If you send in 50 zealots towards a line of tanks, a lot of them will make it to the tanks and allow for splash damage. Zerg units are a lot weaker and so your 200/200 army simply disappears before getting close. During your attack you only have 1 to 4 control groups of units because you need the rest on hatcheries. Therefore, you need to mouse select most of your units and tell them to attack. You need to perfectly time moving in all of your units because they die so quickly. As in PvT, a flank is useful but you need to be even faster at selecting and telling your units to attack because they a) move faster b) die faster and c) you have a lot more to select and move. Basically have to box select a shit ton of units all over the place and attack them to the right location. You also need to dark swarm, and your units still die almost instantly under it because of splash. You need to make sure your defilers all have energy and get the swarm off before the long range tanks kill them. You need to find and cast dark swarm with your defilers on multiple fronts. You need to keep macroing like mad during the attack because you lose so many units and you can't just cue up an extra one ahead of time. The big difference is that with protoss you can generally have your entire main army hotkeyed and only need to worry about casting spells and microing zealots a bit. By having the majority of your force hotkeyed, it's easier to time an attack or flank. At the moment of the attack, a zerg needs to have REALLY high APM or else everything falls apart. Anyway, that's a nice clip. | ||
