Band Competitions and Homecoming

So yeah, we went to our band competition yesterday. It was fun, except the field was a mess, the worst I have ever marched in by FAR. It had just rained, and the stadium was sort of a pit, so midfield, there were no hashmarks (which we use to guide ourselves) and hell, there were barely and yard lines. Despite this I thought we did well. Actually, I don't really know how everyone did, but i know the trombones did good, and no one in our band fell. We got a 1 (qualified for states) and placed first in our class. Unfortunately this was out of three bands, but both are bands that consistently beat us out in competitions, although our real goal is to qualify not beat the other bands.

Onto homecoming. A good friend of mine asked the girl I've like forever to homecoming, and she said yeah. I dunno why, but it bothers me some, and I am somewhat jealous. I feel quite petty, but yeah. Now everyone in the group I was gonna go with has a date (They were the two dateless ones), and I could get one, but probably not with a girl who I like that much. Or I could just not go. Decision's decision's

EDIT: I arranged for them to get together so how dumb am i? -_-;

Also I get to masturbate again on Tuesday how fun

Yeah, just because. Well an argument more like. I was like I could do it and they said no you can't

i'm in marching band too.
if u guys can march decently with no hash or yard lines, then ur band is prolly pretty good

my band gets ruined by idiots and freshmen every single year.
on top of that, the idiots and freshmen sound like complete shit every single year. Whats worse that its always the brass section...which sucks balls cause they're supposed to be the loudest too.(besides drumline of course).

We're damn small, only about DIv 2a

i'm pretty pissed at the freshmen this year. most of them don't know how to march at all, and a lot of them have an attitude.

we did get second at the last field tournament though.we're 4A

Yeah I know what type of fields you are talking about...sometimes they steal people's shoes as well.

I think every band gets the idiot and freshman thing, I know mine did even though we were pretty competitive(like top 10 in CA).
