I have no problem with you experimenting, but in all honesty it makes more sense to just have your oil changed by a mechanic. Even my dad feels that way and he does virtually every job he's capable of otherwise.

Why does it make more sense to get a mechanic to change your oil?
Here are some Cons I can think of :
-Gotta drive there and waste countless hours for them to do it.
-Usually costs 10-20 bucks more than if you did it yourself.
-You know exactly what is going on in your car and change the oil exactly as good as you want. If they do it who knows how good/bad of a job they will do.
-You can put whatever oil you want in, not just whatever they wanna put in (cheaply).

I actually think an oil change is the easiest thing to do on that list and people (if you know what you are doing) are perfectly capable of doing it themselves.
Installing a stereo is a little less advised.

It saves you very little money, it's very messy, and you have to access the bottom of the car. A bad combination imo.

lol, I learned to change car tires, change oil, maintain brakepads, brake lights... via Internet guides! Though I've never done the stereo and spark plug. With great power comes great responsibility, yo.
