hey guys!

at university i have lecture about film-making. and for this lecture i had to write a synopsis about a film we would like to make. and i decided to write about a documentation about the korean starcraft scene.

i just wanted to share my intro with the german-speaking users here.

+ Show Spoiler +

my lecturer has no clue about starcraft but he liked the intro very much. so i guess it's appropriate for non-players as well

btw i wrote it in november (wcg date)

I think it's very good. Now I feel I'd like to read more. And that's basically what an intro is all about, isn't it?

Computer games are not only the young people in Germany. The digital competitions and events will have on the world high popularity, both among players as well as spectators obtained. A very good example is the World Cyber Games, the digital Olympic Games that are currently on German soil in Cologne. Matches will be played alongside several other games Starcraft - a real-time strategy game in which three races competing for dominance in the universe fight. Although the game developer of the Californian company Blizzard Entertainment has more than 10 years old, it is still one of the most-played songs of its genre. For such longevity, there are several reasons, but the main thing is certainly a relatively small country in East Asia: South Korea.
In no other country in the world, video and computer games and related e-sports (Electronic Sports) such a high priority in the high-tech company in Korea, especially StarCraft, a 10-year-old strategy game. StarCraft in Korea has become a kind of became a popular - and not just for professionals. A whole generation plays it. Online, alone or in teams.
Games run on two separate programs for broadcast on television. Successful professionals can hardly go shopping unmolested, without to be recognized: Korean pop stars.
Among the young people she knows all there: Lim Yo Hwan, Kim Taek Yong and Lee Jae Dong. What Europeans outside sounds as the secondary display of a Far Eastern martial arts film, for many Koreans are the heroes of their youth - digital gladiators, based on virtual battlefields to fame but also struggling to deliver significant prizes: Keyboard instead kick boots and BoxeR1) instead of Ballack.

Any idea when the film will be finished? I'd be quite interested in that, and also in what your teacher says about it.

Well, very interesting to read. Please let us know when you have anything more to share. By the way, I would argue that Boxer is one of the most popular SC players ever but not exactly one of the most successful with regards to leagues won. He has only won 2 OSLs and 2 WCGs iirc.

Though I have to say, personally I'd put Boxer above anyone else.
