10 minutes ago, I was driving my friend home from a birthday dinner (btw that's what my previous blog entry was for). It was a pretty normal day until my phone rang. I looked at the screen to see who was calling and I saw a white screen:
My phone is like 2 years old now cus I lost the new phone I got last year and it always glitches and lags and freezes up on me. I take out the battery, put it back in, and start up my phone again and all's good again.
So I slid my phone up and tried to pick up the call but nothing happened, the screen stayed white and I couldn't hear anyone on the other line. We were almost home so I decided to restart my phone when I got back.
But for some reason I took my phone out again because I wanted to see if it still had the white screen, and when I slid the phone up....
WHAT THE EFF?!?!?!?!??! LOLOLOL
I ALMOST DROVE INTO A TELEPHONE POLE.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA MAN you should've seen our reactions when my friend and I saw this.
I scrolled through my call logs and EVERYTHING was mirrored:
The colors were all messed up too, everything was tinted blue. My background is usually orangey yellow but not anymore.
My friend was so amazed he took out his cell phone and we parked on a curb to take a picture of it LOL. Then I got home and took better pics with my camera. This was truly an epic moment for me, yes my life is boring.

Were the directional buttons mirrored, or just the screen?

thats nothing
before wcg we were printing out the tax forms at machine's house and one, only one, of them came out with every letter moved one spot in the alphabet (a's became b's, c's->d's etc)

Only the screen is mirrored, so left button is still for the menu and right button is for t-zones.

Cool thing about the phone malfunction but you really shouldn't be paying attention to your phone while you are driving.

Dude, my LG Chocolate did the same thing!!
Except for one notable exception: My screen was mirrored AND flipped upside down. I had to flip it upside down and look at it in a mirror to read a text message! Hella, hella gay. The screen pixels rapidly broke down and finally stopped working entirely, though.

are the buttons mirrored also? left button still works for the left side, or switched?

When the title said 'THE MOST EPIC THING HAPPENED TO MY PHONE TODAY' i was expecting something extremely epic that i would want to show to all my friends. especially since it was written in caps. But i mean comon, whats so epic about that... i'm dissapointed =/

Like the "Missing no." bug in pokemon red/blue where you speak to that guy who teaches you how to catch pokemon and then you fly to that last island and surf on the right side of it.

i experienced something similarly wacky with my kejian phone (bought from china) as well. it was mirrored, and the colors were inverted. to read my texts, i just had to put it in front of a mirror and read off the mirror.
the funny thing was, then i dropped my phone on the ground again. and when i picked it up, it became normal! i was quite happy off course. but later when i went jogging with it in my pockets, it went back to the inverted-mirrored mode. so i decided to drop it on the ground on purpose to get it "right" again, but then it just went permanently blank after that...

lol that's not a good sign. My old phone used to love going white screen on me, had to restart the fucker everytime I got a text message or a missed call -_-

is the litmus paper on the inside of the phone/battery discolored (normally i think its white with purple X's for samsung). It will either turn pink, red, or solid purple. If it is, then its water damage, good luck with that (water damage is really really really random), sometimes it'll dry out sometimes its fucked, sometimes it does weird shit forever.
If its been under a year (which I think u said not) you can do warranty claim from manufac.
If you have insurance you can get a replacement phone for 50$ (usually not brand new though, so its not a good idea). Insurance is worthless imo.
Other than that, you can go to a store and see if it's the battery, they usually run about 30$~. Make sure you test it and see if it's just the battery (which I doubt it is, because the phone powers up to white screen).
Last and final option, upgrade to a new 2 year contract, and get another samsung (they make great phones).The Shadow looks pretty cool.
