I decided to try Kwarks-esque post my accomplishemnts Iccup post since its all the rage, and I'm feeling pretty down because of it now. What resulted was the most assrape I have ever experienced in iccup. I knew my TvT was bad, no really just bad and now I'm playing in Korean time where Korean D's are Foreigner C's, and I was shown brilliantly just how little I knew about my own race. http://repdepot.net/replay.php?id=7697
So after a little grumbling about how of course I'd lose that MU I'm so bad at it, but I got my TvP and TvZ down solid, I won't lose at that. Lo and Behold a toss game is given to me and foot in mouth I get to do my 5fact push, which for all you uneducated folk if done correctly stomps all over a triple base toss. I was shown the door promptly after deciding that maybe slow push as the answer, a slow push started in fail and ended in fail. http://repdepot.net/replay.php?id=7698 After this I'm like you know what, I don't care its Python I'm bad on open maps on python I don't know a thing about macroing and I always miss supplies that was stupid game. Just to shut me up I'm graced with a TvZ on my 'favorite' (emphasis on favorite) map Destination. The game starts, and I've been watching those mech vods and I'm fighting with myself should I go mech and risk it(first time trying it in a real game) or do my 9mn push I've been TRYING to make work for the last agonizing 3 weeks. I hold up against the desires to use mech and go bio. Things seem to be going well, he goes 3hatch muta my build, once again, if done right is supposed to be a soft counter to it. I was shown that you dont need to micro mutalisks if the terran is bad enough. Having enough of that shame I decided I'd push out, I'm doing good on ups have 3 tanks and a vessel I can do some damage maybe take down a 3rd and get pushed back. yeah, no not happening, silly me remembers that the reason why siege is researched when youre moving out is its ready when you arrive at the enemies base, hindsight being 20/20 as I cross the bridges of death and finally with my almost last scan see his army I press O and realize O shit I don't have siege yet, panic and watch as my already horrible bio control turns into a jumbled mass of blood, rape and explosions. Then he gets guardians(Since he got 4th gas after rolling over my horrible push) . Yay me! http://repdepot.net/replay.php?id=7699
Now why did I post this, if you got this far you might as well understand my reasons ONE) I felt bad, and then I saw Kwark and I felt bad AND jealous TWO) I want help, I don't care if its buried in shittalk describing to me just how bad I made the Terran race look, I'd just like to improve THREE) If my days gone bad, maybe this'll brighten someone elses. Anyways I have work tomorrow good night.
Last thoughts edit: maybe D+ is too high to shoot for, a solid 1500 might be nice.

No. Bad koreans are still bad by any measure of the stick, a D is a D no matter where you're from. Unless you're facing good people nooby bashing
Oh shit you want something constructive. Man the only thing I've ever seen that players need to get better at lower lower levels is something nony said in a vod a really long time ago and that's to get 'faster' doesnt really have to be more apm for sure, but just doing this as quickly as they need to be done. That noobies dont spend their money as fast as they can after the 5 first five minutes of the game. So that's a fancy way of looking at macro and mechanics, which without looking at that replay or specifics is probably your problem. Just get a solid build order and work on your other stuff, just know why you lost and if you think you're mechanics and macro are as good as they could be in a given situation then you can pull out farther to strategy, and timings, and counter builds.

I almost got to D+ (like 120 pts off b4 I went on a serious losing streak). Go for it, with just a bit more determination you can do it =)

The D Zergs and Tosses ive won games from wouldnt know that kind of macro/micro and overall control of the map and game. If it slapped them in the face with a dead babies pancreas and then spelled it out in red bloody letters, BAD PLAYER, as the mother of the now pancreasless baby watched in horror.

The koreans that beat you at D level are better than D level. This has nothing to do with them being korean.

In my last D rank game against a Korean, I got my ass seriously handed to me by his 337apm

practicing a build order for a good 30 minutes before you start for the day helps me a ton. It's boring as hell, but I've gotten my opening TvP on maps with ramps so tight, I don't even think about it much anymore. Instead of goons pushing into me and delaying my expo, I lift off and land without even looking, knowing that the shit about to come down my ramp will eat everything he has. I've gotten the fantasy mech build down that aside from the split, the first 5 minutes or so look so close to how he did it I have full confidence in my ability to either be successful with it, or make the best moves I can with what the build provides.

Heh, all these threads made me wanna go back on iCCup. Got a D+ 2200 rating account, which I might be able to push to C-. GL with D+, Korean hours are tough

Hehe, good luck. I switched races to T recently. I achieved D+ pretty handily with a decent record (about 10-5, not great but pretty good for a bad player). Then I stopped bio meching and went standard TvP and lost about 10 games in a row and dropped back to D, so I have the same immediate goal as you do now!

hey man wanna be practice partners

yeah im on during "early" korean hours, when the Koreans start coming in, and raping the Foreigners until they get the message and leave. They really arent better than foreigners. The difference is, that a Korean will pick a build order and do it the exact same way ten times in a row, no matter what you are doing, or how bad it is failing. So in some cases they are really good, because you might not respond to what they've been practicing, but in some cases they're terrible, since you know how to beat it and the Korean knows nothing else. It's definitely not D>C. It's more like, and im being generous to Koreans, d>d+

I enjoy playing koreans, raped me sure, but their not sitters like foreigners who jus wait until 10th minute to move out. koreans are more aggressive and fun 2 play against. losing makes you stronger. play for fun games, not for rank, and you'l rank up faster ! LOL (true tho)

I wish I played more consistently- last season I could slide through D level really easily with around a 75% win rate and had the goal of C-. I might have made it too if I had put more effort and games in. Now the iccup community has gotten more competitive than ever before and I'm only making about 50% at D. It's really depressing. On the upside I don't think D+ will be that much more difficult considering the ammount of noobbashers there are at D.

hey dude, i wouldn't mind helping you out. im a low c- terran, and i can point out all the things i did that helped me surpass D rank.
