I dont think they're going to not take a blood sample because your scared of needles.
Your only hope could be that you sober up enough before they get time to take the blood to be under the limit.

no, there are alternative (not as accurate) tests that aren't blood tests. Besides, the entire point of this exercise is that you're not drunk while doing this. plus you can boast about how high your "tolerance" is to your friends.

no breathalyzer is different b/c that's just stupid. There are no alternatives to a field breathalyzer test really, but there are alternatives to a blood test (although less accuracy) and you can demand one of those.

Also it takes some time to take you to the station, and some cops might even say forget it, not worth the hassle. If you can show the breathalyzer is unreliable, (readings above fatal) then you def have a better shot of not getting in trouble if you actually are in trouble.
