Ugh.
TL stuff: + Show Spoiler + My 5000th post has been haunting me for a while. Granted, I've been away from the computer for some time, but I definitely had something in the works for this one. (No, this isn't it. Hence, "Ugh".)
You can scroll through some previous blogposts to see what I'm about, but in short- I like to sing.
I had a little stint a while back called "Write me a poem!" in which I'd improvise words and music to a poem that you wrote for me, anything goes. I'd like to revitalize that. I've unsuccessfully tried to revive it in the blogs, but alas, they get bumped too fast for those who don't know how to sort blogs by most recent post.
Depending on the type of input I get, this may or may not work.
Here's a quick rundown of what I need YOU to do:
-Write me a poem that is at least one paragraph. -Anything past 3 stanzas and I'd really like a chorus. Past songs have been choppy and weird because of a lack of chorus. -No excessive swearing. Just no. -PM me a copy of the song so I make sure I get it.
I'll provide links and stuff to previous posts, but I'm far too lazy and lethargic right now. I've had positive feedback for previous songs, and even a few requests, so I guess now that I'm on reading week, this is the time.
Personal stuff: + Show Spoiler + Things haven't been too great. Lost my girlfriend (mutually) and school has been handing my ass to me. I'm in my second year of Engineering Physics (thanks a LOT, Flaccid) and it's pretty rough. The workload is intense and the physics is somewhat confusing, but I'm making it through. I'm nowhere close to failing, but I want to keep my marks up, as my goal is to get a PhD a little later down the road. I've sadly found less and less time for music as the months pass on- something I really hope doesn't stay this way. I'm going to take a couple music classes over the summer, as well as a Mandarin class to re-learn my mother tongue. I lost Mandarin a very long time ago, and I wish to regain it. I've been hearing great reviews for Rosetta Stone, but I'm going to do a little more research before I commit to anything. I've picked up the guitar again. I like in an apartment suite, and the drumkit isn't the best instrument to practice. So now I'm back to piano, voice, and guitar. My band broke up and is in a really weird situation, the short story being lead-singer-broke-up-with-backup-but-not-really-etc-etc. I just woke up, so none of these thought are in any order.
Thanks for reading. When the hell are we going to get a preview post for blogs?

Man that's pretty cool that you want a PhD in physics.

Hard to hear, man. Good luck with your singing. I personally have been... slacking when it comes to my Chinese. I wish I could learn it better, and I know I'll be sorry for not learning it now.

You know what, we share a few things in common. I'm also planning on earning a PhD in physics, have found less and less time for playing piano (which I adore), and completely suck at korean.
Best of wishes to you

Why is that so cool?

Obviously because Gordon Freeman has a PhD in physics.
But seriously it's cool (for me) because physics is fascinating and I love hearing that people want to dedicate their lives to something that's actually interesting.

micronesia would love to hear that. And I agree, physics is awesome.

One of my friends has Rosetta Stone Mandarin. It doesn't seem that effective, from what I've heard her speak, but then again, she wasn't a native speaker to begin with. I think honestly that taking classes at your school would be more effective.

My dad has a PhD in bio physics...it's not helping him at all at this point, though. He was forced to "retire" like four years back from the university he was doing research at.
It won't help you get anything more than a community college or high school teaching job if you don't have good shit to research.
Wait...no...your degree is in engineering physics...which is different from bio. ok, nvm. lol.

i'm gonna doublemajor in math and physics and probably phd in physics, gluck man!
