There are good earphones for around $70 that block out background noise. I can't remember where there were though.

if its ipod I dont see why you wouldnt get earbuds
the ipod is supposed to be portable, and its not when you have big headphones to drag around

oh i like to use my headphones for the computer as well
also, earbuds make the insides of my ear smell like shit also winter time~ headphones act as earmuffs lol
and i dont really need background noise stuff;;
any links are really appreciated ~~ so i could read reviews and such =D

So true. When it's cold I put my earmuffs on and it's warm. And life is good.
I won HD 280s; they're nice and relatively cheap, but I dunno if it's what they're looking for.

These cost $40 and have been getting really good reviews so far.
Disclaimer: I may be biased (I work at Razer) - but that said, speaking as a consumer, these are what I choose to use myself and I'm not under any obligation to do so.

I have here in my hand a pair of Sony MDR-V150 headphones. The sound is really, really amazing for $20 US. The construction is a little shoddy (i abuse my headphones daily, dropping them etc. so that might have something to do with it) but the sound is seriously great. The only thing that a pair of Bose headphones does better is to provide bass and sound cancellation, but I like my music with really low level bass anyway. Noise cancellation is provided, a little bit.
If you want GREAT sound at a GREAT value, get those headphones.
BTW if you ever want to listen to music, you should definitely get big earphones and not earbuds.

The Sennheiser HD555's are fucking awesome and worth every penny. They are big though, I don't use them for my iTouch, only on my desktop. But they are absolutely awesome.
EDIT: If you didn't mind the size of those BOSE, then the HD555's shouldn't be a problem. Nice and sturdy too. Seriously, they are worth it even if you have to wait a little longer and save up a bit more money to get them

i have the sennheisers HD280 pro, i think they cost ~100 or so, they are very big and bulky, not tht attractive, but they sound beautiful
anyways, if you want great sound for a good price, sennheiser is pretty much the way to go. Apparently shure makes good in-ear stuff, but those are never as nice as the full headphones imo

the impendence on the amp in your iPod is meant to power 32ohm earbbuds. so unless you want to get headphones with less resistance than that (you can't blow out and iPod, it will just drain the battery quicker) you aren't going to be able to get much sound our of it. buy some nice earbuds and be the cool kid on your block. Just don't sit on them

Cheap earbuds that sound great.
Don't get fullsize cans for a iPod unless you're gonna get a separate amp, and if you are then it's gonna get more expensive.
