At 5:30 our hotel phone rang for a wake up call at which my bunk mate decided to bust out the lyrics to Wake Up Call by Maroon 5. :/ what a weird guy. We gathered all our junk and went downstairs and enjoyed a simple breakfast of eggs, pancakes, bacon, and orange juice.
morning over jacksonville
Most of us were still freezing as we sat in the parking lot like deer caught in the headlights.
We boarded the buses to go to Terry Parker High School where we were to practice for an upcoming field show performance later that night. The catch was, whatever school won the field show competition, would be the school to perform in the pregame show at the Gator Bowl. So you could say there was quite a lot at stake.
on a random sidenote, there are quite a number of random marshes/swamps scattered around in Florida. No alligators sighted
After a pretty uneventful practice, we boarded the buses, once again, and took a trip to a local shopping center for lunch. The shopping center was pretty boring so most of the band ended up chilling at the nearby Starbucks.
After some much needed rest, we got on the buses and drove to some high school. I forgot the name of it, but MICHAEL PHELPS went there in high school...that's all I can remember. We performed our show while meeting some other bands.
video of my band's drumline rocking out. they're consistently ranked in the top 15 in the world :\.
In any case, the results of the field show wouldn't be out for a couple of days. So we got on the buses one last time and drove back to the hotel to prepare for another 5:30 am wake up call.
