I was there photographing it. The issue was more with the venue than anything else - plus the freezing weather didn't help turn out either. It was in a University building and was completely packed out (with long lines to get inside.) I personally thought the venue was a bit lame - it was too small (like the Incruit OSL venue was.) and as it was more of a lecture theatre style place the lighting sucked aside from the stage.
The best venues I've been to so far were the EVER OSL finals in Seoul - that venue (I forget the name now.) was amazing - HUGE, perfect for such a massive stage and well lit. Also as a photographer it was well laid out because we could get very close to the action.
Also Kwang-ah Li beach for the PL finals between Khan and OGN Sparkeyz - it was roasting hot (thank god for the cooler in the press tent.) but working on the beach was a brilliant experience nonetheless. I worked for almost 18 hours straight that day (with a dinner with all the Kespa people, Coach Kim of Khan and lots of other journalists etc.) and came away with bruises and a cut arm, but it was so fun to work somewhere so different to the usual studios. Seeing OGN and Khan rolling up beach side in boats is something I'll never forget - along with being in the centre of the press line watching Khan win with a wall of thousands of fans behind me.
Fingers crossed for decent venues this season!
