So I have been making progress on guitar for about 3-4 months after dropping it (big mistake) for like 6-7 months. Now, I have recovered most of what I know, and made some scales my bitches again. I was feeling great. I felt like I had it back again, and so I tried to play some basic riffs.
I got Cowboys from Hell, Paranoid (lol), and Balls to the Wall (lol) all down except for the solos, which I planned to learn later. I was encouraged. I was happy. Energy flowed through my veins as I seemly effortlessly mastered riff after riff. It seemed like all that grueling power chord, scale, music theory bullshit came through after all. So, I decided to put myself to the ultimate test: Slayer.
Sadly, I didn't choose an easy Slayer song, I chose Raining Blood... not South of Heaven, not one of those slow slayer songs. Why did I choose Raining Blood? Because I was feeling awesome. Awesome beyond my dreams. I felt ready. I was fucking hyped. I hadn't really felt as happy since JulyZerg raped Best to get a Golden Mouse. (also because GH3 on practice mode can serve as a backing track >_> ).
Well, I got owned. Though I haven't felt a penis going through my anus, I bet that is what it would feel like. After an hour or two of trying to play it up to speed and failing miserably, I gave up. Destroyed by Slayer, I went to play some SC and 4 pooled some pubs on east (Ironically listening to Slayer while playing). I had some fun, and decided I would have another go at Slayer. Again, failure destroyed what self-esteem I had, and now I feel horrible again.
Everything was building up towards this moment. I imagine it would be what Flash felt when he lost both games this week after some stellar performances. I don't think I will want to play guitar tomorrow.
In short: Fuck you Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman for writing such an appealing song. You have destroyed me.
2 hours only? Lol i must've been practicing for total of 20 hours for Etude op7 before I could play it smoothly. Put in more time. Play slower for 4 hours Play faster for 4 hours Play faster than faster for 4 hours only 2 hours? that's a joke

The riffs aren't hard at all + I had been spending time on other stuff for like 4-5 hours. T_T
Then when I came back I spent another hour or something to total around 3.

Haha sure. My point is music is a process, not a task. You don't go around saying "I'll spend 2 hours and get this done". That never works out. You say "I'll practice and enjoy today on this song for 1 hour, and do the same tomorrow, and the next day". That works. P.S. try youtube? great lessons.

its like build orders in SC.
haha not quite right? It's pretty hilarious if it is exactly like ur analogy. Oh yeah instead of playing BO full speed, ima play half speed... for instance, 8 pylon 10 gate 12 gate is turned into... 16 pylon 20 gate 24 gate
I'd shit myself laughing if I see someone try that to learn lol
wtf. It's just like anything else. You have to slow it down until you can play it perfectly, then gradually speed it up. That's not gonna happen in 2 hours for every song.

yeah, why is it so hard to understand?
a new gamer (like a new guitar player) realy sucks at mechanics. its hard to produce SCV, place buildings, time upgrades and follow what the enemy is doing. slower game speed will make him remember his timings better.
