could probably get it done easier as P. Then I told myself to fuck off, split those SCV's and actually worked my ass off to learn the matchup. =p Way more rewarding.

I've found that playing ~10 to 15 reverse matchups is extremely beneficial. (i.e. I play Zerg, so play 10 to 15 PvZ or TvZ, in succession.) But you gotta go back to T afterward.

TvT would've definitely been one of my reasons for switching although nowadays it doesn't bug me enough as Protoss... maybe it's just BlueStorm.
I also find limited options for cheese as Terran. Cheesing looks somewhat fun :D

fuck protoss, learn to rape them I find a lot of truth in this. A lot. T_T; +1. There is nothing more satisfying to me than seeing waves of those blue flames from dead zealots and puddles of blue goo while my army is still perfectly intact.

Oh my, a detailed response from Nintu. I am honored (I learned a shit load from that 6 fact 110 push FPVOD, thanks). Yeah I think your points are very good and I just might change temporarily to get the perspective (even Flash said in an interview that he switches during free time to get a perspective of the opponent).
And it's not about not knowing that the reavers are coming, faggots with good reaver control just dominate me. I set up 3 turrets and a tank or two sieged and they still manage to find some loopholes. I wish I had a good reaver defense guide similar to the several vs Mutalisk guides out there...
