Best topic on SC2 ever. Seriously, the 'mutant larva', the new gas mechanics, the force-field ability, etc etc.. I really feel like Blizzard is going to be able pulling off leaving MBS in while still providing macro mechanisms to allow the ultra-high skill ceiling we currently have. I just found myself going into a 10 minute joy-rant about it to one of my coworkers so.. Yea.  Excitement renewed.  | ||

Now I'm really excited for the game to come out, and I'm glad that the MBS thing is the way it is, rather than something like where if you hit 1 key, it makes a Tank in all factories. | ||

Wouldn't that be the biggest hype/excitement ever? in order for a 4th race to be added to the game(imo), you would have to keep SC2 with the same SC units, timing, etc in order for you to balanced the 4th race so that it makes the game a lot more balanced. adding a 4th race with new units, and timings, abilities, etc would make the game a lot harder to balanced(and itd take a while for it to get a good balancing). WC3 is harder to balanced because they are 4 races, and the game is heavily rallied on better unit make up, and micro. | ||

That's why Blizzard is implementing such a great editor. So that you can make an entirely new, custom race. In all likelyhood, a fourth race would just make keeping the balance from becoming skewed that much harder. I have a more personal problem with it, in that things that are 'new' are afforded certain inherent connotations. There are three races in starcraft. They each complement each other so nicely, and they each fit so well with each other. There's just no more room for another race, imo. | ||

Starcraft IS the protoss, the terran, and the zerg. Thats what the game is. There should be Xel'naga present in some form in the campaigns but nothing mroe than that. | ||
